Chapter 19 - Chapter 18 Battle at the space bridge

Third Person POV

Marcus activated his battle spaceship, preparing for war as it powered up and set course for the Space Bridge. He knew the general outcome of the situation from the "plot," but even with that foreknowledge, he wasn't entirely sure things would play out as expected. The real reason he handed over the Forge of Solus Prime to Optimus was simple: first, he couldn't use it himself. Second, trying to turbocharge a Ground Bridge for space travel was far too risky. And third, if Megatron succeeded in raising his undead Cybertronian army, the planet would be doomed—and that included all of Marcus's future plans and resources. He couldn't afford to let that happen.

As Marcus's battle spaceship arrived at the location, the fight had already begun. He quickly deployed T-1, now equipped with a sophisticated and powerful AI. He had named it Mirage. The reason for creating a AI is simple he can't always control T-1 and using AI was way better than himself instructing it with various problems like lag of transmission, communication problem, loss of control, etc.

Mirage's POV (Mirage)

I am Mirage, a artificial intelligence created to operate T-1, Marcus's war machine. At first, it was odd, inhabiting a body that felt... too physical. But Zeus had helped me acclimate, making me familiar with all aspects of the world I was entering. Now, I was about to face off against Cybertronians in an actual battle. Simulation training was one thing, but this... this was real.

The battlefield was chaotic. I saw Megatron and Optimus locked in fierce combat. Without hesitation, I transformed into an aircraft, diving into the fray. I launched an attack on Megatron, hitting him hard enough to get his attention, and opened my mask.

Mirage (to Optimus): "Optimus, shut down the Space Bridge now!"

Megatron glared at me, his optics burning with fury.

Megatron (growling): "Who dares interfere in my conquest? Who are you?"

Mirage (calmly): "I am Mirage, a cybertronian who believes your path is illogical, Megatron. You won't restore Cybertron rather you will cause only destruction."

That clearly infuriated him. Megatron lunged at me with the full force of his fury. I barely had time to dodge. Fighting him directly was risky, as Marcus had warned me. Megatron was an exceptional fighter, and in the beginning, he completely overwhelmed me. His strength and combat experience were unparalleled, and it was all I could do to keep him at bay, trying to buy time for Optimus.

But something shifted. As Optimus made headway in securing the Space Bridge, I noticed Megatron becoming more desperate. His focus wavered as he realized his precious army of "zombie-cons," as Marcus liked to call them, might slip through his fingers.

The battle raged on. I wasn't trying to win I was trying to hold him back. That was my mission, after all. With every hit I landed and every counter I made, it was clear Megatron was growing more frustrated. And then, it happened a massive explosion echoed across the battlefield.

Mirage (thinking): 'It's over. Optimus succeeded.'

With the explosion signaling the end of the Space Bridge's operations, I knew it was time to retreat. I quickly transformed back into my aircraft form and sped away from the chaos. But Megatron, instead of fleeing, charged straight toward the Space Bridge, no doubt in one final desperate attempt to salvage his plan.

I made my way back to the battle spaceship, landing swiftly. As soon as I was aboard, the ship lifted off, escaping the battlefield as quickly as possible.

Marcus's POV

From the cockpit, I watched as the spaceship ascended, leaving behind the battleground below. Everything had gone as well as it could have, given the circumstances. Optimus had the Forge, Megatron had been held back, and the Space Bridge was destroyed. Megatron's plans had crumbled, at least for now.

I leaned back, lost in thought. Megatron should have perished, but with Dark Energon running through his veins, his survival was inevitable. His role in the coming battle against Unicron was too important to let him fall now. Zeus had suggested that the Phase Shifter could help Optimus reach Unicron's core, but there were too many uncertainties surrounding it. What if it didn't work, or worse, caused unforeseen problems? For now, I would let Mirage and Zeus handle things here. With the Synthetic Energon nearly perfected, and all the Cybertronian relics in my possession, I wasn't worried. In a few years, everything on this front would be solved.

While I could stay here and further alter the course of events, it wasn't necessary. Mirage and Zeus had everything under control. The situation with the Autobots, the Synthetic Energon, and even the relics they were all in good hands. The real challenge now lay in Marvel's universe. That's where my attention needed to be. My strength would naturally grow over time, but I couldn't afford to wait for that gradual progression. I needed to accelerate the process, to unlock new avenues of power, and prepare for the greater threats that awaited me in the multiverse.

To achieve that, I need to unlock new worlds where my strength could increase beyond what was possible in the current realms. My hope is to uncover a magical dimension, one that could significantly aid in my long-term plans especially with the terraforming of Planet Venus. With the Space Bridge, Venus becomes an ideal candidate for transformation into a habitable planet. Before, like Musk, I would have focused on Mars, but now Venus has potential far beyond expectations.

Earth, in both the Marvel and Transformers universes, is unstable. In Marvel, the planet's core hides a Celestial, and here, in the Transformers universe, it houses Unicron. Both represent existential threats. There's only so much I can do in these worlds alone.

It's time to return. Zeus and Mirage will manage things here. They'll oversee the progress on Venus, continue developing renewable resources, and advance the other critical projects I've set in motion. My focus now has to be on Marvel and the endless opportunities it holds. If I'm going to shape these worlds to my will, I need to grow stronger fast.
