Violet's POV
"Funny. Really funny."
His hand reached out for my hand that was pushing his face down but before he could even do so, my hand was already moving.
I held the wrist of his hand that was reaching out for me and pinned it down the floor, my free hand balled into a fist, ready to hit him.
"You actually think you can hit me?"
His voice suddenly turned grim and serious. That annoying smirk was now out of sight.
"Hmm? You think I can't?"
My lips curved into a small smirk.
"My office has CCTVs installed all around, people will see-"
"Haha… Are you on drugs?"
He thinks I'll be scared if someone sees me raising a hand on him? I got involved in street fights and gang wars that happened near our residence, I got punched in the face by a mobster in front of my parents, I beat up someone with a wooden stick in the middle of a parking lot. So what if a few thousand people see me hitting him?
"I'm willing to beat you up in public if you want. Now, cancel the engagement."
"I still don't want to."
That smirk returned to his face again. Just what on earth is wrong with this man? He's more f*cked up than I am!
"Even if you beat me up a million times, I'm still going to marry you."
"Haa…"
I really thought physical coercion is the best way to make this flimsy man do what I want. Seems like I was wrong. My grip on his wrist loosened and lowered my fist.
"How about I help you find a way to bring in a more valuable asset to your company?"
"I don't think there's anything else out there that's more valuable than you."
Instead of pushing me and getting up from the floor, he took notice of my hand that was loosening its grip around his wrist. Now it was his turn to hold my wrist down. It looked like I was pinning him down the floor for a different intent now.
"What if there is?"
I answered. I couldn't let myself get fazed by whatever is happening between us right now. If I can't get what I want by beating up someone, I'll use every dirty trick and negotiation skills I have on my sleeves. I don't care if someone else receives the burden that I was meant to carry, I don't think any other women out there will think that marrying this man is a burden in the first place. They'll even think it's a blessing.
"I don't think there ever will be."
He answered.
"Cancel the engagement and I'll make sure I'll find a woman who is willing to marry you and is more valuable than me."
"What if I would still want to marry you even after you find a much more suitable woman for me?"
"...What the f*ck is wrong with you?"
I nagged back. His face scrunched up into a confused and offended expression.
"There's nothing wrong with me, maybe it's you who has a little damage in the brain."
He really looks like he's offended with what I said just now, but despite that he still did not let my wrist free and even held on to it tighter than before.
"It's you who has a damage in the brain! I'm offering to help you find a more suitable woman for you, someone who is actually willing to marry you, and here you are acting like a bit-"
"Alright."
He spoke again before I could even finish my sentence.
"Six months. I'll give you six months to find someone better than you."
He slowly removed his back from the cold floor and sat up straight. He lifted my wrist up and laid it down over his shoulder, his other hand made its way to wrap around my waist. He then pulled me closer to speak right in front of my face again.
"If you successfully find someone within that time, I'll cancel the engagement but if you don't, you will marry me without any questions."
The last part of his statement was as quiet as a whisper. It sounded more like a threat than a whisper. His face got closer until I could feel his breath hitting my cheek. At least his breath doesn't smell bad.
"Alright. I'll find a more suitable woman for you within six months and marry you without questions if I fail."
I'm confident that finding a more suitable woman for him was easier than launching a bomb at someone. I know a lot of people. If I throw hundreds and millions of women in front of him he'll eventually end up liking at least one of them. Even that Elaine lady will do the job just fine.
"...Now let me go."
I almost forgot that he was still clinging on to me like a snake, I almost forgot that I was still sitting on top of his lap. My sight moved to my hand that he placed over his shoulder. I think I'm just exaggerating, but he's been holding my wrist for a long time now so that it can turn blue from lack of blood circulation any second now.
"I don't want to."
He snickered as he placed his forehead on top of mine… Are those the only words he can say?
I strengthened up my arm and pulled my hand away from his grip. I almost accidentally hit his pretty face in the process, but it was too late to worry about that now. I finally freed myself from his grip and stood up. He was flimsier than I thought he would be.
Despite the fact that I was already standing on my feet again, his hand that was wrapped around my waist just now was still clinging onto the hem of my jacket.
"Get up."
I ordered while kicking his side as gentle as a feather. I can't even consider it as 'kicking' anymore, 'poking his side with my foot' was the more accurate phrase.
"You're treating me like a dog."
His grin started to spread through his face like wildfire. He leaned back on the air with his arms acting like the only pillar supporting him, preventing him from hitting the floor again.
"Hmm…But you seem to like it. It's written all over your face."
I intentionally stomped my foot heavily on top of his stomach. I didn't do it too hard though, I don't want him to cough up blood in the middle of his office.
"Stand up or I'll step on your face this time."
Before I could even raise my foot off his stomach, a clicking sound was heard. My attention flew towards the door in an instant and abruptly took my foot off the stomach of the man who was still sitting on the floor.
"Mr. Killian! I brought the table you asked for!"
