Dezer plaza, The Doctors Office.
It is said that Dezer Plaza has many safe zones, but none are never truly safe. The idea of them being safe only comes from the security provided and rules expected to be followed.
Not everyone follows these rules or abides by the word of security.
it Is said without strong figures these rules fall on deaf ears.
Yet There is one place in Dezer that doesn't need security or multiple strong ones to enact safety. This is Dezer's Doctors Office. Many like it exist, but this one is quite a special place.
It has long been accepted that this is the only true safe zone in Dezer. If you make a fuss and have even organizations chase you. This is the only place in the city they can't touch you.
Many have questioned why they refrain from trampling this simple places rules. Even of the Doctor here is one of speciality between mortal and supernatural. That status wouldn't save another from harm if they commit a grevious act.
But those who are aware have made rumors of it. After all the real terror Isn't the status, but rather the doctor himself.
His name was Jack, Doctor Jack. Many called him The Doctor, fewer Doc or Jack. Only friends dare call him this.
He is a supernatural person, very vaguely mysterious.
He treats patients with an easy indifference. His method often works in strange ways.
He has many names outside of his office. But nobody would think to call him that In front of him or even publicly!
Not only must street goers pay their respects but even big figures like The Queen Of Dolls or even Otimer himself!
The history of what happens if you don't is quite hidden, almost unwritten!
On this day a customer came in, kindly received by the receptionist. A slender woman in her 50's. She glanced up without much play she sternly asked. "Name, reason."
The customer stated with strain. "Robert, Severely injured!"
The receptionist nodded typing in her computer. "The doctor will see you-" she stopped speaking. Looking down back at the screen as a door to the left opened.
"This way Mr. Robert"
A husky voice said with faint interest. Robert looked at the figure.
A tall man, a plague doctor mask greeted him. Two large lens showing nothing but a milky light. Robert nodded at The Doctor as he shuffled past.
He took the first table he saw, sitting on it with a grunt of pain. Robert was in fact very hurt. He held up his right arm, the bones Shattered, his skin all over washed and cut deeply. He was even missing an eye.
The doctor waved at the table. "Lay down"
Robert followed he had to lead his arm on his chest. The doctor helped him lay it on the table too. Then he studied Robert's constitution. Slowly walking around the table.
The weirdness of the doctors office was quite subtle.
Soft light bathed the room in a strange milky cream coffee color. The doctor layed out some tools and weird looking bottles of liquids.
"What happened to you?"
Robert gathered his will, the pain of his injuries were quite extensive. The fact he hadn't passed out or even screamed in agony was already feat of its own.
"Was delivering a package, weird creature jumped me. I managed to block the attack but.."
He tsked in pain. The Doctor glanced at his arm. "Continue"
The dry husky voice of The Doctor said as he messed with a needle. Probably pain medicine. Often the charge at the Doctors office was sometimes reasonable. Yet pain medicine is expensive. The only saving grace was his job as a messenger gave him benefits.
"My hand took the brunt, damaged my glove so part of uniform stopped working. I tried to make a break for it. But the weird creature gave chase!"
The Doctor glanced at Robert. Who stuttered "sorry.. i.. am worked up"
The Doctor patted Robert on the shoulder as he turned away again the pain meds kicking in swiftly. "Ill live. What happened next. your arm.."
Robert continued. "I managed to fight back, but this weird creature tail whipped me. I blocked again. But it broke my bones. I managed to get back into My truck and drive here.."
The Doctor Interjected. "Where did this happen? By the looks. You should've died. Very lucky."
Now Robert felt a swell of fear. When he continued. "I was delivering to shop down road.. um.."
The Doctor finished "Garden Corner?"
Robert nodded "y-yes.."
The Doctor didn't pause. Instead working on Robert. With some methods he fixed the arm, and healed up the wounds. Robert was glad he had pain numbing meds in him. He would have surely screamed when The Doctor got to work.
He paid what his job couldn't and was ordered to go home today.
Watching him leave The Doctor glanced at receptionist. "Close up early today. I'm headed to out."
The receptionist nodded curious. "Did something happen?"
With a nod The Doctor put on his trench coat. "Problem at Garden Corner"
She frowned, Garden Corner? Isn't that in the safe zone?
"Okay, have a safe trip"
The Doctor waved. Stepping into the street.
He walked along the road. Many paying their respects as he walked the sidewalk.
The doctor was quite tall. He walked with a quiet gait. Hands in his pocket. The budding night brought about the lamp lights. Whilst the shadow at the Doctors heel remained pitched in black.
The Garden Corner was a corner store. A place he got his herbs and talked to the locals. They often were open between afternoon and midnight.
Their cultivation of plants were quiet strenuous. So it was only natural they set these times up when those plants became less active.
The corner store came into view. Its surrounding lamplight were dimmed. Some broken. Signs of a small fight happened here. The stores do was ajar, broken glass scattered across the sideway and blood.
The Doctor wordlessly looked at this mess. Before he pushed the door open and took slow deliberate steps.
Many of the lights were out. But he could smell a copper. Without a word he glanced at the counter, he saw something behind it.
Hm?
He leaned over quietly. The shopkeeper was deflated slightly. Clearly dead, he could diagnos her death from here.
Bones, not Shattered. Gone.
Like they were sucked out of the body. From the looks, they were alive when this happened. Suffered from the lack of bones and died in many horrible ways once those bones were removed.
A silence was deafening at this discovery. The Doctor glanced up when he heard a sound. A clatter of plant pots.
Something large and boney was slithering.. and skittering across the ceiling. When he looked up the creature paused.
They stared quietly at each other for a long time. Then it jumped!
