Marcus, Yaxoc, and Luna embarked on their enemy-hunting mission, scouring the areas where enemies frequently spawned.
"These are the perfect spots for enemies to spawn," Luna said confidently, scanning the surroundings.
Yaxoc, shrugging casually, asked, "Hey Luna, where's your sister?"
Luna glanced at him with a small smile. "She's sleeping right now. I guess she stayed up pretty late."
Marcus sighed, shaking his head. "That sucks."
Before they could continue, an enemy suddenly dashed toward them at high speed, revealing its S-rank capabilities. The enemy aimed a powerful punch at the group, but Luna reacted instantly, blocking the attack with her tail.
"Gotcha," Luna said with a smirk as she countered the enemy's move effortlessly.
Yaxoc chuckled. "Impressive reflexes."
Marcus grinned. "Looks like this hunt just got interesting."
The enemy, now clearly a scientist, wore a white lab coat, black pants, and had sharp black hair and piercing blue eyes.
"Wait, what the hell is a scientist doing here?" Yaxoc asked, baffled.
Marcus narrowed his eyes, pointing to the syringe clutched in the scientist's hand. "It's not just any scientist. Looks like this guy's here to sneak up on people and inject them with something. Probably trying to get our samples."
"Yeah, I can see that," Luna added with a nod. She released her tail's grip on the enemy, only to land a devastating blow to its gut.
The enemy grunted, staggering from the hit, but before anyone could react, he vanished in the blink of an eye.
Marcus tensed. "That's not S-Rank speed… he just disappeared."
"Watch out!" Yaxoc shouted.
Suddenly, a torrent of foam-like substance sprayed at them. The trio quickly dodged it, barely escaping the unexpected attack.
"Wait... it's just elephant toothpaste," Yaxoc remarked, confused by the seemingly harmless chemical reaction.
"It's not just elephant toothpaste, Yaxoc," Luna corrected him, her eyes narrowing. "That foam is laced with a poison-type chemical. I've seen this before."
Marcus clenched his fists, his usual calm demeanor fading. "Enough of this. Let's just kick his ass." Without hesitation, he charged at the enemy.
"I'm with you!" Yaxoc joined, running in alongside him.
Luna stood back, watching the fight unfold, prepared to jump in if necessary.
Yaxoc traded quick blows with the scientist, his fists flying rapidly as the scientist struggled to keep up. Sensing an opening, Yaxoc leaped back.
"It's yours, Marcus!" Yaxoc shouted, giving Marcus the perfect opportunity to strike.
"On it!" Marcus responded, launching forward and landing six powerful punches, each one charged with magic. "Fire Magic: Flamethrower!" A torrent of flames erupted from his hands, but the enemy, with surprising agility, dodged the fiery blast.
Before the scientist could react, Yaxoc appeared in mid-air above him, delivering a powerful sledgehammer-like strike directly to the enemy's head. The blow hit with a bone-shaking force, sending the scientist sprawling to the ground.
"Nice job, Yaxoc," Marcus said, a grin of satisfaction spreading across his face.
Yaxoc nodded, breathing a bit heavily. "That should keep him down for a while."
The enemy, despite being injured, managed to stand up shakily. Yaxoc turned to Marcus with a grin. "Hey… how about we beat him down? For good?"
Marcus smirked, excitement building. "A beatdown? Hell yeah!"
The two prepared for an onslaught, fists charged with energy. Without wasting time, they launched their synchronized attack, raining down a flurry of punches on the helpless enemy. Each hit landed with bone-crushing force, the combined power making the ground tremble.
"Friendship Technique: TEAMWORK FIST!" Marcus shouted dramatically.
As they finished the barrage, they wound up for the final punch—a blow so powerful it sent the enemy flying through the air, crashing through multiple buildings, until he finally lay unconscious.
Luna watched in awe, her eyes wide. "That's about… 50 buildings…" She shook her head in disbelief. "And who's fixing it tomorrow?"
Marcus chuckled nervously, "Yeah… let's not talk about that."
Yaxoc shrugged nonchalantly. "Who cares? No one will know it was us."
Luna sighed. "You guys are impossible."
After finishing off a few more enemies, the trio found themselves face-to-face with a much larger threat.
"Oh no, I think we've stumbled upon Rammurth…" Luna said, her voice uneasy.
"Rammurth? Who the hell is that?" Yaxoc asked, completely unfazed.
"Rammurth is an alien-like enemy, a humanoid dragon capable of breathing in space. He's been a major player since he was hired by the enemy back in the year 304. His influence nearly wiped out the saviors protecting this city back then," Marcus explained, tension growing in his voice.
Yaxoc raised an eyebrow, still unimpressed. "Yeah, cool story. What's his stat line?"
"All S+," Marcus said, narrowing his eyes at Yaxoc's nonchalant attitude. "He's classified as a Danger Type 5 enemy."
Yaxoc scoffed. "Pfft. Too easy."
Marcus shot him a warning look. "You're underestimating him."
