The past week, although peaceful, had also been full of commotion. Miriam didn't trust Ronald one bit, and on more than one account had threatened to call for the royal guards to arrest him. She hadn't forgiven Ronald and Edmund for her fingers, and she did nothing to hide her hatred for her half brothers. The only reason she hadn't gone ahead with her plans was because of Lucian and Simon. Had their safety and happiness not been at jeopardy, she definitely would have had Ronald arrested by now.
She would sneer at him each time he entered the room. They might be related, but Miriam wanted absolute nothing to do with Ronald and Edmund. The two of them sickened her, and it would take a lot more than saving her from the situation they had put her at first to convince her that Ronald was changed.
