The large humanoid insect began to screech loudly. A blood curdling scream began to pierce our ears that sounded like it was in pain. The creature then began to rush forward to where we were standing...well running now.
Just as it's large claws were about to descend on us, a large pink spherical orb covered both Rena and I. Small holes were scattered throughout the circle that allowed the little oxygen that was left be let in to where we were confined.
"..Shit... who would've known that the queen would mutate as well..this is a huge oversight on our part."
I then summoned 20 of my rifles behind the Queen, showering her in a rain of bullets and explosions that blew a large portion of her back out.
'Well that was easy..'
Seemingly as if no damage had been done, the back of the insectoid began to heal at a rapid pace giving off a grotesque and inhuman look to their already monster like appearance. A large black plate like object morphed onto their back along with an another blood curdling scream and more frantic swipes at the pink orb.
"That's some....powerful magic their August."
"Thank you, but how are we going to get out of here? I don't think we have that much oxygen..."
"Well I have a solution for that!"
Suddenly, the pink orb we were in began to lift off of the ground and into the atmosphere. I began to gasp for the sudden intake of cool fresh air.
*BANG*
Suddenly a black shadow began to loom over the orb. Looking up to see a claw smack down onto the orb and do....no damage..? The orb somehow whiffed the claw, dancing around it like a mosquito.
"Woah... your magic is useful Rena, thank Viatana."
A small smile escaped her lips as she said,
"I'm a veteran hunter, it should be easy for me to kill such a low level monster."
'...she thinks this is low-level?'
*crack*
"...ok, maybe it isn't low level, mid-level..."
"..."
A very small, almost un-noticable crack was sown onto the pink orb. It was very miniscule and barely visible to the human eye, but still, damage was done.
'Ok lets try this again'
*BANG* *POW* *POW*
A loud symphony of gunfire was heard in the sky. Up to 30 Assault Rifles could be seen in the atmosphere, right above the insectoid, raining hellfire on the large monster. Holes were scattered throughout it's body with lots of green blood seemingly pouring through every crevice of the creature.
However, it still stood firm, continuously regenerating and gaining new armor that became increasingly hard as the mana bullets came down upon it. Suddenly the monster began to flap it's large holy like wings, with one large movement,
"It's gone..."
"Stay ready August, prepare your magic, and stay on your toes..."
"Yes ma'am"
In that pink sphere, it felt as if nothing was moving. The air remained tense whilst we stayed on the lookout.
'...This doesn't feel right, why would it just run away? We weren't doing THAT much damage..'
Right above the pink sphere, a collection of brightly colored mana began to gather into a concentrated ball. This ball contained an assortment of many colors, glistening like rainbow, almost as bright as the noon sun.
'ABOVE US'
"MRS. RENA ABOVE US!"
"?!??!"
*ZWOOOOOMM*
A bright beam of pure concentrated mana smashed down into the orb. We were sent flying down into the ground whilst the orb began to form many cracks into it. It almost felt as if we were getting cooked alive within that sphere, and to counter it Rena began to form many small orbs around us. She then pushed me hard out of the orb as she let it dissipate and separated the both of us.
'Wow, she's good with her magic'
The monster quickly flapped down almost producing a sonic boom, It came down and began to swipe down at me.
I quickly dodged the first one but was smacked away by the second strike.
'Thank god, she has such strong magic'
'God I wanna cry....why couldn't that god just leave me alone!'
As I got launched away, I quickly summoned another 30 AR's, this time I intended to aim towards the head.
*POW* *POW* *POW*
The rapid gunfire quickly excluded her torso, chest, and face, but as if nothing happened, it all came back, just with an even more grotesque look.
The monster now covered in weird shiny black plates began to rush towards me again,
'Maybe I should burn..'
10 rocket launchers quickly conjured behind me and fired off simultaneously,
*BOOM*
Loud explosions settled on the monster's body, riddling it in flames and destructive power. Suddenly, a large black claw was sent hurling towards me, knocking me back hard into one of the large oak trees.
'How is this thing still alive??? I practically burned its entire body!'
A pink sphere out of no where, slammed into the the torso of the large monster, pushing it back several meters, into the dense treeline.
"Come here August! We're going to try regrou-"
Rena was cut off by the sound of a large smack. The queen had slashed her claws with a much more elongated force, and was sent flying.
"MRS. RENA???"
'Is she dead???? Will I die???? I just got here!!! I just wanna go back to earth!'
Tears almost threatened to come out of my eyes, as I began to rack the possibilities of dying again, right when I had almost everything I wanted. Having everything taken away from me for a second time. I couldn't allow it..
'Think August think!'
'If Mrs. Rena was able to make her orbs smaller and larger...'
I quickly began to accumulate a large amount of mana into a singular Barret M82, it quickly grew in size, rivaling the insectoid monster that continued to slash away at Rena. Rena, observing what August was doing, stayed strong. She conjured Pink orbs onto the Monsters feet, keeping it in place, and oblivious to it's imminent death.
The Rifle now as large as a bus, gave off low vibrations, gathering Mana from the surrounding air. The tip of the rifle began to give off many iridescent colors, and the heat took a noticeable increase in temperature.
"Mrs. Rena duck please!"
*ZWOOM*
A large bullet rushed for out of the rifle and went straight through the upper half of the monster, leaving only its long insect feet on the ground. A straight line of crisp burnt remains of the forest ranged on for another 100 yards.
Rena laid upon the ground, shell shocked by the pure power that just shot out of the bullet. Her spheres were practically singed by the amount of concentrated mana that blasted out of the weapon.
'Wow..that kid's got some power'
After I saw that the monster wasn't showing any quick signs of regenerating, I began to relax. I may have relaxed too much however as I slumped onto the ground, without being able to stop myself.
'..I can't move anything...'
"Hey...Mrs. Rena, I can't move..."
"Ah... Your mana ran out. Let's get you out of here quickly"
Mrs. Rena grabbed me and put me on her back for a piggy back ride. I was pretty worn out for the most part, and I was pretty surprised I was still conscious. I think the fear of almost dying is what's keeping me awake at this point.
'They just now wanna show up huh...'
"Holy... what happened over here? Rena are you and the kid alright?"
"Yeah we're good, the queen Vaspe mutated, she had a pretty good regenerative ability."
*BOOM*
The leader of the group suddenly shot out, looking behind me I was able to see the queen monster quickly regenerate and was shooting one of its claws behind me.
I can't take it anymore...I CANT! This stupid world teaming with danger, these stupid powers, these stupid fights... I just wanna go home.... I burst into tears this time hoping, this time If I do die, I actually stay dead and rest.
