Chapter 9 - Stalling

Rice inhaled, hellish energy swelled up within. His eyes burning so brightly his sunglasses could barely contain the glower of their light.

His chains bulged the snapping ones showcased hints of hellfire seeping from a shadowed casim of magma.

Rice reached out grasping air as he exhaled, sliding his feet back as he pulling his arms towards him. His hands tensing as tangible chains flickered. Hellfire roared around the creature. It's pained howl echoed, Rice felt his chains snap, more falling in place of the broken. He knew he couldn't just restrain it.

So with another inhale he jumped, yanking his arms past his torso, launching him by pulling him into the creature.

It tore through his chains it's body tensed against the pressure of these supernatural chains, surrounded by searing hellfire it wanted to kill this thorn. Force it to feel as their inside liquidfied and sucked dry!

It's thoughts interrupted when the thorn came to it!

Boots parting hellfire, slammed into its stomach folding it, forcing it back.

He tried to swipe away the nuisance! Yet Rice ducked dragging in his arm his fist balling up as he pistons his arm upwards, the creature had opened its mouth, the leech tongue seeking its target, but before it could. Rice upper cutted it's jaw, blaming it shut. Preventing his I'll fate.

Rice backpedaled, Giving the creature a moment to grasp its face. Pained and enraged!

He shook his hand, thrombin from meeting a brick wall just about.

That hurt, he felt like his hand would be bruised in the morning.

Sirens echoed, their shriel alarm faintly reaching him.

The wardens were on their way to him. He just had to stall.

The creature shook off its stunned pain. Unhinging it's jaw to reveal a leech tongue nipped by the forced shut jaw.

An acidic drip stinging the creatures mouth. Rice dismayed about this development felt a sense of trepidation.

He dived away, a leech tongue rocketing past him. He barely had time to react when backpedaled a claw swiping where he once stood.

Tsking, Rice turn tail and ran for it. Only making it a few meters before he heard the whipping air!

He ducked behind and past a concrete pillar. A leech tongue slammed into the pillar cracking it!

Ack! He didn't want to get hit by that at all!

He manifested chain dragging his hand down as chains wrapped the leech tongue. Momentarily distracting the creature. Long enough for him to get close to the parking garages railings.

When he turned to confront the creature. He heard whooshing!

The creature was charging him. Too close was it that he would have to bare the attack.

However his luck turned today, two silhouettes rushed past him from the railing, both punching out. The two forces met, overpowered the creature was throw back.

Infront of him were two ghoul police. The wardens!

The reason you don't mess with Dezer Plaza police isn't because of their influence, but the power that made them!

Ghouls were really strong intelligent undead. They looked mostly normal except their features were messed up, almost like burn victims. They had a leathery look, but we're quote nice in general. Very ruthless good people too.

Breaking the law under their guise amounts to filming your crime in court.

Bad time.

Rice smiled, he could relax, or so he hoped to. The creature was an anomaly. Yet there were many species and even individuals without species. But this creature looked like someone took a bunch of mismatching pieces and forced them to fit together.

Not only that, but it's lack of intellect was strange. The ghouls moved in helping each other to attempt to restrain it.

Whilst a third ghouls stepped up next to Rice. Because he was near the window, ther his only one real reason the wardens got up here without the stairs.

They climbed!

"is that Garet?"

The ghoul next to him asked. But Rice shook his head. "no, but it does look like it took part of his features."

The ghoul hummed with thought. "Rice can you help up restrain it? We need to clip its wings."

Rice grinned. "iv been waiting for you to ask that Reece."

Legally any human or supernatural could only defend themselves, and if wardens asked they could give help. However Hellrazers did have some liberties in this area they had to abide by.

If they had to commit self defense they weren't allowed to use the full scope of their strength. The reason was the powers involved were quite secretive and could be revealed easily in court if used carelessly.

However is a warden asked a Hellrazer for help and the Hellrazer agreed..

Well it couldn't be use din court and the Hellrazer is allowed the full scope of their powers in the situation if applicable.

With that in mind.

Rice let his 0ower roil within, before he manifested floating chains, their barbed edges a cruel method of chaining one. These weren't the ones used before, but rather soul flames. Chains that restrain the soul and anchor the body to it.

He only used it a few times, most cases didn't require this skill. So it's one of the trumps he never likes showing off without rightful reason.

An expected temperament of a henchman of the Hellrazer organization!

This wasn't the only trump card at hand. Rice played a few more. The surrounding gave an apocalyptic feel as the ground appeared ruined and magma formed. A method to slow opponents, it was completely illusionary.

However if the targeted soul wasn't strong enough this skill could interact with the target and hurt them.

The creature slowed considerably.

Just by enacting this skill, he then whipped his soul flames into action. Endless length of flames wrapped around the targeted creature, knocking it down to its knees.

Rice felt these two skills were enough. Giving the Wardens the chance to better restrain.

He decidedly did not close the distance. Wary of the leech tongue. To whom it couldn't effect most undead, he was living so surely he would be done for!