Before Yaxoc could reply, a deep voice rumbled from ahead. "Silence." Rammurth stepped closer, his hulking form casting a long shadow. His black robe, adorned with a red skull symbol on the back, billowed in the air. His dark dragon tail whipped behind him, and his eerie green eyes gleamed with deadly focus.
"Yaxoc, you better take this seriously," Marcus warned, dropping into a battle stance.
Yaxoc cracked his knuckles, grinning. "You don't need to tell me twice. Just watch how I end this."
Rammurth chuckled, a sinister sound. "Your arrogance will be your downfall, human."
Yaxoc shrugged, taunting. "Whatever helps you sleep at night, 'Rammurth.'"
With a snarl, Rammurth lunged at Yaxoc, unleashing a barrage of lightning-fast punches. But Yaxoc blocked them all effortlessly and countered with a devastating roundhouse kick, forcing Rammurth back a few steps. Yet, the dragon-man barely flinched.
Luna trembled slightly, her usual confidence shaken. "Be careful, Yaxoc. Rammurth's not just strong—his magic is deadly."
"Relax, catgirl. I've got this." Yaxoc replied, his cocky grin never fading.
Without hesitation, Yaxoc charged forward, his fist colliding with Rammurth in a punch so powerful it sent shockwaves through the ground. The very earth trembled beneath their feet.
Marcus joined the fray, summoning his magic. "Ice Technique: Ice Splashes!"
Shards of ice shot toward Rammurth, freezing him in place. But with a simple breath, Rammurth melted the ice with a surge of flame.
"Pathetic," Rammurth sneered, before launching himself at Marcus. In an instant, his leg connected with Marcus' chest, sending him flying through the air, crashing into a nearby building.
"Marcus!" Yaxoc shouted, his cockiness fading as a spark of anger ignited within him. His fists clenched tight. "You…!"
Fueled by rage, Yaxoc unleashed a brutal combination of blows, landing each one with crushing force. The final punch sent Rammurth rocketing through the air, skidding across the ground before slamming into a building, leaving a massive crater in its wake.
Rammurth groaned, blood dripping from his mouth as he struggled to his feet. "Damn it…" he muttered, his voice filled with fury as he shakily stood once again. His once-dominant form now staggered, but far from defeated.
Marcus stood up slowly, watching as Yaxoc fought Rammurth with an intensity he hadn't shown before.
"I didn't think he'd actually take it seriously…" Marcus muttered under his breath, still surprised by the shift in Yaxoc's attitude.
"Marcus!" Luna ran over to him, her face filled with concern.
Marcus glanced up at her, giving a tired smile. "Oh, hey Luna…"
Luna immediately began inspecting his injuries, her eyes wide with worry. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt anywhere serious?"
With a groan, Marcus waved her off. "Just a few bruises... I'm fine."
Luna didn't look convinced, but she gently placed her hands over his wounds, using her magic. "Let me help. It's not much, but this should help you get back on your feet."
Marcus felt a soothing warmth spread over his body as her magic worked its way through him. He stood up more steadily, the pain fading. "Thanks, Luna," he said, offering her a grateful nod.
Before Luna could respond, Marcus started moving toward the fight again.
"Marcus! Stop!" she called after him, but he didn't listen. He was determined to rejoin the battle alongside Yaxoc.
"Don't worry, Luna," he said over his shoulder, giving her a reassuring smile. "I'll be more careful this time."
With a burst of speed (stated to be SS+), Marcus dashed back into the fray, where Yaxoc was still locked in fierce combat with Rammurth.
Yaxoc exchanged blow after blow with the powerful alien, their clashes sending shockwaves through the area.
"Yaxoc, hold still for a sec!" Marcus shouted, preparing his next attack. He unleashed his magic. "Ice Magic: Ice Splashes!"
Rammurth's eyes widened in shock as sharp icicles pierced through the air, stabbing into him from every direction. "GAH!" he screamed in agony, his defenses crumbling under the unexpected assault.
Seizing the moment, Yaxoc delivered a final, devastating punch, sending Rammurth crashing into the ground. The impact created a massive explosion, leaving a crater in its wake, with Rammurth lying motionless in the center.
"There," Yaxoc said, brushing off his hands as he turned to Marcus. "How the hell did you manage to stand up?"
Marcus smirked. "Luna healed me."
"Oh yeah, that catgirl…" Yaxoc responded, though his tone remained unimpressed.
Yaxoc landed softly on the ground just as Luna came running over.
"Guys! I'm so glad you're both okay!" Luna exclaimed, her usual cheerfulness back.
"Yeah, we made it," Yaxoc said, giving her a nod.
Marcus nodded as well, appreciating her healing.
Yaxoc glanced over at Rammurth, who was still unconscious in the crater. "So… what do we do with him?"
Marcus shrugged. "Call the authorities, I guess. They'll take care of him."
Luna nodded. "That's probably the best plan, but we'll also have to report this to Mr. Hight."
Marcus groaned in frustration. "Ugh, that's the worst part. He's so strict when it comes to enemy hunting."
Yaxoc didn't comment, merely shrugging as if it didn't matter much to him.
With Rammurth dealt with, the trio decided to head back to their apartments, leaving behind the battlefield and basking in the victory, ready to relax after a long day.
