Chereads / The Vampire from Nowhere / Chapter 4 - I WON!

Chapter 4 - I WON!

I forced myself to think of a versatile weapon. One which had no flaws. Sword? No. Though, swords are versatile. But I want something which has a less steep of learning. Guns? No. Too rigid in functionality. You could only shoot with that. And I am dead if she came close to me.

While I was racking my brain, Alisha again swung her mace at me. My brain was too occupied to think of a situation to escape. The only thing I did was fall backwards, to put distance between us, so someone could save me. My prayer was answered as Meiko came to my rescue and had already grabbed the mace.

"RUN!", she shouted. "And think of something fast, will you?"

I dashed and put as much distance as possible between Alisha and me. I again went in my deep in my mind.

"Something very versatile? How about a multi-functional weapon? No. Too much trouble. How about a shape-shifting one? Easy to carry. A variable weight. Something which had a great spread structure... like graphene. Okay now to materialize. What shape should I giv-"

Again I was interrupted by Alisha. I looked behind her. She had knocked out Meiko. I look around for any other person to rely on. No luck. I was astonished to find everyone else already knocked out.

"Who will save you now, Haru?", she said mockingly.

She again swung at me. This time, I had no one to rely on. I had to face her head on, I materialize my weapon. A shape-shifting slime sort of weapon. I instantly made it into a shield. It was triangular, having a sharp sword like shape at its bottom. I used it to pierce the earth to make a bit more resistance so that I won't fly away. The mace made contact with the shield. Instantly due to the powerful strike a shock wave was produced. This produced shock wave aimed directly at my left arm behind the shield, shattered my arm. I immediately let my left arm go loose and in an attempt to control myself, I bit my thumb of my right arm. Tears rolled from my eyes. My arm flopped about. But I couldn't go loose yet.

I transformed a small portion of the slime into a gauntlet to make up for a temporary support. I used the remaining slime to make a gun and shot Alisha on her forehead. Though it made contact, it did not kill her. But that was never my goal. I fell down to my knees.

"I won...", I pass out saying it.

I do not know what had happened afterwards. But when I woke up I was greeted with grey and gloomy ceiling. I lifted my arms and inspected them. Not shattered anymore. I try to summon my weapon. Swiftly, a black goop made way to my arms. It did not cover my arms fully, but covered it enough to make me realize that I really materialized my own weapon out of thin air in another world where magic is prominent.
