Both Rice and Tyler found the.selves in downtown Dezer, highrise territory. A good, convenient name.
Highrise was a vampiric empire. Or well one of the richest factions not including Azura bank.
Their headquarters was a skyscrapers that easily stood higher than any other building In the city.
The vampires often operate the bulk of their business at night, though they do have some business in the day time.
Rice and Tyler were called to a scene, an accident. They had to stop by at night given it required three parties. The vampires, wardens and hellrazers. Because the case they were working on got skipped due to implications.
They were naturally put on this job.
Rice had beef with the vampires but when they arrived at the scene. He couldn't help but put that aside once he stepped into the night club.
Let's start at the beginning.
Pulling up wardens were parked outside the nightclub, we'll one of the nightclubs.. let's see this one's name is.. oh um "Dancers Delight" hmm. What a weird name. Vampires and there romantism.
"Oh good, the henchmen are here."
A vampire representative said with a scowl. Rice grinned at them "Oh hey yea my Oh so favorite scum bags how about I do you a favor and upgrade you to a crack heads line of coke?!"
Rice laughed. The vampire, a stereotypical man in black suit growled. "when I'm done with you, your gonna be dog shit, you mut!"
Rice tsked as his eyes glitter with hellfire.
A warden named Deven stepped inbetween the two. "ladies ladies. Please direct your attention towards the scene. Let's leave the idea of a cat fight in the bag for right now"
The warden rubbed his neck. "Follow me and no biting." surprisingly that was directed at Rice. No vampire wanted hellrazer blood, especially not Rice. In fact if anything he is probably toxic waste to them.
Expertly stepping past the police barrier he welcomed in the parties. He has seen some shit in his time, unfortunately this wasn't that much newer. But he did give it to whoever did the deed. They were a special kind of sick.
The vampire and Rice equally felt the same when they looked upon the scene. Barely time passed before Rice glanced at the place with his vision. The place reeked of sulfer.
"What in God's name.."
Rice muttered.
Bodies, alot of bodies. He has seen a few vampire rampage. But this.. this wasn't no fuckin vampire rampage.
The bodies were deflated.. everywhere. There had to be like what.. over a hundred victims in here? He even saw a few vampires, supernaturals of various species.. and other races.
Nothing was spared. They looked like flesh bags without bones..
He shuddered at the sight. The vampire next to him showed a clear disgusted look.
For once they unconsciously agreed that the perp needed to be brought to justice. Not prison, not even torture. They needed to die.. because this was not.. uhh..okay. nope.
He heard someone vomit behind him. Steeling himself not even.the vampire remarked Tyler's reaction.
"What.. happened here?"
He directed his questioning too Deven. Who sucked in air through his teeth. "alot, too much.. look something came into here. A thing, some sort of large boney centipede with weird looking parts on it."
The warden shrugged "hard to explain. But it's still out there and it's not the only one. This is the third incident involving mass death."
Rice narrowed his eyes. "the third? Why has no one Informed us?"
Deven waved down his hostility. "look, we tried to keep it under wraps, those two didn't have such an aura of possible contract misuse. The other two weren't in major territories and the creatures were different. Their attack methods different."
Rice crossed his arms. "Different or not we need to crack down on this. Mass death is a very different case. Especially with things that can do this much damage!"
Rice waved to the scene behind them. His word were clear.
How did so many die and not amount to a strong retaliation. You don't just get a monster that can take on vampire, supernaturals and what not easily. That's not a feat you can just pull off alone.
Deven inhaled and exhaled. "look can you two just investigate the arua? With indirect methods often times these areas to us are faint or not detectable. Our systems practically screamed when this place was tested."
Rice gave one more look at the scene and made up his mind. "Yea, but I'm going to need to head back tonight and talk to my boss. This.." Rice didn't continue glancing at Tyler.
Deven glanced at Tyler too. "is he a..?"
Rice nodded. "yep, I'll be back tomorrow night."
"Mm alright vampires will be present with their own investigations. You guys gonna fight?"
Rice tsked. "Nope, this place spoils the mood."
The vampire nodded "I agree, this kind of slaughter is dista…" He trailed off when Rice glared at him. "finish that.."
The vampire felt danger. "I don't think I want to."
Rice patted Tyler on the back. "let's go"
"b-but we just got here.."
Rice didn't respond so Tyler followed.
On their way back to the station Rice eruptly spoke. "I'm moving you to another Three Letter. This case is too dangerous for you."
Tyler felt useless at the remark. "when I become a three letter will help you!"
Rice chuckled "try your best to survive first. I feel the city ain't gonna be so nice after tonight."
Rice had a talk with Yeniver who was already well aware of the situation and had already planned to switch Tyler to another Three Letter that actaully got back to him.
The time was good, but shit was getting dangerous and Rice felt all his strength would be going to protecting himself and figuring out this case. Not watching a two letter.
He also didn't want to lose Tyler to the underworld so easily.
He only hoped this was a good decision, and not something that would bite him in the behind later on.
