The year-end and vacation were uneventful. Margie, Barbie, and I just sometimes go to dinner outside and drink a little but not so much. I can say that our lives are moving smoothly. I've been saving up from my part-time and I actually got full-time 4 days a week when vacation started. Sometimes, I see familiar faces in the crowd when night falls but it was just as simple as brief greetings and I never saw Kara in that place again, I'm not sure if because she heard that I work there now.
I meet up with some of my friends sometimes, especially my teammates in swim class and some batchmates but no special events are happening. Until the new semester came up. We are now second year. We celebrated my birthday before class started again and that simple celebration gave me strength to how my life turned out too well.
"I think I need to find a partner soon, I want to explore romance, and another person's physical touch and care." One morning the classes started already a week ago, and I was feeling sluggish feeling routine normal happening to me.
I didn't understand why my body having a boring day never affected my feelings before, it felt like I was looking for something, and I was somewhat getting frustrated for not knowing what that something was.
As I entered the gates of the campus, feeling the breeze that pass through the aisle of trees that are lined up. I hear people chatting from different directions but not too crowded, maybe because it's still early. I can see the people from the track and field on the left and I see familiar faces I ran to them, through the bleachers, and excitedly greeted them with feast bumps. They were all in the swim team that I joined last school year.
"Hey, man, don't you have something to tell us?" I sat down beside them on the grass field beside the oval, I furrowed my eyebrows from the question, I don't think I keep secrets from these goons
"What? What did I do now?" Jack continued, the guy in the black shirt where he wears our swim team uniform jacket tied to his waist
"I heard that we haven't seen you these past few months, what was keeping you busy?" I remembered I had been canceling their invites for it always sets on days that I'm at P-BBQ
"Haha, don't tell me you miss me, bro?" Everybody shrugged, I almost got hit by what Kim threw me, I think it was a water bottle
"Come on Grei, you have been missing all my calls, I'm beginning to think you're hiding a girl from us" Charlie added
"You see bro, you have to tell us things so that we can back you up when you need us" I smirked
"I'm not hiding anything guys, It's just that I have been busy, I started working with Mrs. Tammy at P-BBQ, and I'm doing great out there, then on my days off I get to work out or practice in the campus indoor pool. I was trying to perfect my freestyle" Then Kim started feeling my abdomen from behind
"Woah, it's getting hard" he commented. I reflexively slapped his hands with the rolled papers I had been holding. And everybody's giving me the eye that feels they're going to drop me to the lion's den.
I was not expecting them to create a commotion but it didn't take long for them to sell me. I hadn't noticed the people around us but apparently, the guys already eyeing somebody.
They dared me to take the lady's name and number for the price of $20 while pointing in a direction behind me. When I looked back at where they were looking, I saw a small woman but hot indeed. Wearing those sunglasses, sitting alone on the bench like she's waiting for somebody to take her anytime. She dresses well and could see that she could really carry her outfit.
"I'll consider your offer if you all give me $20 each" I smiled, the guy smirked and shrugged, and the other flicked his tongue. Then they looked at each other and Kim said
"We'll do it for $10 each" I just thought
"Well, that's still $10 dollars more" So, I agreed.
"Got it" I agreed. I turned from them and started walking towards the lady, the guys were trying to cheer me or mock me but I was already looking at the lady sitting on the bleachers. She's not moving, she looks like a doll, mesmerized by what she sees, the wind is starting to catch up and she holds on to her envelope.
