Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Shopping Troubled (Continued)

"Next is..." Sarah said leaving the store and looked around the store. Sarah found a condo and a apartment he wanted so badly.

"I want it, I want it. But it'll be too much." Sarah said feeling a bit guilty. Marcus had 10 digits in his account so he wasn't worried about running out of money.

Marcus found her cuteness when she felt guilty about it adorable. He was relieved as he wasn't concerned about money. He thought, "Her needs and wants are not a big deal for me. I can afford it easily."

He said, "If it's something you really like, we can consider buying it. I can pay for it without worry." As he smiled and gently ruffled her hair, feeling his mind full of joy and a flutter in his chest.

"No way that's out the question. I'll buy something else." Sarah said walking away.

Marcus quickly realized his mistake and was a bit disappointed she didn't accept but knew she didn't want him to pay. He wished she would allow him too.

He followed her trying to catch up and said with a teasing tone, "You're so stubborn, you know"

His eyes kept lingering on her wishing she'd allow him to treat her and spoil her.

"I can't pay the property taxes thats why I am reluctant." Sarah said.

"I am not rich like you, Marcus you nerd to understand it. Even if you want to spoil me it will end up back firing." Sarah said tearing up a bit.

Seeing her tears, Marcus felt a pang in his chest, seeing her emotion. His heart felt heavy, and he hugged her, trying to provide comfort.

He held her tight and said, "Okay, okay, I know you're not rich but, we can go see that condo again." He caressed her head and gently wiped her tears, trying to get her to look at him, not leaving his gaze on her in an earnest tone.

"I can take care of the property taxes and other bills, so if you like the condo so badly I think you should get it. Please."

"No let's not buy any properties it won't look good. Having you pay for everything. Let's buy something else instead." Sarah comforted him.

He didn't want to push her if she was that against it, but his heart still felt heavy, he wanted to spoil her. He nodded reluctantly, wiping away his disappointment. "Fine," He said sighing internally.

Marcus gave her a small smile and said, "Alright, what do you want to buy now?" He tried to act cheerful despite feeling slightly disappointed.

"Well... I've got dress and other clothes ordered from the tailor so next is handbag and shoes." Sarah said with a smile going into a expensive looking shop.

Marcus nodded and went in the shop with Sarah, feeling slightly disappointed but trying to cheer up.

As they entered the boutique, their eyes was met by a wide array of designer bags and shoes. It was an extensive collection of high-end items, with luxury bags lining the walls and high-end shoes displayed on stands.

As they approached the boutique saleswoman smiled and greeted them, "Good morning, how can I help you?"

"Well I was looking some of your latest handbags and shoes." Sarah asked politely.

The saleswoman nodded and led them to a section with the latest bags and shoes. The assortment included clutch bags, totes, cross-body bags, and purses, all from recognizable luxury brands. The shoes were a mix of boots, heels, flats, and sandals, ranging from casual to high-end.

The saleswoman smiled and asked, "Is there any particular style or brand you're looking for?"

"Well I usually wear dresses, skirts and only on few occasions do I wear just casual trousers and shirt." Sarah described.

The saleswoman listened closely and replied, "Then I'd recommend a nice assortment of dressy handbags and shoes that go well with your style."

She guided them to high-end options, including clutches, top handle bags, and shoulder bags for formal occasions.

The saleswoman showed Sarah a selection of stylish heels, sandals, pumps, and flats for a business-formal look and a collection of dressy loafers and boots for casual attire.

The saleswoman suggested, "We have many options, do you have a preference in any color scheme?"

"Well I wear beige, white, dark blue, and black dress but the blue and whites are mostly reserved for special occasions." Sarah went on about it.

The saleswoman smiled and asked, "So the colors you mainly wear are white, beige, and black, and the blue ones are saved for special occasions. Got it." She looked around and said, "In this case I'll suggest these."

The saleswoman picked out a few handbags in shades of white, black, and beige as well as some chic pairs of heels and pumps in the same color shades.

"These are very versatile and would go nicely with almost any outfit." She said as she put the items on the table for them to see and consider.

"Great thank you." Sarah said buying buying all and the shoes and heels.

As the saleswoman rang in the purchases, Marcus felt slightly relieved seeing her buy the items, but he couldn't shake off his earlier feelings. Still, he tried to be cheerful, his mind still wanting to see her happy.

The saleswoman smiled and said, "Your total is...."

