"Alex you little shit why can't you ever do anything right." An old man said angrily raising a beer bottle above his head.
As Alex a small malnourished 13-year-old boy was charging at the old man he looked up only to see a bottle flying right toward his head.
Bammm the bottle struck, and blood was dripping down Alex's head.
'Whyyyyy does my life have to be this way? I've never done anything wrong.' he thought as his vision faded.
As his vision faded, he couldn't help but think of his entire 13 years of life. He was abandoned as a baby and left at an orphanage. His first memories of the orphanage weren't all bad. He played with children of his age and ate whatever little food they had. Despite the circumstances, Alex was happy and always had this shine to his eyes.
But it all changed when he turned 6 a new director bought the orphanage and that's when his life turned to shit.
The director was a 60-year-old man with a rugged and mean look. The children never learned his name and always called him director.
As soon as the director took over, he made Alex and the children do all the cleaning, and cooking, and he even made them work. He made the children go out and sell used goods on the street. Worst of all he took all the money they earned.
Alex was brimming with hatred for the director. Some of his friends had even gotten sick from the overwork and malnutrition.
Alex and the children soon became tired of this and took a stand. They stopped doing what they were told and that's when the beatings began.
If he and the children didn't listen the director would beat them till they could barely move. He would then lock them in the basement till they gave in and did as they were told.
Alex lived the next 3 years of his life in fear of the director. Until an officer came by because of a noise complaint. Alex tried to tell the officer of the director's crimes.
But he soon found out how cruel the world could be. The officer was a friend of the directors. So, no matter what he said, the officer gave zero shits.
After the officer left Alex's life began to spiral further down, he became the sole target of the director's beatings, and it only became worse as the director started drinking.
Alex's only solace was through novels and fantasy stories. He could escape his cruel reality and immerse himself in one of his liking. However, even that was short-lived as the director burned all the books he had.
Alex finally couldn't handle it. "You DAMMM old man why can't you just leave me alone," he said with anguish in his voice.
"Do you think that I would treat you well? No, you are nothing but mere slaves to do my bidding." the director mocked.
Appalled at how shameless the director was Alex stormed straight at him. But before he could even land a hit on him he was stopped and dragged into the basement only to receive a beating that would leave him half dead.
On this day Alex lost the light in his eyes that was once there. Alex continued living as a zombie not caring about anything around him and just doing what he was told.
Living his life with no purpose caused him to mess up a lot of things which only infuriated the director more. Causing the beatings to increase and Alex to wish for death even more.
This situation only changed when he turned thirteen and he finally discovered why the director bought the orphanage.
Alex always thought that all his friends had been adopted and had finally escaped this hell hole. But he soon found out he was wrong.
All of his friends have been sold to other families to become slaves and it was finally his turn. Alex finding this out was outraged and the light that was not seen in his eyes reappeared but more sinister and dark. If you looked into his eyes, it was as if you were staring into an endless abyss.
Alex vowed that he would avenge his friends who got taken and protect those who remained.
The day he would be sold soon came and Alex finally enacted his plan. He gathered all the flame accelerants in the orphanage and spread them across the house. He pulled the fire alarm and screamed "Fire fire fire run the house is gonna burn down." Just as he made sure everyone escaped. The director came running at him with a beer bottle in hand.
Alex seeing this roared "If I'm going to die so are you!!!!" He lit the match and charged at the director.
The director angered by his actions yelled "Alex you little shit why can't you ever do anything right." and he threw the bottle straight towards Alex causing him to fall to the ground and set the house ablaze.
Alex closed his eyes with unwillingness and anger and finally finished his recollection and died.
Alex soon awakened in a nebula of stars with one bright star almost calling out to him. 'What happened to me? Where am I?' Alex thought
'Haaaaa looks like I died. Hahahahha that old bastard must be dead too no one can survive a fire like that.' He thought
'At least I could save everyone from his clutches. I wonder if all those novels are true and I'll reincarnate.'
As soon as Alex thought of reincarnation, he felt this pull from the depths of his soul and was flown straight into one of the nearby stars and his vision started to fade once again.
But before he could pass out he heard a voice. "I could only reach you after death. Why does fate pull these tricks on me." The voice said with anguish.
"Looks like time is running out. I can't say much but please live your next life well and without regrets. I won't be with you long but please find me my %^* *^%**%#%^*." The voice said with care.
Alex confused by the mysterious voice couldn't help but feel a connection with it. But before he could hear the last part of its sentence his vision finally faded
