Chapter 8 - The Shadow Duo!

Chapter 8: The Shadow Duo!

"Give us a break already!" Melissa's expression turned ugly as she looked at one gloomy fella wearing a black robe slowly walking towards them.

He came from a different entrance than the one they came from, and he definitely was not here with good intentions; this they could guess with the bloody dagger he was licking with a crazed expression on his face.

"Who the fuck are you, bastard?" Sabrina, who was already on her wits end, got up and cursed at the coming hoodie guy.

"Me? Just a lonely introvert; don't mind me, dear~" He said this as his eyes squinted disgustingly.

The group got up from their place as Dali and Lisa were shivering in fright.

"Don't you dare come any closer." Diana's tone turned serious as she threatened the guy with one of her hands aimed at him.

"Hehehe, and who's going to stop me, cutie? Just wait for Daddy here to deal with these annoying fellas and I will ENJOY YOU!" He shouted as he suddenly picked up the speed, moving sideways to evade whatever Diana was trying to do with her hands.

Alas, he came from her direction, and by moving to his left, he was going directly towards Big Changus, who was also shivering, which was comical with his buffed body.

The maniac saw that the one he feared the most was nothing but a scaredy cat and aimed for him.

"I'll deal with you first!" he shouted as he kept his dagger behind him.

As Zen and the others stood in their place, not knowing how to react, Diana ran closer to the maniac to twist his head with her telekinetic powers.

Changus moved his head from left to right profusely, looking for something he could use to stop him.

"RAAAA!" The smile on the maniac turned even more crazed as Zen watched his shadow move irregularly.

"Diana, watch out!" He shouted as Diana, who was getting closer and closer to the maniac, didn't notice the figure coming out of the ground.

Hearing Zen's warning, she looked down to find a sword coming right at her, aiming to pierce her heart.

"BASTARD!" She shouted as she moved her hands right in the face of the Shadow Walker, who was another gloomy kid with short black hair; alas, his eyes looked dead and his smile wide.

*Crack* *Slash*

"DIANAAA!"

"Hup." Diana's eyes widened as she looked down at the sword that pierced right through her chest, as the one responsible for this had his head rotated 180°, his smile still on his face.

*Thud* *Thud*

"DIANA, NO!" Lisa, who was too shy to do anything, ran towards Diana, who fell on top of the shadowwalker.

The group's faces expressed a mix of fear, unease, disgust, and sadness as Zen turned to look at Changus, only for his eyes to widen in surprise.

Big Changus, who was too scared to do anything, just closed his eyes and launched himself at the maniac who was coming at him, giving him the worst end possible.

*BOOOM*

The maniac was launched all the way to the wall where he came from, his body disgustingly splattered on it like a mosquito.

"UGH!" Dali, who had seen far too much this day, fell on his knees, not being able to control himself from vomiting after seeing the gory scene.

Zen went closer to Changus as the girls ran towards Diana.

Max and Alex closed their eyes as they were too hurt to do anything, and their hearts felt as if they were pierced looking at their leader and companion dead on the floor.

"Don't worry about it too much, Changus. You did the right thing." Zen said as he patted Changus back, who held his hand up, not believing that he had just killed a person.

"Zen, I- I killed a person, a human, a living being. I-" Changus slowly turned to look at Zen as he looked terrified, his face expressing disbelief, sadness, fear, and guilt.

Not all of the people here were worthy of such an ending. Being in Hell didn't mean they were bad; it just meant they made a mistake, whether consciously, directly, or indirectly... didn't matter.

"If you didn't kill him, he would have done it without even thinking about it. You're a big boy, Changus; rise your head high and be proud that you lived another minute in this hell." Zen gave Changus a speech as the latter swallowed.

"I'm a monster, Zen. I shouldn't have such a trait if it would only hurt people; I should just... disappear." Changus looked back at the splattered corpse of the maniac and then at his hands before he spoke.

"Look at me, Changus." Zen forcefully brought down the head of Changus, as he, a 19 year old with average height, had to look up to see the buff man who was in front of him.

"You're no monster; if anything, you're a hero who saved all of us here; you did the right thing. Don't you ever say that again." Zen spoke with all seriousness as his eyes pierced right through the wimpy soul of Changus.

"... I- I'm sorry, I won't say so anymore." Changus looked down on the ground as his hands fell back into place.

Zen sighed and tapped his back once more before he turned to look at Diana and the girls.

"Uwaaa! Diana why? Why did you die so early?" Lisa, who was hugging Diana's dead body, cried and shouted as tears fell down her eyes like a river.

Melissa, who was always happy-go-lucky or flirting, was in no mood to do so right now with what was happening around her. Sabrina, however, was lost in thought as her eyes were locked on the corpse of the shadowwalker unconsciously.

Alex bit his lips, and Max opened his eyes and approached Lisa.

"Lisa, we have to move; it's not safe anymore. Let's go and leave this damned maze as fast as we can."