She started listing the price of all the items combined, a mix of shoes, high heels, handbags, and other items. It was a considerable amount.

As she continued listing the total price, Marcus felt his heart skip a beat. It was indeed a big amount, but he paid the saleswoman with a sigh, trying to smile and hide his guilt, knowing it wasn't a big amount for him. He hoped she wouldn't feel guilty for the price, not wanting to spoil her good time.

"Let's buy some jewellery, watches and other accessories." Sarah said excitedly.

Marcus, still feeling conflicted, agreed, wanting to see her happy.

The saleswoman smiled and led them to another section full of various watches, rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and more. It was a display of high-end jewelry, each piece glimmering and shining.

"Let's see the balance." Sarah asked as Marcus saw it made no impact on his account.

"Wow your so rich that the zeros go off the screen, well whatever that means I can spend to my hearts content." Sarah said with a devilish smile.

Marcus's felt slight embarrassment and sighed mentally, feeling a bit like she's spending his money left and right.

He thought, 'I want her to be happy, but I don't want her to view me as a bank machine to spend on.'

He cleared his throat and watched as she continued shopping, feeling mixed emotions.

Sarah chose various classy watches, a thin sliver necklace, bracelets with rubies, and diamond earrings.

As they shopped, passing by the items, Anna, Catherine, and Sophia suddenly spotted Marcus shopping with Sarah.

They were surprised, and Sophia said, "There's Marcus with that girl! I wonder who she is." Sophia said with curiosity, having a similar expression to the others.

"She's quite beautiful I mean very beautiful. The way she walks, and smiles is of a elegant lady." Catherine says mesmerised.

The trio were amazed, seeing her beauty and elegance, they couldn't take their eyes off her.

Anna, stunned by her beauty and charisma, said, "She's so beautiful, like a princess in a fairytale."

Catherine nodded, agreeing, "Indeed, she's not just beautiful but graceful too. Her elegant aura is so captivating."

"Let's go ask Marcus who she is." Sophia said determined to know who the girl is trying to steal Marcus from her.

The others nodded, determined to find out who the girl was, feeling a mix of curiosity and slight worry about her relationship with Marcus.

Sophia confidently said, "Yeah, let's approach them."

The trio walked over to Marcus and Sarah, who were still shopping.

"Alright I am done for today." Sarah said as he picked three classy watches one white, one silver, one light pink and one gold. As well as a thin silver necklace and a bracelet adorned in small rubies, emerald and diamonds.

The girls approached them as they finished their shopping, and listened to Sarah saying she was done for the day.

Sophia, holding back her curiosity, said, "Excuse me, hi." She tried sounding casual, but her interest in Sarah was obvious. The trio were now right next to them.

"Oh. Who might you be? Let me guess one his ex-girlfriends?" Sarah asked.

Her blunt words took them by surprise, especially regarding the word 'ex'.

Sophia tried to keep her composure but felt slightly irritated. She said, "I'm Sophia. And I do know Marcus quite well."

Catherine, feeling slightly uncomfortable, interjected, "And I'm Catherine and these are my friends."

Anna, trying to be friendly, said, "We were just wondering who you are."

"Why do you care unless... your into him that is?" Sarah said with a grin.

The girls felt a mixture of surprise and irritation at her question. It hit the spot, and they blushed slightly.

Sophia was the first to speak up, "I mean, he and I were.... we were.... " she tried to explain.

Catherine, trying to defend her friend, said, "Well... We do like him, but it's complicated."

"How, so? Tell me all three of you love him. Well are you willing to share him between the three of you?" Sarah asked gazing into their eyes.

The girls felt flustered and slightly embarrassed, not expecting such a direct question.

Sophia, trying to maintain her composure, said, "We all have feelings that we'd rather not discuss."

Catherine added, "Yes, and none of us had really, seriously thought of sharing him."

Anna blushed, saying, "We just admire him, that's all."

"Tch. Tch. Tch. Then it's not even love if you admire him. Thats just admiration. Love is something that draws you towards that person even though you don't know why." Sarah says what he thinks about love.

The girls were taken aback, realizing that Sarah had a point. Their feelings for Marcus, which they had thought of as love, started to become hazy. They had been drawn to him for various reasons.

Sophia, feeling a bit vulnerable, said, "But, it's not that simple. We..."

Catherine nodded, "We can't just... deny our feelings like that."

Anna added softly, "No matter how conflicted they make us feel."
