"Tch... He escaped... I lost again to that boy."
Alisha, a summoner of S-rank who summoned the heroes, was defeated by one. She was quite annoyed and said with disappointment, "He was strong. But he is not going to survive long. His whole quarter portion of his body was destroyed... How disappointing indeed." She, then with a quick motion, snapped her fingers and her attendants entered the room.
"Clean up the mess and bring a boy which has this boy, Haru's same physique. We will burn him on the stake. Don't let this information get out, though." Alisha said. She wanted to strike fear among the summoned. She did this to have grip and control over those she summoned. Burning a boy with the same physique as Haru's would destroy any type of method to recognize whether the remains are of Haru's or not. Very sly indeed.
The next morning, as her orders, her attendants brought over a boy who was an orphan with the same physique as she desired. His mouth was stuffed with rags and his head covered with a sack. When everyone who were summoned came to the common ground as per Alisha's order, they were met with a bloody sight of a boy tied to the stake. The attendants had beaten the boy so much that he could not even cry, but could only whimper. Then after a speech which was said to make the summoned kids know that they are just subjects to their summoner, Alisha, she burned the child.
As soon as Meiko found the person who was being burnt was said to be Haru she jumped forwards and ran towards the stake. But she was blocked by the Alisha's attendants. She fell to her knees. The only thing which was heard the most were only Meiko's cry and the boy's screams. After a few moments, the boy had turned to mere ashes. Not many were sad for the said Haru, but for Meiko it definitely was. Nobody knew Haru. Even if they did, they did not reveal their relationship as fellow inmates.
As for Meiko, she was mourning for Haru. After 30 minutes or so, she stopped and started sobbing. She did not eat that day except for the breakfast she had before. She was forced to learn and train, but she did not utter a word in a polite manner. Furthermore, she started speaking in a cold and distant tone.
As of what she didn't knew was Haru was somewhere else where he was starting his own story.
At the same time but somewhere far, the Spade family was being annihilated by the coalition of termination made of all the other three families, led by the Diamond family's successor, Luthor Larkson Diamond. In a single night, the whole Spade family were eradicated with a false accusation of treason and embezzlement. The reason for their eradication was due to their successors having many rare blessings like "Limit-Breaker", "Rise Multiplier" and "Four Leaf Clover". All these blessings made the successor a real threat to the other three families. Hence, to secure the balance between the families, Spades family were terminated.
