Chereads / You’re Mine, Forever / Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

"You must be kidding now, right?", I sounded so incredulous. It took me atleast a minute before I was able to speak. What he just said astounded me.

"No", he replied. A sly grin parted his sexy lips and the urge of wanting to smack that grin off his face flowed through my whole being.

"Is this how you repay me?! I saved your life!", I questioned him almost pleadingly.

I was grasping at straws. I was at my wits end.

"I know, that's why I want you to be mine." He said politely. His face looked so serious now.

I started hearing my heart beating so fast against my chest.

"You can't and you won't! Ever!"

He didn't speak after that. He just sat there behind his massive office desk and watched me intently.

His gaze turned dark as if telling me I was his to command as he pleases.

I went to his office building today in the Morrison Empire, Inc. for I received a memo from our hospital medical director awhile ago. Apparently, I was getting laid-off. According to the director, it wasn't her choice that I was losing my job. One of the board of directors of DM Hospital particularly chose me to be removed. She was so saddened by the news for she knows I was a great asset to the ICU.

What made it suspicious though, was that I was the only one getting laid-off?!

Damn! Damn him to hell!

And here he was, sitting there right across the room from me, looking all big and brawny as if he owns the world and me.

I rejected his first proposal during my last visit in his hospital VIP patient room. I even laughed at him when I told him 'you wish' then I left as if the devil himself was right behind me.

I thought that would be the end of it all but oh how wrong was I?

That same day he was discharged, he left the hospital for good. However, the following day, I received a dozen of flowers at work. Then the day after that, after that, after that, and so on.

Of course, none of those flowers stayed inside the ICU where I was working for those weren't allowed there but it had made a lot of tongue twisting.

I became the new sensation of the gossip mongers, which of course wasn't really a nice experience.

I received countless glares from his envious admirers and a lot of teasings from my friends that will really make your hair fall due to irritation and stress.

I thought I handled it well by ignoring all of his 'summons' and 'commands' to meet him at lunch, dinner or so forth.

Just because he was the man in my dreams doesn't mean he owns my body. That he can make decisions for me. I was a very patient person but this guy makes me want to lose it.

He just won't stop!

He just doesn't know when to stop!

And he won't take no as an answer!

I took a deep breath to clear my head. I was so angry right now that I saw red but I had to calm down. I need to talk some sense into his head. I couldn't lose my job.

What about my mom and my sister?

"Mr. Morrison, I need my job back. So please, stop this right now." I looked at him with angry but pleading eyes.

I wanted to cry but I was trying my best not to.

"I'm offering you a new job", he said nonchalantly.

"But what do you need a nurse for? You're not invalid. You're not a patient anymore. You're very healthy." I wailed. My temper was starting to rise up again.

"There's a different kind of illness I got that only you can heal." He looked at me deeply, as if his eyes are saying 'you know what I mean'.

I swallowed the lump on my throat. I was afraid to ask. It felt like that the next sentences of words he was going to utter would be the dead of me.

"You want me to be your... your mistress?", I felt a if noose slowly wrapping against my throat as my dignity was slowly being stolen and broken right infront of me.

"No...", was his soft response.

I took a deep breath and swallowed the huge lump forming in my throat.

"Then what?", I inquired in a voice above a whisper as a single tear fell from my eye.

"I want you to be my wife."
