Chapter 2: Welcome To Hell!
"What in the..." Marco thought he was hallucinating as he looked around him, trying to see who was messing with him but upon seeing that the others had similar reactions, he calmed down.
[This First Trial Shall Judge Whether You Have What It Takes To Live In Hell Or Not.]
[Use The Word 'Status' Internally Or Outwardly To View Your Traits; They Will Be Your Main Weapons For As Long As You're Here.]
[All There Is To Say Is Survive!]
[To Hell!]
And the voice disappeared as suddenly as it appeared, with the group not understanding just what happened.
Zen, upon regaining his composure, remembered the words whoever the owner of that voice spoke of and called 'Status' in his mind.
A second later, an obsidian holograph with red cracks all over it appeared in front of him.
'Seems pretty hellish to me.' he thought with a slight smile
[<----------Status---------->]
<Name: Zen Zen>
<Gender/Age: Male/19 Year Old.>
<Race: Human>
<Soul Authority: F-Rank>
<Skills: None.>
<Techniques: None.>
<Trait: ...>
[<---------------------------->]
'Oho...' looking at his status, Zen's entire demeanor changed as a glint appeared on his eyes for a second, unseen by all but Dali.
Shivering in fear, Dali quickly called for his status in his mind and did his best to ignore everything around him.
His eyes also shone for a second as he saw his trait, but that immediately turned into disappointment.
"Oho! Hahaha! What a good trait, honey; I'm sure you will love it." Marco suddenly started laughing as, after calming himself down and following the advice of the voice, he opened his status to see his trait.
"Umm..." Sabrina kept her silence while looking at her husband, trying to convey a message that the overly excited uncle didn't catch.
"It's charm resistance, haha. What do you think? I'm pretty loyal, huh?" He said with pride and a wide smile.
While Melissa and Dali turned to look at him, one amazed and another amused, Sabrina wasn't quite happy, but she quickly sighed and smiled at her husband without saying a single word.
She then went close to him and whispered something into his ears.
"REALLY?! Oh my god, that's freaking amazing!" He suddenly shouted as his happiness knew no bounds, knowing his wife had more chances at living in this likely dangerous... hell.
"Shhh!" She put a finger on his lips, trying to shut him up, as the husband finally understood for once.
The others looked at the couple and Melissa smiled at how cute they were, while Dali was wondering if he should also tell them his trait.
"What's your trait, Dali?" Melissa looked at him and with an unnaturally charming wink, she asked.
"Ah, me? I- it's Animal Communication." He was slightly embarrassed at how useless his trait was, saying that it only served to make him look less manly in front of a beauty such as Melissa.
"Oh! How cute. That trait really suits you, I'm sure you will make good use of it." Melissa put her hand on her mouth as she smiled charmingly.
"You think so? Thank you." Dali smiled brightly as Melissa's compliment put him at ease.
Melissa noticed the gaze Dali gave her as she grinned internally.
She then turned to look at Sabrina, Knowing that there was no way this cautious woman would tell them her skill or fall for her 'charm casting' trait, she changed her target to Zen.
Zen was deep in thought when Melissa jumped at him.
"Zen~, What's your trait?" She hugged him with her arms while asking, gaining a few surprised looks from the onlooker as well as from Zen himself, who was startled out of his thoughts.
"Huh, me? I got trap detection." He answered with a slightly surprised face, not knowing how to act with a beauty hugging him, although this had nothing to do with him blurting out his trait like that.
"Hmm?" Melissa had a dumb expression on her face, as she didn't expect Zen to answer her just like that.
'Maybe I had the wrong impression of him? Ah, I'm just too hot; I forgot.' she sarcastically thought as she got out of Zen and put on a wide smile.
"Oh my god, that's so amazing. We will definitely need a trait like this; I just feel it." She said as she enthusiastically tapped Zen, whose face showed a smile on his shoulder, time after time.
"Thank you, big sis." Zen, with a smile that almost melted Melissa's heart, expressed his gratitude.
"How cute can you be? It's fine~ I'm just stating the truth." Melissa pushed Zen's shoulder while putting her other hand on her mouth.
"Stop flirting over there, you too; we have to think of a plan to get out of here." Marco smiled as he called for Melissa and Zen.
The two turned as Zen was embarrassed at Marco's words while Melissa was just enjoying his expression. They then looked at Dali, who didn't look so pleased with their actions, and didn't give him another second of their time as Zen moved closer to the couple.
"Well, first, I think we should get out and slowly explore our surrounding to learn more." He said and stopped to leave room for the others to reply.
"Yeah, the first thing we should do is choose a leader that can lead us all the way and be the decision maker." Melissa came to his side and looked at Marco as she spoke.
Sabrina also looked at her husband, who puffed his chest out and put on a wide smile.
"Leave it to me!" he said, pride gushing out of him in excess.
Sabrina chuckled, and Zen still had a smile on his face, while Melissa retained her usual demeanor.
"What should we do right now?" she asked.
"We don't have any food or water; I don't know if this... hell, or whatever this place is has something like that, so we have to find out." As soon as Marco calmed down, he showed his actual wit, proving that he was truly capable of being a leader.
"We should move as soon as possible in this case." Dali, who was silent on the side, finally spoke as the group turned to look at him.
"He's right, honey, we can't stay here for long." Sabrina looked at her husband and said.
Marco looked at his wife and sighed before he pumped his chest once again.
"You guys, stay behind me; let's go." He ordered as he moved to the front of the group, heading towards the exit.
The group followed closely behind him as the second Marco's leg was placed outside the prison...
*Fwshhhhh* *Slash*
"KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
