Chereads / My Looks Changed the World Order / Chapter 4 - Smiling Wide

Chapter 4 - Smiling Wide

As Lilith made her way to the gym, she ran her fingers through her hair while crossing the street.

Appreciating the lack of grey in the strands.

Her hair was looking a bit better now.

Through the gym, she would improve her physique.

Through working out would by consequence of the process gain experience which then improves other aspects of herself.

Very much felt like she was getting paid to improve herself.

Sadly not a guarantee, and required using a selection choice on the money rather than being a bonus.

It did not take much time for Lilith to reach the gym.

She received the same stares as the day previously.

It being a bit earlier in the day, there were fewer people in the gym.

Today, there was a small difference, at the assistance desk, James was not there.

Quickly, she went over to the machines.

Contemplating her path forward as she slightly more comfortable with the machines began working out.

She decided that it would be good to go for a balanced physique then to concentrate all effort in a single area.

Fitness was not something that panned out usually well for specialists as far as she knew.

It was better to equally improve her fitness in all aspects, more gradual sure but there would not be any particularly weak area.

While browsing the interwebs yesterday, she watched some videos on proper form.

They gave her a general direction of things to avoid, and practices to attempt to emulate.

It was better than going off the rails without understanding potential consequences.

She worked out for three hours.

Just barely, she reached level 3.

Which netted her a selection choice which she use when she got back.

Also, a 0.1 Appearance boost.

There was no task in sight.

Sighing, it did not take much time before she got back home

Having her appearance changed, she looked for how she changed.

This time, her nose straightened out.

She was looking much better.

It felt great.

She wandered over to her computer chair and sat down.

Flicking open the panel screen, she used the selection choice she earned while working out.

Promptly, a screen appeared with three choices.

...

1.) Scent Cloaking | 2.) Creativity Boost | 3.) Flawless Vision

...

Each one had merits.

But only two demonstrated clearer value.

Creativity boost and flawless vision were both far superior to scent cloaking.

Not having a scent, since she did not stink... what really was the use?

Possessing greater creativity would do wonders for her noveling.

If she had selected the flawless vision, it would assist in small ways but consistently.

Her vision, while not bad was not great.

She would have to get glasses if things continued as they did a few more years.

In novels, vision getting boosted had several benefits such as visual acuity and sometimes reaction speed.

Eventually, she decided that flawless vision was the best choice.

Choosing it, she felt brushing sensation against her eyes.

Blinking rapidly, the odd feeling vanished without warning.

When she opened her eyes the world looked much clearer.

The faintest of blurs her vision had before was done away with.

It was like moving from a cheap phone to a gaming desktop.

It was a massive improvement in performance.

In her improved vision, she noticed details in her surroundings she didn't before.

Places that she had missed when she had cleaned up in the crevices of the wooden tiles.

Lilith had to say, it seemed well-worth it.

After quickly cleaning the areas she just noticed, she began finishing up the plans for the novel.

She favored long-running novels.

With the responsiveness of feedback for online novels it could be said to be a match made in heaven.

Her plans finalized with a semi-detailed outline covering several arcs, a synopsis and finally a cover.

She would start writing chapters tomorrow.

The next day arrived quickly.

The agenda: write and workout.

When she reached the gym, James was working.

Chuckling lightly to herself as she passed him, she got to working out.

The planned three hours ended, without incident.

This time she did not level up, she would need a bit more time to reach level four.

The fatigue that builds up from working out at a manageable level through the utilization of the stamina recovery skill.

Even if there was some amount of soreness, it was much reduced.

As she was opening the door to leave, she got a panel notification.

[ Task #3: Post Your First Chapter ]

Given additional incentive, she reached home, and got into a writing state of mind.

The pace unhurried but her state in a flow, she wrote the first chapter.

The first chapter of her xianxia novel done, she did not rush to post it.

Instead she got to proofread and refine it.

Ensuring there were no issues, and that it at least was not a disaster, she proceeded to work on the second chapter.

It took half the day, but she wrote 5 chapters.

That way, she had a stockpile

Upon reading through the first chapter for the seventh time, she posted it on the most popular online novel platform.

She did not imagine much success.

Lilith had plenty of time.

Not waiting around to be anxious, she used the selection choice she just earned.

The comforting series of 3 options appeared before her eyes.

...

1.) Brilliant Smile | 2.) Sensitive Palette | 3.) Ambidexterity

...

Sometimes the choices were equally good, sometimes it was a hard pick between two.

This round, there was one winner, Brilliant Smile.

She did not see a short term need for either.

She was not gonna be a taste tester or food reviewer.

Ambidextrousness was more useful, but she needed things that were relevant now.

Selecting the Brilliant Smile skill, her mouth quivered.

Compared to acquiring the flawless eyes skill, this sensation was far more spread out.

As if tendrils were adjusting things subtly.

A minute later, when things returned to normal, she tried to see if there were any differences in the mirror.

Her lips upturned, slowly widening.

Lilith's smile had changed.

Her teeth hadn't changed.

Lips had not either.

Her smile though, in a contagious fashion, seeing it reflected made her initial faint smile turn into an expansive grin.

Lilith thought: 'I have an awesome smile.' she said pressing her palms against her cheeks, lifting them.

She swiftly coughed, chuckling before she began to wind down for the day.

Checking her ranking on the status screen, she noticed it had improved by about 10 million places.

`So the ranking had appearance as a factor?`

Even in the condition her mouth was in, it seemed to be extremely beneficial.

Assured by this observation, it did not take much time for her to fall asleep.

Her breathing intermittently followed by snores entered the next day.
