Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Problems After Problems

After the fight, Yaxoc found himself in a classroom with only six other students, the teacher none other than Mr. Hight. As he entered, Mr. Hight glanced over and greeted him, "Hey there, Yaxoc. I assume you know which class you'll be staying in."

Yaxoc nodded, eyeing the other students curiously.

Mr. Hight continued, gesturing toward the group, "These are your new classmates." He then introduced each of them: "Haiko, Marcus, Merlin, Haika, Joseph, and Baylee."

Yaxoc raised an eyebrow and muttered, "Wow, almost all of them have weird names."

Without missing a beat, Mr. Hight smirked and replied, "Like yours, Yaxoc."

Yaxoc shot him a quick glare but turned away with a shrug. "Yeah, yeah, whatever," he mumbled, clearly unimpressed but settling into the reality of his new class.

Yaxoc took a seat next to Marcus, who wore a black drip jacket, a black ninja mask, a tendy hat, black pants, and had shaggy brown hair. His skin was pale, and his expression seemed perpetually uninterested.

Yaxoc glanced at him and remarked, "I swear I know you from somewhere... Marcus."

Marcus turned to Yaxoc with a bored look. "You know me? Pfft, yeah right."

Yaxoc facepalmed, clearly annoyed. "I'm dead serious, dude. I know you from somewhere."

Marcus dismissed him. "Whatever keeps your mind sane, Yaxoc—" He paused, realization dawning on his face. "Wait... you're definitely familiar."

Yaxoc snapped his fingers. "Yep, finally got it, dumbass."

Without warning, Marcus slapped Yaxoc on the back. "YAXOC! IT'S BEEN SO LONG!"

Yaxoc grunted in pain, noticing the rest of the class staring at them. "The hell was that for?! Now everyone's staring at us!"

Marcus grinned, unbothered. "Come on, Yaxoc. We used to slap each other in middle schoo—" He was cut off by Mr. Hight's stern voice.

"Okay, enough." Mr. Hight's tone was firm. "There's something important we need to address."

The room fell silent as everyone focused on Mr. Hight.

He continued, "There have been rising crime rates since Yaxoc joined this school. It has something to do with his power." Mr. Hight shot a glance at Yaxoc before looking at the others. "I need all of you to protect Yaxoc from any high-tier enemies."

Haika, a girl with blue and yellow hair, matching shiny eyes, and the standard school uniform with purple stripes, raised her hand. "Excuse me, is there something special about Yaxoc?"

Yaxoc watched quietly, deciding not to interfere.

Mr. Hight nodded. "Yes, there is. His power level increases dramatically. In fact, it's higher than Marcus's."

Haika nodded slowly, accepting the explanation without further questions.

Mr. Hight scanned the room, his gaze intense. "As saviors, our mission is to stop any criminal threats using our magic. With Yaxoc on our side, it'll be easier."

The students remained focused, listening intently.

Mr. Hight finished, "Trust the process. Our goal remains the same." He then dismissed them. "Class is over. You're all free to go."

With that, everyone stood up and left the room, leaving Yaxoc with more to think about.

Yaxoc walked alongside Marcus, continuing their conversation.

"So… I heard you got the rebooted chromatic shards too," Yaxoc said, curious.

Marcus nodded casually. "Yeah, I did. Wasn't expecting it, though." He shrugged. "Kinda weird how that happened."

Yaxoc raised an eyebrow. "Have you noticed anything different since?"

Marcus shrugged again. "Not really. I mean, the teachers seem to respect me a lot more for no real reason. Guess it comes with the shard."

The two continued chatting for what felt like hours, their conversation lighthearted until they suddenly bumped into a Z+ rank student.

The guy, with a red fire-patterned jacket, blazing orange hair, burning eyes, and black pants, gave them a cold look. "Watch your step, scums."

Yaxoc glared back, muttering, "Jeez, what's his problem?"

Marcus, staying calm, sighed. "Don't engage. That guy's known for his short fuse. His name's Theodore Flamy."

Yaxoc smirked at the name. "Theodore? Seriously? What, did his parents name him after the chipmunk from Alvin and the Chipmunks?"

