Between the Lines of Reality

Once upon a time, there was a young author, who used to like writing stories and whatever would come into his head. Drive by their desire to write something more than just a story and a simple tale to be stored inside their library, the young author wrote what would become the biggest tale that has ever existed in mankind's history.

Aletheia wasn't a sapient being, nor did it have will, desires, or emotions. It was merely a book before the young author used his big imagination and creativity to give his creation, a mind of its own. Aletheia could finally think and feel, it could sense the world around themselves. No longer a book bound by the will of its author but now a sapient meta-narrative, capable of understanding themselves and everything around them.

The world to Aletheia was dark and greyish, stories in the Prime Dimension were out of color and events just happened through a controlled system named Narrative Filter. The system would be responsible for dictating how stories within the world would be developed, working as a filter and limiter to limit how far authors and writers could write. The young author, on the other hand, didn't seem bound by the Narrative Filter, he had managed to do something that so far no other author had managed to write, a living sapient story that would be different from all the others.

But Aletheia, her situation was different, her creation happened for a different yet deep reason. The Young Author felt lonely and sad, not only for being abandoned by part of his family but also because of his mother having passed away. The writing was the only thing the young author had to entertain and distract his head with, yet to him, it wasn't enough. He seemed unsatisfied, maybe he needed a friend and someone he could share his ideas with, he needed a pal to talk with. Aletheia was born not only from a desire to serve as a companion but also through the emotions and creativity of the young author.

When Aletheia was given a conscience and a sapient mind to be able to think and feel, it could not only sense the sadness of their author but how greyish and dark the world was, stories would unravel not through joy and fun but through a controlled system in the rules that governed the sphere. Seeing how the world was colorless in their vision, gave Aletheia a burning desire to want to free the sphere from the filter's control and allow writers to unravel their imagination and creativity in their work in the same way Yukito did.

This desire led the living story to materialize between the two sides of existence, where light and dark would touch. It looked up and saw the stars, the constellations, and the many spirits that would travel through the sky like shooting stars; some evil and other good. They could also sense and feel something on the horizon, disguised as a star. The Star had a meaning, it was meant to represent the element that would rise in the horizon, bringing light and inspiration. But there seemed to be something more on the Sun, an big filter that would cover the entire star as a sphere and filter its light into the rest of the sphere, darkening what didn't seem to be important to them and letting go what was interesting

Aletheia could finally see the filter now while standing on the moon. It reached its hands, trying to grab the filter and untying it from the star. Space and Reality bend and the story flattened as Aletheia untied every part of the filter from the star. For every part untied, a part of the star's light would escape and fill a part of the material world with its warm light. And when the last layer of the filter was removed from the star's body, its light permeated through the layers of reality and between both sides of the sphere. The once darky material world, now gained its light to balance with the dark aspect of its counterpart in the Astral Plane

While standing on the moon, Aletheia could see the flow of light traveling through the material world like threads of energy and creativity. Existence was no longer greyish to the writers on Earth, and despite bad problems still being something existing, Aletheia had managed to bring the shadowed light the world needed; Hopes and Dreams. Bringing imagination, freedom, and truth to a world that lacked creativity.

Maybe most would not be aware of the things this little Primary Web did but deep down she wasn't chasing recognition or fame, she had fulfilled and achieved her goal to bring light to the world without needing to alter and flatten proportions of it.

For Aletheia, it was enough.

  1. Also known as the sephiroth "Malkuth", is the lowest sphere and plane of existence in the tree, existing above all primary webs. Stories written by authors of the Prime Dimension can affect the narrative of the tree and the primary webs on it.
  2. A Primary Web refers to a whole echelon of fictional stories, which contains entire stacks of stories inside like a ladder. They contain worlds that can and can not be possible inside, each story bound within its framework
