Chapter 4 - Meeting

Patriarch White looked at his daughter who was training hard and nodded. "Run around the course again."

"Yes, Patriarch."

Aya followed Patriarch White's order.

Ever since he returned from the battlefield, he spent most of his time to manage the family's matters. Of course, he also spare some time to teach her a bit before leaving her to do her own practice without disturbing her in the slightest bit.

However, the increasing expectation from her father made Aya felt the pressure too.

'He's really a strict person.'

But it was good for Aya.

After all, she herself wanted to become strong.

She also has her own private training, though.

Her father told her that when she was old enough, her training would add some sparring with her cousin brother.

It was just…

Aya seriously didn't want to fight with a child.

She has her experience from her previous life, which would help her fight much better than the children around her age. Moreover, they hadn't exactly learn any magic spells and only how to cultivate mana, so their sparring was nothing more than physical sparring.

Oh well, Aya would think about this matter later.

She knew that it wouldn't be easy for her to refute her father's order.

Today, Evan came to find Aya after she had finished her exercise.

"Sister, are you exercising?" Evan looked at his cousin sister curiously. He was only a year older than Aya, but his training volume was not as much as Aya. This made him wonder if he was actually very weak when his father had praised him a lot.

"Yes." Aya nodded.

"My father told me to go out to make friends today," Evan said awkwardly. Because he and his sister were training all day long after they turned three years old, his father felt that it was time for his son to go out and make friends. "Do you want to come along?"

Make friends?

Aya thought for a moment before nodding. She had already finished her training volume today because of her own body's limitation.

There were two types of training that Aya did.

The first was naturally physical training for her body to get stronger.

The second one was meditation.

Perhaps it was because her soul was already in her twenties, she could easily enter the meditation state and was able to last for a long time. She also refined the mana around her and pour it into her body.

This was basic training.

But for other children who entered meditation for the first time, they would get distracted easily. Because for them, it was not easy to sense the mana around them and even pull these mana into their heart to refine.

The second part of the meditation was to hone her own mind.

It could replace sleeping, so Aya has been doing meditation after she turned three years old.

No way.

Who made this war period so dangerous?

She had to get stronger quickly.

But even when training, occasional relaxation is necessary.

*cough*

"Where are we going, Cousin Evan?" Aya asked as Evan led her out of the White Family compound. There were many children from the White Family here but due to the difference in status, they didn't dare to step forward.

So neither Evan or Aya planned to get to know these kids.

They would pick other children to associate with.

Preferably from outside the family so that they wouldn't feel too awkward due to the difference in their status and all.

The two children came out and heard the cheers from the distance.

"The Green Family had returned. They're the one making the most contribution in this war!"

"Yes, it's said that the family's head is really cool!"

"Kyaaa!"

Hearing the conversation of these ladies, Aya was speechless. If she was not wrong, the Green Family's patriarch had gotten married before his departure, right?

Also, the Black Family should be coming back with the Green Family, no?

Their battlefield was more or less the same.

"Do you want to take a look?" Evan asked.

Aya nodded. "Sure."

The two children made their way to the crowd and the few people who saw their clothing immediately made way. Every families have their own way of dressing and the people in the city had to remember not to offend these magic families.

Because even a child might be an important member of the family.

Or, their backstage was much bigger.

In this way, Aya and Evan reached the front and saw many people who returned. It was split into two groups, one group was filled with people wearing green robes and the other half was wearing black coats. There were also civilian mages who came along but they stayed further to the back, not willing to take the limelight that belonged to these people.

The Green Family and the Black Family, the other two founders of Wansu City.

The Green Family was a proper elemental magic, but their magic amount was far more than ordinary people. Moreover, many of their family members were known to be healers due to their inheritance magic's special nature of recovery.

But just like the White Family, they have another use of their inheritance magic, which was to fuse it into their body and strengthen their recovery's ability, making their already massive amount of magic to recover faster and could be used for more magic.

The Black Family's inheritance magic was a bit special.

Their ability was related to the shadow or they usually called it a dark element. They could either use it as a dark element or fuse it with their own bodies, making them able to turn into shadows and use the various attributes of a shadow in the battle.

It was a troublesome ability.

But because the dark element looked scary, their popularity was not very good in the city. Even if they were among the four families who first built the city, the villagers usually stayed away from them.

"Huh? There's a child there," Evan said as he pointed to the front.

Aya followed Evan's finger and found a child, who was around 9 years old among the group of people with black cloak.

She blinked her eyes and guessed the identity of that child.

He's the genius of the Black Family.
