Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: The Mysterious Archer

The group of boys gathered around the well, staring helplessly into its depths as they tried to think of a way to retrieve the ball that had sunk to the bottom. Despite their best efforts, none of them could come up with a solution.

Just then, a whistling sound cut through the air, and an arrow flew directly towards the well. It struck the ball with precision, pinning it to the well's edge. The boys turned in unison, their eyes widening in astonishment. Standing a short distance away was a man dressed in the simple attire of a Brahmin, his demeanor calm and composed. Without a word, he walked over to the well, picked up a stick from the ground, and threw it into the well. It landed perfectly atop the arrow, forming a lever that allowed him to pull the ball out effortlessly.

The boys were awestruck, especially Arjun. As the man turned to leave, Arjun, unable to contain his curiosity, called out, "Sir, how did you do that?"

The Brahmin paused and looked at Arjun with a hint of a smile. "Why does this question arise in your mind? Is it because of the surprise you felt, or is it out of a desire to learn?"

Arjun, with Shubham's determination burning within him, quickly replied, "I want to learn. Can I also learn this skill?"

Inside, Shubham was certain that this man had to be the legendary Guru Dronacharya. He couldn't let this opportunity slip by. With a tone of respectful urgency, Arjun repeated, "Please, can I learn this from you?"

The Brahmin, who indeed was Dronacharya in disguise, studied Arjun's face carefully before responding. "The answer to your question lies with Pitamah Bhishma," he said. "Take this ball and the stick to him, and he will decide."

With that, Dronacharya turned and continued on his way, leaving the boys with a task that would lead them to one of the greatest teachers they could ever hope to have.
