Greetings readers, Im the Storyteller Spider and today we're going to follow a different tale that takes place on this beautiful blue planet you know as "Planet Earth". Being the third planet of the solar system, Earth had the greatest stories among all the solar system and went through the hardest challenges to become what they are today, a planet full of life or well...almost full of life if you can say it. Just like the other planets, Earth came into existence around 5 billion years ago when the solar system was still a baby and the sun a young dazzling star. We can say that of all the planets, Earth had more success than its oldest brothers in the system. Both Mars and Venus used to be also beautiful planets full of life, but a tragedy prevented the two siblings of Earth from progressing.
We start with Venus's point of view, billions of years ago, we can see a blue and green planet with many desert areas and even glacial regions as well. Anyone who time travels and manages to see Venus in the past will not believe is the same hellish planet we know today, but Venus did have its beauty in the past, deserving its name that came from the Roman goddess of love and luxury. The atmosphere of Venus was somewhat similar to Earth's except the oxygen levels were a bit low, yet not something humans would fully notice. The Venusian vegetation was also a little similar to Earth's, with its own peculiarity and design with plants adapted perfectly to the environment. The oceans of Venus formed millions of years later after Venus managed to cold and receive strange meteors that carried an element named NaCI (what humans know as Kitchen's Salt). The constant striking of those special meteors on Venus made it possible for the planet to slowly grow big pools of water and eventually cover the planet's surface with salty water. Even tho the planet seemed to be progressing normally, an event happened on Venus in which all volcanos of the planet erupted at the same time and released chemical reactions into the atmosphere, corroding and burning down all flora and fauna of the planet and forever poisoning the once beautiful place Venus represented. This marked the end of the planet's golden era and forever burying Venus in a forgotten pile of memories that no one will be able to know unless seen in the past.
Following the evolution cycle of Venus, we will then follow the story of our pretty red and favorite planet Mars, which was named after the Roman god of war. Mars had the same trajectory as Earth and Venus, being hit by the same meteors and being offered the same gift its siblings had, the gift of receiving life on it. Mars had also the same route as its sibling Venus with little differences in the atmosphere's composition and species of flora and fauna that once lurked in the so red planet. The special mark of Mars used to be its beautiful crystal blue lakes and sweet oceans that bathed all the planet's surface together with its unique fauna on its oceans. It didn't take too much for Mars to evolve quickly and within some millions of years the planet already had a species that humans nowadays would call "the Martians". Martians used to be widely smart and progressed quickly in their society, eventually expanding the frontiers of their planet and colonizing their moons Phobos, and Deimos. Earth was also once visited by the Martians at some point during their spatial exploration period. During this time, Earth was still in the Triassic period (close to its end). Martians would use Earth as a colony for Martian bases and other structures that were constructed in the so primitive blue planet. Everything seemed to flourish perfectly and the so advanced society seemed to be evolving quickly, eventually managing to reach civilization type 2 in 1000 years of evolution. However, just like Venus, Mars went through a tragic event that extinguished 99% of the population on the planet. The event happened due to a lethal solar wind that was released off the Sun and brutally directed Mars, which unfortunately did not manage to resist the impact coming from the star and had its atmosphere and magnetic field compromised and destroyed. Martians tried to fight back against nature and the cycle of life attempting to end their lives by hiding inside the planet's underground as a way to escape the mass extinction that made their planet slowly die with the years. The consequences of losing the planet's magnetic field allowed the Sun to slowly destroy the planet's fauna and Flora through the years, with thousands and thousands of Martian plants and animals being terminated due to the now radioactive environment the surface of Mars became.
Having become a hostile planet for life, Martians were forced to stay confined inside the underground for thousands of years, attempting to find ways to recover their beloved planet back, until realizing it was a lost case and no method they knew would be able to revert the damage the Sun caused. The remaining global leaders would then lay a suggestion in the international martian congress. The suggestion involved the creation of motherships and powerful spacecraft in an attempt to escape and flee the planet. It took about 25 years to create all the ships and necessary resources due to the already advanced technology and civilization Martians achieved. Upon the end of all projects to evacuate the planet, Martians directed their destiny beyond the limits of the solar system carrying 90 million Martians inside 180 spaceafts. Those were the survivors of a tragedy that reaped 8.91 billion people off the planet. After that, Martians were then forever forgotten, and the proof of their existence completely fell into oblivion. Some structures on Mars remained intact to prove something once existed here yet this was only discovered around century 21 when the spatial agency of the US found remnants of an ancient ruin with rotten and crumbled constructions that could prove Martians once existed in the now-devasted red planet. Though the agency together with the Pentagon, hid this discovery from the world and kept it as a Top Secret File for years
Earth also faced the same tragedies as Mars and Venus despite being always able to recover and grow life again, proving the resistance and perseverance the blue planet had In comparison to its siblings. Such as the mass extinction Earth went through during the end of the Cretaceous Period, or the many glacial moments Earth went through. Despite losing part of its fauna and flora, Earth somehow is always able to recover and regrow new life again as if nothing. Yet this does not unfortunately mean that it keeps doing this forever. There seems to be a rather strange cosmic event that somehow prevents any civilization from progressing any further, what humans nicknamed "The Great Filter". The Theory explains that every civilization that is close to evolving any further eventually faces an imminent mass extinction be it because of; nuclear weapons, global conflicts, climatic changes, cosmic threats such as the impact of a meteor, or a sudden impact of solar flare coming from the star. This would be "The Great Filter", something that for some reason wipes civilizations and prevents evolution from expanding any further.
When mankind discovered the Martian ruins and constructions that were once structures in the ancient periods of the red planet, the agency entered into despair for discovering for the first time an official proof of life and worse, Life in the solar system. This news was supposed to be the greatest discovery ever made, however, it was the worst thing they could have discovered because it was practically confirming one of the worse theories they were trying to seek to answer the Fermi Paradox. The Discovery of life on Mars could only mean one thing for humanity; They were still behind the great filter. This could only mean a horrible fate was waiting for them in the future, wherever problem would happen, the agency now had a information that could never be spread to public otherwise it would break religions all across the world, spread chaos in everywhere and cause mass deaths all around the planet. Of course some minority would still deny such information and claim the government is attempting to lie to them. In a certain way, mankind always had this carved in their nature, the fear of the unknown and most important, arrogance. And if they don't fix their way to be, maybe mankind might go through the same fate Venus and Mars went through
This story might teach us that in order to progress and evolve, we can only team up and evolve together rather than alone and surrounded by our own arrogance and pride. Mankind is the living example of this, their ancestors were somewhat better than them; stronger, faster, more durable. But they did not have something the homosapiens owns; Comunication. This factor was the keypoint that helped the homosapiens to evolve, they could all be found in gathered communities and this was what made them survive and evolve to be what they are today. We are stronger when we are together, and if humanity teams up again and gathers their help and ideas together with all of them having the single goal to survive, maybe they can pass through The Great Filter and survive the cosmic extinction.
I don't know about you, reading about this chapter, but as for me...I have faith on them.
