Chapter 9 - Chapter 07 Unexpected surprises

17th January, 2004

Just as I was settling in my bed, praying to god for nothing to happening. Suddenly Athena's voice echoed in the room.

Marcus: 'NO!'

Athena: "Marcus."

Marcus: "No, Athena. I'm in no mood to handle anything right now."

Athena: "Alright."

Marcus sighed, leaning back in his chair, trying to block out the endless stream of responsibilities that seemed to be chasing him. Just for once, he wanted some peace. But as the silence stretched, his curiosity gnawed at him.

Marcus: "Athena, tell me what happened."

Athena: "Weren't you just about to sleep?"

Marcus: "Now I won't stop thinking about what you wanted to say. So just say it."

There was a slight pause before Athena's calm, almost playful tone returned.

Athena: "Peter Parker the one you've specifically asked me to keep an eye on searching for Oscorp Industries. You told me to inform you when Peter does anything related to Oscorp, so I did."

Marcus sat up straight, rubbing his temples. 'Of course when I was going to rest' he thought. He had tasked Athena with tracking Peter Parker's movements. Anyone knows who is marvel knowns what the name Peter Parker means but it way to early it is 2004 and events should have taken place in 2012 considering Peter here is oddly similar to Andrew Garfield and there is also Gwen Stacy who looks like Emma Stone. It seems my knowledge from movies won't be useful.

{Author- I took Amazing Spider Man storyline because many and I myself find it Comic accurate. But please give opinions about this.}

Marcus: "Right, I remember. What's he doing there?"

Athena: "Currently unknown. He first searched for Richard Parker and Curt Connors and then continued surfing on the internet for anything related to Dr. Curt Connors and Oscorp Industries."

Marcus (sighing): "I really should have just taken that sleep. Alright going on with Curt Connors?"

Athena: "He is continuing the research on the animal cross genetics with a reptile DNA and he is going to a give a tour for interns in Oscorps."

Marcus: "When?"

Athena: "Tomorrow morning at 10:00 am it is under Curt Connors."

Marcus: "Alright keep a watch on him and no more question I am exhausted."

Athena: "Understood."

Marcus (thinking): 'Time to meet a friendly neighborhood superhero. Soon to be a superhero.'

Next Day,

I arrived in front of Oscorp Industries and parked my car, watching as Peter Parker entered the building. I had been tracking his movements for a while now, knowing today would be the day he sought something deeper within Oscorp's walls. Patience was key.

After about half an hour, Peter emerged from the building, looking slightly disoriented, no doubt from whatever he had uncovered. I pulled up in front of him as he walked down the street.

Marcus: "Good morning, Peter Parker. I need to talk to you about something important."

Peter, startled, turned to look at me briefly but didn't seem interested. His pace quickened as he moved past me.

Peter: "Sorry, I don't know who you are, and I'm kind of busy right now. Maybe some other time."

Without waiting for a response, he continued walking. I knew I had to say something to catch his attention.

Marcus: "Not even if it's about your parents... and Curt Connors?"

That stopped him in his tracks. He turned around slowly, his expression shifting from disinterest to a mix of suspicion and curiosity. His eyes narrowed, and I could see the tension building in his posture.

Peter: "What do you know?" he asked, his voice laced with aggression.

I raised my hands slightly in a calming gesture.

Marcus: "Take it easy. How about we talk in my car? I promise you'll want to hear what I have to say."

Peter looked at me for a moment, clearly weighing his options. He was torn, but his curiosity won out. With a sharp nod, he walked toward the car. I opened the door for him, and he hesitated for just a second before getting in. Once he was inside, I signaled to my Android, A1, to start driving toward Peter's house.

Inside the Car

The silence in the car was thick with anticipation. Peter sat rigidly, glancing at me every few seconds, still not sure what to make of me.

Peter: "You said you know something about my parents... and Dr. Connors. Start talking."

I leaned back in my seat, giving him a moment to settle before speaking.

Marcus: "Your parents—Richard and Mary Parker—were scientists, as you probably know. But what you might not know is that they were involved in something much bigger than they let on. They were working with Oscorp, specifically with Curt Connors, on a cross-species genetics project."

Peter's expression tightened, but he didn't interrupt.

Marcus: "The project was focused on using animal DNA to cure human diseases. Your father, Richard, was deeply involved in that research. In fact, he took it one step further. He used his own DNA to breed a series of genetically modified spiders at Oscorp."

Peter's eyes widened, and I could see him starting to piece things together.

Peter: "Spiders? Like... the ones at Oscorp?"

Marcus: "Exactly. The very spiders you encountered not long ago. But here's the part your father didn't share with Oscorp—he wasn't interested in pushing the research any further. He and your mother tried to shut the project down, but before they could do anything, they... well, they died in that plane crash."

Peter's fists clenched, his voice rising in frustration.

Peter: "You're telling me my parents were killed because of this? Because they didn't want to keep working on the project?"

I shook my head slowly.

Marcus: "I'm not saying that's why they died, Peter. I don't have all the answers. But I do know that they wanted to stop the research because of something they discovered—something linked to the Decay Rate Algorithm."

Peter: "The Decay Rate Algorithm? What's that?"

Marcus: "It's an algorithm your father created. It allowed them to predict how cross-species DNA would break down over time. In other words, it showed the dangers of using such genetic manipulation on humans. I suspect that's why they didn't want the project to continue. They must have realized it could do more harm than good."

Peter's face fell into a thoughtful silence as he processed everything I had just told him. After a long pause, he finally looked at me, his gaze sharper now.

Peter: "Who... who are you, really? And why are you telling me this?"

I smiled slightly and reached up to remove the synthetic mask I had been wearing. As I peeled it off, my true face was revealed, and Peter's eyes widened in recognition.

Marcus: "I'm Marcus Allen, CEO of Allen Technologies."

Peter blinked, momentarily stunned.

Peter: "Wait... the Marcus Allen? The one who's been revolutionizing Robotics, renewable energy and other things? I... I didn't realize—"

Marcus: "That's me. I am using a makeup to blend in. But I didn't come here today as the CEO of a company. I came because of you, Peter. Don't get into any more trouble than required okay?"

Peter's eyes flicked downward as if trying to hide something.

Marcus: "I'm not here to expose you, Peter. I just want to help. What happened at Oscorp is connected to your parents, and it's dangerous. That's why I'm offering you a way to learn more about Oscorp, about your parents' research, and about yourself."

As we pulled up in front of Peter's house, I turned to him.

Marcus: "If you want to know more, meet me here tomorrow at 9 AM. We'll dig deeper into what really happened with your parents and Connors. But for now I think it is over. Here take these Protein bars and you have been scratching back since you entered do you want me to call doctor."

Peter: "I am fine don't a need doctor and thanks for all the information Mr. Allen and I'll be there tomorrow."

Peter said to me with a look of mixture of confusion, gratitude, and suspicion. Then he didn't say anything for a moment, then nodded slowly.

Marcus: "Good. I'll see you tomorrow." 'He is doubtful about this. He is also cautious that is good.'
