Chapter 14 - Chapter 12 Talk with Peter.

Marcus's POV

I called Peter to the mansion base, knowing this conversation wasn't going to be easy. When he arrived, I could see the tension in his face, likely wondering why I'd called him so abruptly. We sat down, and I wasted no time getting to the point.

Marcus: "Peter, have you spoken with Curt Connors recently?"

Peter's eyes flickered for a second, but he shook his head.

Peter: "No. I haven't."

I sighed internally. He was lying, and this wasn't going to get easier for either of us.

Marcus: "Alright. Then how do you explain this?"

I brought up a video on the screen. It showed Curt Connors, fully transformed into the Lizard, reverting back to his human form. Peter's face drained of color, shock clear in his eyes as he watched Connors return to his human self.

Marcus: "You still want to tell me you had nothing to do with this?"

Peter swallowed, clearly nervous.

Peter: "I didn't... I mean, I didn't help him like that."

I sighed, this time audibly. 'Why is he making this harder than it needs to be?' I thought, pulling up the next footage. This one showed Peter at Oscorp, clearly working with Connors. He had given Curt the formula despite all the warnings I had given him. The footage was stolen from Oscorp, though, curiously, only Peter's involvement had been erased from Oscorp's files. That part was missing.

Marcus: "This footage was hacked from Oscorp. Only the data showing your involvement was removed, Peter. That's a problem they're not going to ignore. But I've already planned to pin the Brooklyn Bridge incident on Oscorp, considering it was Curt Connors who caused the damage. We'll use the footage of him transforming after taking the serum, and Oscorp's reputation will take the fall."

Peter stayed silent for a moment, his guilt showing clearly now. Finally, he admitted the truth.

Peter: "Okay... I gave Curt the formula. I just... I wanted to know more about my parents. I thought he could help me understand what they were working on."

The disappointment washed over me, heavier than I anticipated. I had warned him his parents never wanted that research to see the light of day again, and now Peter had gone and given it away. I stood up, not able to deal with the frustration any longer.

Marcus: "Get out. Meet me tomorrow. We'll discuss this further then."

Peter hesitated, clearly feeling the weight of his mistake. He turned and left, leaving me alone in the room with my thoughts.

After a moment, Athena's voice broke the silence.

Athena: "You shouldn't have removed observation on Peter. This could have been avoided."

She was right, of course. I should've kept a closer eye on him, but I didn't expect him to be so reckless after everything I'd told him.

Marcus: "I know. I didn't think he'd go behind my back like this, not only that but sharing his parents research out there. Perhaps he thought that it would helpful for Curt Connors but not expecting him turning into a Lizard."

Athena: "So, what are you going to do now?"

Marcus: "Well, I can't put all the blame on him. The circumstances played a huge role. He's a good kid he knows he's created a lot of problems today, and I believe he'll try to make up for it by becoming the hero he's meant to be."

Athena: "You sound confident."

Marcus (thinking): 'Of course I'm confident. He's Peter Parker one of the kindest and most responsible people in the Marvel Universe.'

Marcus (out loud): "By the way, have you found the secret lab his parents left behind?"

Athena: "Yes, the location has been confirmed."

Marcus: "Good. I'm planning to take him there. It might not help him not the way you Athena but he will definately be more responsible."

Marcus(Thinking): 'Athena doesn't what awaits peter is life full of misery that is why I am lenient on him and I think he might have a better life because of me but considering his fate in any universe it might be okay now."

Next Day,

Marcus's POV

Peter and I met at the subway where his father had hidden his lab. After entering the station, we carefully navigated through the old tunnels until we found the location of the train. I had asked Peter to bring anything that belonged to his parents, and among the items was his father's old calculator. Peter handed it to me, and after a moment of inspecting it, I opened a hidden compartment that revealed a set of small coins.

Marcus: "This is it."

I inserted the coin into the Hand-Held Terminal (HHT) on the wall. A low hum vibrated through the tunnel, and moments later, a train emerged from the ground. Its technology was far ahead of its time, considering when it was built.

Marcus: "Peter, come on. Let's go inside."

Peter, still stunned by everything, followed me into the train. As we settled in, I activated the old system. A holographic video of Peter's father, Richard Parker, appeared. His voice echoed in the quiet cabin, explaining the research he had been involved in, and more importantly, how he wasn't a traitor. He had been framed by Oscorp, and he tried to leave behind clues for Peter to discover the truth.

As the video ended, Peter stood in silence, his face calm, but I could see through it. His hands were clenched into fists, and I could feel the tension rising in him.

Marcus (thinking): 'He's furious. And when Peter's calm, that's when he's most dangerous.'

Before he could storm out to exact revenge on Oscorp, I placed a hand on his shoulder, stopping him.

Marcus: "Peter, wait. I know what you're thinking."

He looked at me, his eyes burning with anger.

Peter: "They ruined everything. They framed my dad and destroyed my family. I'm going to make them pay."

Marcus (thinking): 'Look, a smiling and laughing Peter is dangerous enough, but a serious Peter one who's joking? That's overkill, even for Oscorp. Trust me, I don't want him to go down that road right now.'

Marcus: "Think about Uncle Ben. Think about Aunt May. Think about the people who care about you. You can't just charge in, guns blazing. You need a plan."

Peter's fists slowly unclenched, though I could tell the rage still simmered beneath the surface.

Marcus: "And lucky for you, I have a plan. I've been collecting material on Oscorp—evidence. It's not direct enough to take them down immediately, but it's more than enough to raise alarms. There's also proof that Norman Osborn has been working with foreign militaries, off the record."

Peter's eyes widened slightly.

Marcus: "Once General Ross gets his hands on that intel, he'll connect the dots. He'll take down Oscorp himself, and with it, all their secret weapons and unethical projects. They won't stand a chance. But we'll need to find more evidence first. Your father didn't leave us with everything, but he left us with enough to put serious pressure on them."

Peter remained quiet for a moment, his anger slowly ebbing away as the weight of what I was saying sank in.

Peter: "So... what's next? How do we prove my parents were innocent?"

Marcus: "Once Oscorp falls, everything will be brought to light. We'll prove your parents weren't traitors. But it has to be done right. Athena is already working on it—she'll dismantle Oscorp from the inside, and we'll handle them externally. Just trust the process."

Peter finally relaxed, through the fire in his eyes still burned. He wanted justice, but he understood that rushing in would only create more problems. He gave me a slow nod, finally calming down.

Peter: "Alright. I'll wait. But I'm not letting them off the hook."

Marcus (nodding): "Good. Keep that energy, Peter. We're going to need it."
