Chapter 16 - 14th: Let the Hunting, Begin! [Part 2]

"FUCK!" Wren couldn't help the curse when he saw the usage restriction.

When he looked at his side, where his stats were still being shown, he spotted the (-500) beside his HP input, which really disheartened him. Regret filled his heart and yet he couldn't do anything as the action had already been taken.

What he just wished was that this wouldn't affect his level or that he would really make a scene. Clearly, he just wants to do his quest but he has forgotten how his old world's way would also work in this new world, where nothing is given for free.

It would be useless to regret now and what he can do is make the loss worth it. And how to do that? Of course, to complete his daily quest with flying colors!

Wren's body had enlarged in such a fast phase that, within seconds, the big old tree he was hiding from had been trampled down by his giant feet. Only then did Wren make his enlargement stop.

The size was enough to reach and swat the flying goblins like mosquitoes. Because he only wanted to use this skill on these watcher goblins, he couldn't grow larger than this, or he might end up squashing everyone.

"Okay. Let's do this like I'm swating a baseball! Here I go!" Wren kindly announced his plan, like he was reminding the goblins of his vicious plan.

With each swing of his hand, a watcher goblin would end up flying out of control in different directions, like a shuttlecock. His big hands would swat two to three watcher goblins each so that the system notification just kept on beeping.

From the fifty required kills, it goes down until there are no flying goblins surrounding him like moths. Some of the ordinary goblins tried to attack him as well, and though it was nothing because of the [Immense Durability] skill attribute, it still brought an uncomfortable tickle. Subconsciously, he would kick his giant feet, throwing all the small goblins away.

Lucky for them, Wren hadn't put any force into it that could kill them, aside from some injuries.

This sort of play took him more than ten minutes and the kill requirements of his daily quest had lessened by a quarter. He didn't take any rest this time and directly activated another skill of his.

"[Black Purgatory.]"

With a snap, the [Gigantomania] deactivated and he instantly reverted back to his original size. His nails had elongated like that popular superhero in a movie and they were as sharp as well. It shocked him but he couldn't dwell on it as the skill was fully activated.

[You have activated the [Black Purgatory]. In thirty minutes, you will forget your sanity and possess an insiatable desire to kill any living creatures within the area of ten meters.]

[You have successfully activated the [Black Purgatory] skill. You will now receive the skill set.]

He could feel the intense thirst for blood and flesh, which made his blood boil with excitement. This insiatable desire was not the same as a hungry beast but just like a lunatic killer who wanted a blood bath.

You can see that his eyes turned golden amber. Another sign that the [Black Purgatory] skill had been fully activated. With that, Wren had started his killing spree.

——

Name: Black Purgatory

Type: AoE Skill

Level: C

Description: The Amarok Wolf can't be called the beast of destruction if it can't have its trademark rampage. Upon activation, you will receive a massive power input, the same as when you use the giantification skill but this power won't help you grow physically, but in might.

Usage Restriction: This requires the user to have at least C-class rank to only require 100 HPs per consumption but the system detected that the user was still at D-class rank so this might be multiplied. After the system calculation, the required HP will be no more than 1000 per thirty minutes. Additional time usage would require the same amount, whether it was only for a second extension of usage.

Active Skill/s: Berseker (Max LV), Wolfen Claws (Max LV)

Passive Skill/s: None

"What a corrupt system! Die!" Wren yells in tears.

Can he just stop using his skills? He thinks that the time he had to train all his skills was also the time for his level to decrease. He couldn't let his hard-earned (not really) effort to level it up to ten only regress back to level one, faster than he had made it.

This feeling of unhappiness was taken out on the pitiful goblins. These recipients of his unresolved displeasure with the unfairness of the system became the grievance of the ordinary goblins, which was easily taken down by Wren's sharp claws as he thrust, slashed, and pierced them into the goblins' small bodies.

[You had successfully killed a Goblin. You have received (+1) XP. There are still twenty-five [Goblin] monsters that you must kill to complete the (2) daily quest.]

Not even the continued system notifications can soothe his aching heart. Since this was the case for the system, he might as well have used the other skill to see just how low his level would decrease.

"[Wolfen Curse.]"

Wren didn't deactivate the [Black Purgatory] because he just wanted to make use of it to the fullest to lessen the regret. He still has more than seven minutes before the time limit and that's too wasteful if he just deactivates it.

He could still remember how he also wasted his five-hundred HP deduction when he deactivated the [Gigantomania] skill after using it for only five minutes. If not because he was still reasonable enough at that time, he might have also forgotten about the real essence of this quest and just used up everything without waste.

[You have activated the [Wolfen Curse]. Powered up with the [Black Purgatory], even your reanimated wolfen armies will feel the burning power of a berserker.]

[You have successfully activated the [Wolfen Curse] skill. You will now receive the skill set.]

——

Name: Wolfen Curse

Type: AoE Skill

Level: C

Description: The Amarok Wolf may be a loner wolf when it comes to hunting but it still has its hidden thrump card—an army of feral werewolves. Any creature that was killed by its powerful claws had received the curse that would turn them not into normal zombies but rogue werewolves.

Usage Restriction: This requires the user to have at least C-class rank to only require 300 HPs per activation and 1 MP per turned creature. The system detected that the user was still at D-class rank so this might be multiplied. After the system calculation, the required HP will be no more than 3000 and 10 MPs per werewolf soldier and this will last for an hour. Additional time usage would require the same amount, whether it was only for a second extension of usage.

Active Skill/s: Shadow Patriarch (Max LV), Wolf Necromancer (Max LV)

Passive Skill/s: Mind Control (Max LV)

"Damned system! Argn!"

Wren could only cry without tears. He really wants a refund. Why is it so expensive when he just wanted to be a good student by following the system's quests? He wasn't provided with choices at all, and that's making him feel so frustrated.

As Wren's grievances with the system's exorbitant restrictions grew, it was also the same for the goblins that were slowly being exterminated by Wren without a sweat. Even the powerful magigoblins' powerful magic can't compare with Wren's fury.

[Your army had successfully killed one Hobgoblin. You have received (+10.5) XP. There are still twenty [Goblin] monsters that you must kill to complete the (2) daily quest.]

[Congratulations! Your daily quest (1) has been completed! Your rewards will automatically added to your stats.]

[You had successfully killed a Magigoblin. You have received (+15) XP. There are still nineteen [Gobin] monsters that you must kill to complete the (2) daily quest.]

Probably because he was completely consumed by his grievances and not by the thirst for blood that the [Black Purgatory] had made him feel, Wren didn't notice another additional announcement within those system notification bombardments.

He was fully decided. He would make sure that no time would be wasted by using all his activated skills. Even if he had already completely exterminated the goblin settlement, Wren was eager to collect more experience points for future use rather than reside with his fury and regrets.

When all the goblins in the settlement were anhilated, Wren left the area to look for other targets. Following behind him were his werewolf goblin armies, which had werewolf physics with a bit of goblin physical traits such as the ears.

This time, his luck attribute had worked on its magic and not long after, he had spotted another goblin settlement twice the size of the first one. Even if the [Black Purgatory] is no longer in use, Wren uses his fury and resentment to have his own rampage.

And with the assistance of his werewolf armies, he was able to exterminate another goblin settlement before his last activated skill reached its time limit.

[Congratulations! All your daily quests have been completed! Your rewards will automatically appear in your system panel.]

[The reward from completing the daily quests had been automatically used. An [Automatic HP and MP Restoration] was used to restore the MP and HP back to their full state. Restoration, complete.]
