Chapter 1: A Beginning Or An Ending?
'They say life is like a fleeting thought; you blink once and it's gone.'
'I thought it was such an exaggerated saying. That was until I discovered it was true. How you say? By dying young, that is how. And now? I'm in some strange place...'
Within a dimly lit prison surrounded by rocky walls and small cells, a small flame danced atop the only torch lighting the passageway. The jail was old, and the iron-made doors to the cells were rusted enough to make a hole big enough for a human to get out of.
'Is this the afterlife? I always wanted to know what hell would look like, but never would I have thought it's an old prison cell.' Within one of the cells, a young man with black hair scanned his surroundings as his bright red eyes shone, taking in every piece of information he could use to assess his situation.
He was wearing a black t-shirt with slightly wide and comfortable black pants and sandals on his legs.Â
"Where the Fuck Are We? Let us out!" Suddenly and out of nowhere, a shout was heard, not too far from the young man's cell.
"Honey, calm down. We don't know where we are, and we're supposed to be dead." Right after the shout, a female's voice was heard, calming down her likely partner.
"If this is the afterlife, then without a doubt it's hell." Another voice was heard close to the other two, it sounded like that of a female, but it was sweeter, making one want to listen to it forever.
"Who's there?!" The man, who was just starting to calm down, heard the voice and shouted.
"Calm down now, handsome. I mean no harm." the female replied.
"H-hello." Another person appeared, and no matter how weak his voice was, it was enough for the rest of them to hear it, however, nobody paid attention to him.
"Now now, don't look at me like that, sweety; I'm not trying to steal your man." The second female spoke, attempting to calm down the man's partner after her previous compliment.
"How many of us are here, I wonder?" the second female asked.
Hearing this, the black-haired young man who was in his cell until now came out.
"This makes us five." He said, with a hint of caution visible in his eyes.Â
The first thing he saw was what he guessed was the couple both wearing a white lab coat, with the man taking on a protective stance by raising both of his arms with his partner behind him.Â
The second female, who was charming enough to make the young man's eyes stay on her for a few seconds, was wearing a black dress and was closer to the couple as the man watched her with caution.Â
The second young man, who was wearing a white hoodie with a cute dog on it, however, was just coming out of his cell, which was right next to the couples.
The group turned to seize up the young man, and the second female licked her lips at how hot he was but quickly regained her composure as a smile formed on her face.
"Let's first introduce ourselves. I feel like we'll be together for a good amount of time." she said as she took a quick glance behind the black haired young man.
At the end of the narrow prison passageway with 5 cells on each side, there was what looked like the way out; the walls outside looked cleaner with torches sticking to them, and their slightly yellowish texture was different compared to the rocky walls in the prison, which was in a way weird, but it at least gave them hope. Hope that there was a way out of here.
"I'm Zen." The black haired young man introduced himself first with an honest smile on his face.
The others looked at him in surprise, not thinking someone would actually introduce himself, especially while knowing that none of them was a good person to end up... wherever this was.
"I'm Marco, and this is my wife, Sabrina." The man, still keeping his defensive stance, said with cautious eyes, looking at all those here.
"I'm Melissa." the other female who was still facing Zen introduced herself with a wink at the end, while Zen blushed slightly, seemingly not able to handle the charm of a mature woman.
"I'm Dali." The other blond young man spoke last as his shy demeanor made everybody look at him, wondering how such a young man ended up here.
"Since I'm here, then this is likely hell; thus, I guess it's logical for me to believe that everyone here is no good person, right?" Melissa asked as she looked at all those around her.
Everybody looked at each other, none talking for a second. The man of the couple sighed and calmed himself down, allowing his wife to get out.
"Yes, you can say that." he spoke.
"No, you can't, honey. How can something you did for me ever be wrong! Those bastards deserved it." His wife, Sabrina, shouted at him as tears threatened to fall out of her eyes. This was definitely not the first time they spoke of this subject.
"Unleashing a deadly virus on an entire civilization is definitely wrong, hun." He said while shaking his head, as Melissa squinted her eyes and Zen stood there surprised. Dali, however, was scared to death.
"It's not a crime to release it on those greedy bastards and their slaves; don't forget what they did to our daughter." Sabrina said it with anger evident on her face.
"Wow, and here I thought I was so down bad for charming gang leaders." Melissa put her hand on her mouth, acting surprised but not going into the details of her actions. Then she turned to look at Zen with interest.
"I wonder what you did." She said, her every movement making Zen have a hard time resisting, which was something he had never experienced before, making him start forming theories inside his head.Â
Zen opened his mouth in an attempt to reply to her answer, fully intent on being honest.
"Wait a second." Dali suddenly spoke, stopping Zen from saying what he planned to as everybody's attention focused on him.
"Are we... even from the same world?" he asked, confusion on his face as what the couple just said made him consider this possibility.
Before the others could even think of replying... a voice reverberated in their heads.
[Welcome, Dear Sinners. Welcome To Hell!]