The familiar cheerful tone of the boy rang through the entire office.
"Come in."
Entrinia finally stood up and dusted off his now wrinkled clothes. When I entered his office earlier he was spotless, not a single ugly wrinkle was seen on his clothes.
The door opened and the boy earlier entered the office again. Two other servants walked behind him while carrying a medium sized table. The two unfamiliar attendants placed the table in a safe and secure manner, paid their respects to Entrinia, then left. It all happened in a few seconds. Now, only the three of us was left in the room.
"You can't even carry that table on your own?"
Entrinia asked the boy with a smug look on his face.
"You can't even carry a kiddie chair on your own!"
The boy retorted with an annoyed expression.
"I can't carry a kiddie chair but I can carry a company on my back."
"That must be why your posture is not so different compared to a shrimp!"
They seemed close. Unlike when the first time I saw the boy, when he was pushing the foor cart earlier, Entrinia seems to be talking to him more lightly now. Earlier they were talking to each other so formally, like real master and servant earlier, now they're talking like they know each other since the dawn of the dinosaurs. Were they just acting earlier?
"Ah!"
The boy suddenly crouched down and picked up something on the floor. It was my sunglasses, I already forgot about them since I was too busy from restraining myself from hitting Entrinia.
"I think this this belongs to you Miss Amaryllis!"
The boy offered me my sunglasses back with a smile on his face.
"Thank you."
I took the sunglasses and expressed my gratitude with a bright grin. You have to give a bright smile to someone who gives you a bright smile. It's common sense.
"I'm Naru Neal. I'm ten years old. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Amaryllis."
The boy bowed shortly with an adorable and happy grin.
"It's very nice to meet you too, Naru, and you don't have to address me as 'Miss Amaryllis', you can just call me Violet."
I answered.
"You're letting him call you by your first name?''
Entrinia crossed his arms with a dejected expression. His foot tapped on the floor as each second passed by. The sound of his impatient and irritated taps made Naru and I turn our attention back to him.
"Is there something wrong with it?"
I asked as I placed the sunglasses in the pocket of my hoodie.
"You won't even let me call you by your first name…"
His eyebrows knitted together and his voice became lower and softer as he spoke.
"Jealous I see."
I snickered as I placed my hand on top of Naru's head, gently caressing his auburn colored hair. Naru's hair became a mess now, some strands of his hair was falling over his forehead.
"I'm not jealous. I never got jealous ever since I was born. I just want fair treatment."
"You can buy fair treatment at the store across the street."
Naru retorted with a teasing gaze.
"I'll never forget this betrayal."
Entrinia's face grew glum and dark but Naru only laughed in response.
"Enough with this. Naru, did you eat lunch yet?"
Entrinia dragged the chairs that accompanied the small ornament table to the medium sized table.
"Not yet. The main lobby is pretty busy today so I had to help the other attendants."
"You can eat with us if you'd like to."
Entrinia motioned for Naru to sit down on one of the chairs however instead of taking a seat, Naru looked at me.
What? Did I do something? I took my hand off from Naru's head on impulse. I thought he was getting uncomfortable because of my hand.
"Is it okay?"
He asked with a concerned look and bubble eyes. He looks adorable!
"Of course it's okay."
How could it not be? Who in their right mind would even say no to this kid?! Naru took a seat next to Entrinia and and I sat across them.

"Come back again soon Miss Violet."
Naru smiled brightly with Entrinia's hand resting on his shoulder.
"I will."
I spoke as the driver opened the car door for me but before I went inside, I jolted my head towards the direction of Entrinia.
"Hey Killian… I'll be back in a few days, you better prepare the paperwork for the cancelation of our engagement."
My gaze turned serious. Naru dropped his smile too, but it was not because of sadness or anything, I guess he's just trying to fit his expression with the current situation. I'm also getting a perception that this kid knows more than I think.
"I'll do that if you do find another suitable woman but for now, I'm not going to do anything about our engagement."
Entrinia could only smirk to my serious expression. It's irritating.
"I'm going to wipe that smirk off your face one day."
I couldn't help but blurt out my thoughts rapidly.
"I'm looking forward to that day, Violet."

AUTHOR'S POV
Warm sunrays enveloped the entire room as a black haired woman slipped off her shoes and threw them aside into the messy pile of things beside the door.
"Haaa."
"You're back earlier than expected."
Her attendant Olivia was already in her room before she even arrived.
"Yes, and I didn't raise a fist on him. Now congratulate me!"
Violet pointed a finger towards Olivia who seemed like she just finished cleaning the room. A supposed to be white cleaning rug was still in her hand.
"That's one of the most simple thing a human being could do. There's no need to congratulate you."
Violet's expression quickly dropped. She wanted to at least enjoy a few seconds of triumph for her hard work, but her attendant just won't support her and her random antics.
The sun was already setting outside the window. The red sunrays scattered all over the sky and made a blanket of red hue that covered the earth outside.