Marcus immediately slapped Yaxoc on the arm. "Cut it out, dude. He's Z+ ranked, with all Z+ stats. Trust me, you don't wanna mess with him."

Yaxoc winced at the slap but shrugged it off. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

Just then, Luna appeared, running toward them. "Hey, Yaxoc!"

Yaxoc turned to her, slightly annoyed. "What do you want?"

Before Luna could answer, Marcus smirked. "Oh, looks like you've got yourself a cou—"

Yaxoc slapped him on the back. "Don't," he said with a low, threatening tone.

Marcus, realizing he went too far, quickly composed himself and stayed quiet.

Luna chuckled at their exchange. "Anyway, wanna join me for some enemy hunting? You could meet my sister while we're at it."

Yaxoc thought for a second and then nodded. "Sure, why not."

Luna looked over at Marcus. "You coming too?"

Marcus took a moment, then nodded. "Yeah, I'm in."

Luna grinned. "Awesome! I'll go tell her!" she said, dashing off.

Yaxoc and Marcus watched her sprint away.

"She's pretty hyperactive, huh?" Marcus remarked.

"More than just hyperactive," Yaxoc replied, crossing his arms.

Marcus gave him a sly smile. "You say that about every girl, Yaxoc. Just admit it, man."

Yaxoc shrugged, unbothered. "Not like I care. Anyway, you up for lunch?"

Marcus nodded eagerly. "Hell yeah, I am."

After finishing lunch, Yaxoc and Marcus were jolted by a loud sound coming from the hallway. Marcus immediately sensed danger, his expression tightening.

"Yaxoc, get ready," Marcus warned, his voice serious.

Yaxoc glanced at him, puzzled. "What the—?"

"Just prepare yourself. I can feel something... enemies are on their way," Marcus said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"Alright, alright," Yaxoc muttered, standing up.

Without hesitation, they dashed out into the chaos, seeing students and saviors already engaged in battle. Amidst the frenzy, two high-tier enemies emerged from the shadows, standing ominously.

The first powerful enemy, with sharp eyes and an intimidating presence, glanced at Yaxoc and Marcus. "So, you're not the only one who managed to collect the shards, huh?" he said with a sneer.

The second enemy chuckled darkly, eyes gleaming with arrogance. "You brats don't stand a chance against us."

Yaxoc and Marcus exchanged glares with the enemies.

"Assholes..." Yaxoc muttered under his breath.

"I'd love to beat them into the ground," Marcus added, cracking his knuckles.

Without wasting another second, they charged at the enemies.

Marcus took on the first enemy, who had all S-rank stats, a formidable opponent. Meanwhile, Yaxoc faced the second, an enemy known for its insane S+ rank speed, clocking in at a staggering 775.654 MPH.

The second enemy dashed at Yaxoc, moving at blinding speed, but Yaxoc dodged every attack, countering with a powerful roundhouse kick that sent shockwaves through the air.

"Ugh...!" the enemy grunted, barely holding his stance. "His force... it's unreal. Is he capable of leveling buildings or entire cities by himself?!"

Yaxoc smirked, dodging the enemy's laser attacks with ease. "Too easy," he said, before landing two rapid punches followed by a devastating blow that sent the enemy crashing down, knocked out cold.

Meanwhile, Marcus was locked in combat with the first enemy. Summoning his magic, Marcus shouted, "Light Magic: Blinding Rage!" A brilliant beam of light shot out, temporarily blinding his opponent.

"SHIT!" the enemy roared, blinded and staggering.

Taking advantage of the moment, Marcus delivered a powerful kick, sending the enemy flying into five parked cars with a deafening crash.

Yaxoc, having just finished his fight, glanced over. "Wow, impressive," he remarked.

Marcus shrugged, wiping sweat from his brow. "Yeah, that was close."

The two exchanged a fist bump.

"Nice combat, dude," Marcus said.

"You too, although I wasn't expecting you to use magic," Yaxoc replied with a smirk.

Marcus chuckled, looking around as the battlefield quieted. "Seems like everyone else has finished them off. Let's go chill."

Yaxoc nodded. "Good idea. Let's go."

With the fight over, the two headed off, ready to relax after the intense battle.
