'Ahhhhh why is it so painful!' Alex thought trying to gain his bearings
Alex rolled around screaming in pain. When the pain finally stopped, he looked around only to see one of the most luxurious rooms he had ever seen.
The room had a crazy 20-foot ceiling with a dazzling diamond chandelier that was almost blinding. The walls seemed to gleam with a golden sheen, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable, like resting on a soft, pillowy cloud.
When Alex finished marveling at the room he stood up and walked to the mirror only to get a surprise of a lifetime.
'Holy shit this is me! I can't believe I look this good.' Alex thought with his jaw wide open
Alex's long, luscious silver hair shimmered in the light, adding an extra air of charm to his aura. At 5 feet 9 inches tall with a lean build, his physique was perfectly proportioned but no muscle could be seen. His eyes, once a deep, dark black, now reflected the infinite expanse of a cosmic sky, a huge difference from their previous abyssal depths.
After taking in his looks one final time Alex finally wondered why he was an adult.
'Shouldn't I have reincarnated as a baby why am I fully grown?'
[I can answer that] A mysterious and elegant voice rang out inside Alex's head
'Shit, what the hell was that. Is it my golden finger just like I read from all those novels'
[Host watch your language. And yes, I am your golden finger] said the system
'Wow, I can't believe all those novels are true. Can you tell me how I got here and why I can't remember anything from this life'
[Host I was the reason for your late arrival and the reason you don't have your current life memories.]
'Huh why is that' Alex said with anger
[sigh Host calm down. It's not what you're thinking. I had to fuse with your soul to give you full access to my abilities.]
'What the fuck you fused with my soul. Who gave you that right?'
[Host would you just let me finish? I am in no way harmful to you. I can be removed whenever you want. It will just take your soul a while to heal the damage.]
'I guess that makes sense. But I still don't trust you.'
[You don't have to trust me right away but only know that I serve to help fulfill your desires.] The system said with care
Alex honestly couldn't believe what he was hearing. He sat in silence contemplating his situation and concluded that it was best to just trust the system for now.
'Okay, I'll try to trust you. But you still never told me why I can't remember my current life memories' said Alex questioningly
'Sigh this host can never let me explain anything before he questions me. I'm regretting choosing him.' Thought the system
[The reason you can't remember anything is like I said before I needed time to fuse with your soul. During that time your soul stayed dormant letting your current body operate and live out its life. You can think of it as a temporary autopilot. I can upload your life's memories to you now. Be warned it's gonna be painful.]
'I don't quite understand but whatever do it.'
The system following Alex's command uploaded his memories causing Alex to scream in pain while clutching his head.
'Shit shit shit my brain feels like it's gonna split in half' Alex roared before he passed out
(3 hours later)
Alex finally woke up and couldn't believe his situation. He was now in a modern fantasy world where strength reigns supreme and those born without talent are worthless.
He was the only son of James Argoth the biggest businessman of Sky City. Funny enough Alex kept his name and was named Alexander Argoth.
Unfortunately, his mother disappeared after Alex's 5th birthday. Causing his family to split apart.
James heartbroken and confused dedicated his time to his work to forget about his wife's disappearance.
James spoiled Alex rotten. Whatever Alex wanted he got. This caused him to become an arrogant prick and spend whatever money his dad gave him on useless things.
Once Alex turned 15 he started to cause trouble for his father. Whether it was drinking or bullying the weak his father took care of it. James really loved his son and would do anything for him. But that also blinded him to see what Alex had been doing.
Until Alex accidentally killed someone while drinking. His father took care of it but that truly opened his eyes to see what Alex had become and he couldn't do anything because he loved Alex and didn't want to see him in pain.
So, Alex continued to drink and cause trouble while his father cleaned up all his messes. It's a miracle that Alex hasn't offended any awakeners yet.
Alex finally finished digesting his current situation and couldn't help but sigh.
'God why was my substitute such an ass. Wasn't he supposed to act like me?'
[Host the substitute is not you it was just meant to live your life until you could take control again. Its actions were based on how it was raised.]
'You're not wrong my father truly loves me too much. He never disciplined me. The only memory I have of being disciplined is when my mother was still here' thought Alex with sadness.
[Host it is best not to dwell on your past actions but to think of how you will act from now on.]
Alex didn't respond but was thinking about how different his life was compared to his last life.
'In my last life, I was pretty much a prisoner in the orphanage and couldn't live how I wanted. I could never feel the love of family. But in this life, it's different I could have freedom and a family that cares for me. So, I'm gonna fix what my substitute has done and live with freedom.'
'I won't let anyone break apart my family like the director. If this world runs on power, I'm gonna bring my family right to the top so no one can harm us again.' Alex declared with determination.
[Determination recognized beginning the start of the host's first desire]
