"On your feet... devil."
Damian commanded. The possessed creature rose, its neck twisting with a series of unsettling clicks. Damian took a deep breath and hurled his sledgehammer. The creature dodged and charged, and Damian met it head-on.
They exchanged blows-Damian with his rinn-charged fists and the possessed with its raw strength. Each strike landed with brutal force. Damian dodged a punch and delivered a highly charged rinn punch, shattering its reinforced teeth and piercing its chest.
"Checkmate!" he thought, grinning triumphantly at the possessed.
"I hit its soul with pure rinn. This is my win... Jeremy!"
The possessed stood motionless for a moment, which signified the heavy blow it had received, but then in a moments notice, its chest regenerated swiftly.
"No way!"
Damian exclaimed, agaped by the possessed's regenerative speed.
Wasting no time, it charges right up to Damian who instinctively attempts to jab the possessed. However, the possessed openly accepts the attack, letting him land his intended hit.
However, right before Damian connected with his hit, its teeth down, sited on its chest, opens up, biting down on Damian's hand, nearly severing it in the process.
Damian screamed aloud in pain and with a desperately bit onto its neck in retaliation, ripping a chunk of flesh from its neck with his teeth. The creature, in retaliatation, realeses him from its teeth hold, hurling away for safety.
"Impossible." Damian muttered.
"I got its soul...how is it still standing?!"
Damian was exhausted, his rinn nearly depleted, and his body battered from the possessed's strikes. He might have been weakened, but if he took one moment away from his aggressor, he was well aware he would lose his life.
"Where the hell is Eddy?!" He wondered inwardly .
It was then that he realized a thought he had so wished was not true. He had heard a loud thud a while ago before the possessed had approached him, so perhaps the possessed had gotten to him and consequently, had taken his life.
"If this beast took out Eddy... do I really stand a chance?" Damian questioned himself, as a frightful look drew upon his face.
The possessed menancely licked the blood from its teeth and smiles mischievously at Damian.
"Is this it? Is this where I die?" Damian muttered, taking a few steps back from the possessed.
" If Eddy couldn't beat this... then I'll surpass Eddy and exorcise you right here, right now!" he declared, channeling his remaining rinn into his hands.
"Technique activation: Plane manipulation." Damian uttered.
In that very instance, the possessed charged, forging Damian's sledgehammer right from thing air, as it had done with Eddy's katana. But something was wrong, or rather, was right for the exorcist- the distance between them which seemly had stretched endlessly, was shortened in an instance, drawing the possessed directly close to Damian.
Damian had manipulated the plane, shortening the gap. That was the power behind his technique 'plane manipulation'. A technique which enabled him to bend the earthly planes of the world to his will. Therefore, he had turned the environmental factor to his side.
He closed in and delivered a rinn-charged blow to the possessed's gut, which forcefully sends the creature flying into the wall at the other side of the room.
Wasting no time, It swiftly rose to its feet and charges up to him once again as it tried to attack, but once again was victimized by Damian's technique which trapped it in an endless loop, unable to reach him. No matter how fast it ran or how much it intended to reach Damian, the space within them would simply not close up, as though it was running on a treadmill.
Damian employing the plane's
shifting dimensions to his advantage once again, immediately shortens the distance between them once again and in that swift moment, he lands hit after hit to the possessed until, he finally punches through its chest with a single thrust.
"Now we're even." he said with a confident grin on his face.
Damian, employing all his strength, tossed the creature into another room.
Regardless of the effect he had laid on the possessed, he was more than certain that the possessed was not down or out, and the raging rinn radiating from the room he had thrown it into was only a confirmation to his speculation. Therefore, he progressed forward in search of the possessed, dragging his sledgehammer along the floor as he got into the room, and there the possessed laid on the floor, motionless and vulnerable as it awaited a complete regeneration.
It wasn't stationary by will, rather Damian's attack had had a greater effect on it than it could have imagined. The beast might have been immune, but it was still a possessed. Therefore, it's heart was still a weak spot.
Luckily, Damian's last attack had impacted its heart gravely, making it completely vulnerable as its entire rinn production was based on its heart.
"Die." he yelled as he swiftly raised his sledgehammer.
Employing all his might, he smashes the hammer into the possessed's heart. The beast screeches aloud, whincing loudly in pain and in a short moment, it fell silent.
Damian had done it. He had surpassed Eddy and exorcised the possessed. He fell to his knees, panting heavily, a smile on his face as he appreciated his success in the battle. Ofcourse the battle wasn't as gruesome as he had expected, but what mattered was that he had triumphed in battle, and now truly deserved a sip of that whiskey now.
Rising up to his feet, he progressed towards the stairs in search of the study he had encountered thr possessed in.
As he progressed, the sound footstep coming from above the stairs immediately gained his attention, causing him to raise his gaze in search of the source.
"Is that you, Eddy? Did you see? I've finally surpassed-"
The disheartening sight his eyes had met with quickly dumbfounded him, leaving him speechless and honestly terrified.
Jeremy's possessed, which he was sure he had properly exorcised, now stood afront of him atop the staircase, fully regenerated and ready to battle.
"No...." Damian muttered.
Before he could comprehend the situation, it swiftly charged up to him and with a single heavy blow to his face, it sends him crashing into a wall a few meters away from it.
The creature whilst slowly approached the fallen exorcist, stretched out its arm into the air and once again forges Damian's sledgehammer.
Damian sat, bathed in his blood from his head and bruised from all thr attacks he had endured, breathing heavily as he patiently awaited his demise.
"Sorry, Eddy. Turns out I'm still the same old weakling. I gave it my all." he muttered with a soft smile as he casted his gaze to the floor in defeat.
"I guess you gave it your all too... but it was stronger. You were right, leaving the girl outside was the best decision. At least no one else has to die."
Pausing his thoughts for a moment, he raises his glance to the possessed, sighting the being which now stood afront of him.
"Anyway... I'll see you in a minute... just wait..." Damian added and peacefully shut his eyes, awaiting his death.
The possessed, without hesitation, immediately raised the sledgehammer with intentions to bash his head open.
"...Eddy." he concluded his thought.
The creature swung a devastating blow on Damian, but right at that moment, its forearm was immediately severed, sending the sledgehammer falling to the ground.
"Don't even think for a second..."
The possessed, still unthreatened by the matter, turned to the source of the attack only to sight Sky, with her blades drawn and ready for a clash.
"That I'd let you kill my favorite elder!" she declared with a resolute look written all over her face.
