Chapter 2 - To the Gym

The next day, Lilith awoke, feeling refreshed.

She immediately swung up from the bed, and checked her panel status.

A sigh of relief as she confirmed that she still had the panel.

There was the chance that it was a dream or delusion.

With concrete proof it was real, Lilith could focus fully on making use of it to live a better life.

Lilith with ten thousand whole dollars safely was able to afford rent.

Nevertheless, it would not be appropriate to squander it on a new place.

A new place could come after she took care of a few things.

After bills, which were a few hundred, having no income was quite the price.

Having a income source alleviated some of the mental burdens she was facing.

Her room, having been cleaned well, also helped a fair bit.

Lilith merely used the social media site she frequented as a way to vent, as a diary of sorts.

Not too gain any reputation or a following.

That said, it was one route, with the panel she could take going forward.

Despite that, she was more interested in giving writing a try.

Online publishing specifically.

Would avoid plenty of headaches.

She always like cultivation novels, when she had some down time she would read some on occasion.

Indeed, Lilith could publish a online novel, it definitely had its merits.

Solidifying the start of a plan, she considered additional aspects.

She should remain proactive instead of waiting around.

One thing that she could do, to better her life was lose some of the excess fat she had started to accumulate.

It would make exhausting tasks like the cleaning one far less trouble for her.

She could keenly feel subtle but present pangs in her thighs.

The excitement from getting a panel must have dulled any pulled muscles.

She would begin plans for a novel, and get a gym membership.

A home gym could be good, but she must get over the fear of socializing.

At least, making it bearable.

It would be silly to avoid it now, it was a eventuality anyway.

If she took it head on, then minimally, it would not take her by surprise.

Furthermore, she should look at getting a vehicle to make traveling easier.

She could start all of it, and be overwhelmed.

But, that's a easy way to get stuck and just forgetting about it.

With no panel, she would be fine as she is, not happy about how she lives but it would be doable.

With a panel, it's the best time to make changes in her life.

Two things at once, plotting the start of a novel, and going to a gym, preferably, one that is close.

She would begin with cardio, build up some endurance, using treadmills.

After a few weeks of that, start to lift weights.

Straightening the thoughts in her head about her plans, she got ready for the day.

She would do research for her novel to-be, then check online for gyms.

Opening the search bar on her computer, she started looking about.

After a while, she got a few ideas, which she jotted in a notetaking program.

Upon reviewing the ideas were all listed, she started searching for a gym.

Swiftly, she found a gym that was located a mile away.

It had decent reviews.

An imperceptible smirk vanished the moment it appeared.

She had a gym to look into.

That said, she had to have backup plans.

Looking into a few gyms, she compiled a list of them.

Collecting her keys and essentials, she stood before the entrance of her door.

'You got this Lilith.'

Taking a deep breath, she pulled open the handle, and swung open the door.

A short but mildly strenuous mile walk later, she was before the first prospective gym.

It was a smaller brick building.

The glass panels in the front allowed her to see inside.

There were a few people working out at the machines and lifting.

Entering, she saw a desk, where a uniformed person was seated, head down writing things down.

Walking up to them, Lilith, took a short breath and greeted.

"Hello, I would like to try this gym."

The person's brows tensed before they looked up.

Their eyes widening as they looked over at Lilith before a peculiar glint entered their eyes.

"Eh..." A small scoff echoed.

"I... see... Miss, well..." Their voice slightly creaky as they started speaking.

Their gaze barely met Lilith.

The gym workers tag clipped to their shirt jangled, read: James, as they looked over their shoulder over at the gym, before turning back to face Lilith.

Seeing this, Lilith shook her head.

A moment later, the worker, addressed Lilith, their gaze shaky.

"If you want, but the gym is fairly occupied so..."

"That's fine." Lilith replied.

Catching sight of James looking at Lilith oddly, memories of her experiences entered her mind.

She had dealt with a ton of situations like this.

They may not be a bad person, but it still does not feel nice.

James speaking a bit louder.

"Heard home gyms are all the rage and there is more space... wouldn't that..."

However, Lilith had a bit more backbone now, incentivized by the system to stay her ground.

Her voice sharp, Lilith stated: "No, I wanna workout here."

Clearing his throat, James coughed.

"I... ok. yeah. Yeah, well, just sign these papers, its 20 dollars a month for a membership."

Lilith nodded, and pulled out a card and started to sign.

As if relieved, when Lilith finished signing up, she started to walk on over to a machine.

She noticed a singular treadmill in the corner.

As she walked closer, people that were focused on working out slightly shook, wiggling slightly, their gazes becoming strained when they caught a glimpse of her.

Lilith's gaze hardened, and she strutted to the treadmill ignoring their looks.

When she started messing with the speed settings, a few people close started to step away from their machines, and left.

Groaning, Lilith, began running, shaking her head.

Her anxieties fleeting as she immersed herself.

Soon, her breathing became sporadic, but she kept at it.

She could hear some laughing, nevertheless, she had dealt with such for a while.

She could bare people laughing.

What she could not bare, is not making full use of the opportunity she luckily got.

With increased intensity, the treadmill slightly shaking as she ran, she heard the sound she was hoping to hear.

[Task #2: Try all of the workout machines ]

With regained vigor, she ran.
