Chapter 3: True Hell!
"HONEYYYYY!" Sabrina looked at her husband, who was split in two right in the middle, with half his body still standing and the other half on the floor in the corridor.
"Hiss." Melissa's face turned pale as she looked at the gory scene in front of her.
Sabrina was about to jump at her husband when Zen appeared behind her, stopping her from moving forward.
"Stop! We don't know if whatever killed Marco is still there or not!" he told her, trying to calm her down as sincerely as he could.
"Don't Stop Me! My husband. My husband is dead! UWAAAA!" Sabrina fell on her knees as she held on to her husband's lower body, which fell towards her as she cried.
Dali stood behind the group, shivering in fear; Zen stood behind Sabrina, taking in the seriousness of the situation they were in; and Melissa was doing the same.
Sabrina abruptly stopped crying as she turned sharply to look at Zen.
"YOU! You said you had a trap detection trait! Why didn't you warn him." She screamed at him as tears fell from her crazed face.
Zen was stunned, not expecting her to turn to him.
"I-" Not knowing what to say, he only held his head down as Melissa moved to his side.
"It's not his fault. We don't even know if that was a trap or not; it could be some kind of fantasy creature or some demon for all we know." As crazy as Melissa felt her words were, nobody could deny them.
Zen, however, not knowing what he could say, tried to show his apology with actions by moving directly towards the exit, passing the corpse with squinted eyes as the group were shocked at his sudden movement.
...
Zen opened his eyes and brought his hands up, not believing that he was still alive. He then looked down at Marco's face, which still had a prideful expression mixed with anxiety, before looking to his sides.
The group, seeing Zen intact, looked at each other before Melissa slowly and cautiously walked to his side.
When nothing happened to her, Dali passed Sabrina and jumped to their side, and they all looked at her, except for Zen, who looked from his right to his left.
Sabrina looked at them and at her husband as she felt her heart break into a thousand fragments.
"I know what you're thinking about right now, sister. But your husband wouldn't want you to die." Melissa spoke to Sabrina more seriously than she ever had.
Sabrina, hearing this, didn't know what to do as tears fell faster than they ever did before she put down her husband's lower body and walked towards the group, not looking at him anymore.
Dali looked at Zen, who was once again deep in thought and after hesitating for quite some time, he nudged him with his finger.
"Hmm?" Zen got out of his trance to look at Dali, who flinched.
"Ah- Umm... What should we do now?" Dali played with his hoodie and looked down while asking, only to be scared by Marco's corpse and look to the side.
"It seems this is a maze." Zen announced.. The group turned to look at him while he looked at his sides once again.
"How do you know?" Sabrina asked with scepticism.
"Look to the left; there are 2 turns there, and then to the right there are 3." Zen replied, not minding Sabrina's doubt, as she had every right to.
"That's true." Sabrina looked and squinted her eyes in thoughts.
"Well, fuck. This is getting more complicated by the second." Melissa, getting a little bit too comfortable with the group, cursed their luck.
'I'm starting to regret all the shit I've done. Actually, I would do it again if I were to go back, it's too fun. Hah, I love how honest I am.' Once again being sarcastic with herself, Melissa almost threw her hair unconsciously in sassiness but held herself back.
"So, where do you think we should go?" Sabrina looked at Zen and asked, judging his every expression.
Zen scratched his head at Sabrina's doubt, that started making him uncomfortable.
"How would I know?" he said.
"All I can say is that 3 meters to our left, there's trap." he added.
Melissa, who was closest to the left, jumped closer as she looked down, fearing for her life.
"Right it is." Sabrina said.
"I'll lead the way." Zen spoke as he immediately turned to move, with Dali right behind him and Melissa following them while holding tightly on Sabrina's shoulders and looking in front of them from her sides.
The group moved all the way to the end of the corridor and turned to the right once again to continue their path.
"Hiss." Zen stopped in his tracks as he turned serious.
"What?" Melissa, who was on the back, shouted as Zen's hiss scared the shit out of her fragile heart.
Dali and Sabrina also looked intently at Zen, whose face turned serious.
Zen, still looking in front of him, took a step forward.
"From here on out, follow my every step."
