Chapter 11 - Chapter 10 - Shaping the Future of Comics

"Xu Mo, now that 'One Punch Man' is incredibly hot, and 'Juvenile Jump' has made its debut in the comic scene, we need new comics to keep the momentum going," Andy said earnestly over the phone.

No comic magazine survives on a single comic alone; otherwise, it would be better to publish a standalone book.

"Well, this time I'm working on two new comics. Uncle Andy, you should also adjust the layout to make 'One Punch Man' smaller. It's not going to be a long series," Xu Mo replied calmly.

Andy's voice rose with concern. "Two new comics? Are you sure you can handle that? Take your time and don't overwork yourself."

Comics artists usually work slowly and meticulously, with an average output of one chapter per week. Xu Mo's schedule, with three chapters open at once, was already intense, and pushing for more might be overwhelming.

"Don't worry, Uncle. Do you think I'm the type to overwork myself?"

With the help of his system artifact, Xu Mo could create chapters quickly, thanks to his skills from his previous life and the phantom outlines.

"Besides, I need to build my own comic empire."

Andy, familiar with Xu Mo's capabilities, smiled knowingly. It wasn't arrogance—it was confidence in Xu Mo's potential.

Xu Mo advised Andy to take care of himself and hung up the phone after ensuring everything was set.

On the sofa next to him, Jia Li, the hamster, sat with her cheeks bulging as she munched on snacks. Xu Mo had discovered that as long as Jia Li kept eating, she wouldn't make her usual "cooing" sound, so he kept her supplied with plenty of treats.

Jia Li, her eyes sparkling with excitement, looked up at Xu Mo. "Are you really working on new comics? Is that true?"

Jia Li had always loved comics, and while they might not feature characters as powerful as her father, their stories and charm had always captivated her.

"Yes," Xu Mo confirmed. He secretly accessed the system interface, typing and deleting names in the search bar. He noticed his fan value had reached 200,000 points and was still climbing, though it would eventually slow down.

"One Punch Man" had made a significant impact, and fan value was initially high but would diminish after the first wave. A comic magazine usually serialized ten to twenty different comics, with most featuring individual stories.

Xu Mo could release multiple comics in the next issue of "Juvenile Jump," but that would dilute their impact. Each comic needed to be a focal point, creating waves of discussion and maximizing fan value.

The challenge was choosing the right themes to compete with the likes of the American Team. Classic themes like "Naruto" and "Dragon Ball" were too lengthy and slow to build momentum. "EVA" was a landmark work, but its deeper themes might not resonate immediately in the current market.

Andy had rightly pointed out that Xu Mo needed to quickly make waves in the comic market with impactful, thought-provoking content. These new comics should challenge conventional views and resonate deeply with readers.

Long, slow-burning stories wouldn't work. Xu Mo needed explosive content that would grab attention immediately and keep fans talking. The aim was to stir discussions with the first three chapters and maintain a high fan value.

With this strategy in mind, Xu Mo considered two new comics that perfectly aligned with his vision—one focusing on bloody violence and human nature, and the other on intense, thought-provoking themes.

As Xu Mo began to sketch, Jia Li watched with curiosity. "Xu Mo, why are you drawing comics like this now?" she asked. "I thought 'One Punch Man' was all about being cool and humorous."

Xu Mo gently brushed Jia Li's silky purple hair and smiled. "These new comics are exciting in their own way. They'll be different from 'One Punch Man,' but that's what makes them thrilling."

With a deep breath, Xu Mo picked up his paintbrush, ready to bring his new visions to life. His new comics were set to challenge the norms, create buzz, and potentially set the stage for the next big wave in the comic world.
