Hakishi walked alongside Lee, who scratched his head in confusion.
"Uhhh… what's your name again? Hakuma? Hali? Or… Jack?" Lee asked, squinting like he was trying to solve a math problem.
Hakishi stopped and gave Lee a flat look.
"Jack? That's not even remotely close to my name. It's Hakishi."
"Ohhh, right. It's that name with no meaning," Lee replied with a casual shrug.
Hakishi sighed. "Actually, it does have a meaning. The day before my mom died, she said, 'I know you don't know the meaning of your name, but I gave it to you with purpose.' She told me Hakishi means 'shattered bones,' and Kashipudo means 'fury.'"
Lee blinked at him for a moment before bursting into laughter. "Shattered bones and fury? That sounds like a wrestling move!"
Hakishi rolled his eyes. "Anyway… Do you even go to school?"
"School?" Hakishi's eyes widened. "SCHOOL?! Oh crap, today's the last day of school!"
Lee smirked. "I finished school when I was fifteen years old."
Hakishi gawked at him. "What are you, a child prodigy? Or just a liar?"
---
At Hakishi's school, he ran inside, greeted the teacher with a quick bow, and took his seat.
"Next: Hakishi Kashipudo!" the teacher, Mrs. Julia, called out.
Hakishi stood up, walked to the front, and collected a new book titled Drills and Locks. He sat back down just as a kid came running into the classroom, panting like he'd just fought a marathon.
Mrs. Julia continued her roll call with a dramatic flair, handing out books like they were secret weapons:
"Donnie Li, you get the Magic and Technology book.
Jack Micah, your book is Pain Reconditioned. That sounds pleasant, doesn't it?
Michael Jagged, you've got the Science book. Try not to blow anything up.
Angela Davenport, here's your Shape-Shifter book. No shifting into me, thank you.
Mary April, enjoy your Drawing book. I expect Picasso-level work by next week.
John Label, Muscle Up. Don't skip leg day.
Daren, you're getting Psychology Waste Plus Science. Don't ask me what that means; I don't know either.
Angelo Dan, Combat. Please don't practice on your classmates.
Daniella Mon, Action. No action scenes in the hallway, understood?
Eve Can, here's your History book. Oh, wait, no, that's Hee-hee, Just Kidding. A little prank to lighten the mood.
Daniel Abel, take this Mind Control book. Don't make me regret it!
Damian Joe, Biblical Knowledge. Don't summon plagues, please.
Jonathan Pier, Combat Two. Apparently, Combat One wasn't enough.
Adam Bea, Answering Machine Creation. What? Why is this a book?
Johnson City, here's your Necromancy book. Try not to raise the janitor from the dead.
And finally, Hakishi Kashipudo, Drills and Locks. Don't lock yourself out of the classroom.
Lastly… Simone Plot! Here's your Physical Therapy book. Maybe you can help me with my back pain. That's it, you're all dismissed!"
---
Hakishi slumped onto a bench outside, flipping through his book with a relieved sigh.
"Finally," he muttered, happy to be away from Mrs. Julia's overly theatrical roll call.
Two hours later, Lee tracked him down and found him absorbed in his reading.
"Hey, Hakishi! What's up? Studying?"
Hakishi stood and stretched, cracking his knuckles dramatically. "Watch this. Forbidden Drill: Dark World!"
Stretching out his hand, a thick, black fog spiraled outward, engulfing the area. Within seconds, the ground beneath them cracked, leaving destruction in its wake. Dark soldiers emerged from the mist, their glowing eyes scanning the area.
"Release," Hakishi commanded, and the soldiers vanished as quickly as they appeared.
Lee's jaw dropped. "What the heck was that?!"
Hakishi turned to him, smirking. "Lee, I need your clone."
Before Lee could object, his clone appeared. Hakishi pointed at it. "Okay, Bloody Background!"
The clone's blood erupted like a geyser, solidifying into a massive sword that impaled the clone dramatically. The clone let out a pitiful squeak before collapsing.
Hakishi folded his arms, looking satisfied. "Now that was a forbidden drill."
Lee stared in stunned silence, then whispered, "I'm never lending you my clone again."
