Harry Potter, The Jedi That Would Not Die

Chapter 2 – A Deserted Castle With Hundreds Of People In It

"Touchdown, engines powering down, disengaging artificial gravity," concluded the Captain, before looking up and out of the view screen. "Oh...Master Qui-Gon's not going to like this."

#What does it look like out there Captain?# asked Qui-Gon over the comm system.

"Well, err..." tried the Captain. "Well it looks very nice. Green grass, nice forest."

#I sense that you are not telling me something Captain.#

"And you would be correct sir, what I have not yet mentioned is the castle we seem to have landed in front of, the lake with the large ship floating in it, the large host of people running out of the castle and the two children no older than your padawan that are standing in front of the ship."

The bridge crew all held their breaths and waited, listening intently for what the Jedi Master would say next, especially to his padawan who had selected the location.

"Padawan," came the slow comment.

"Yes Master," replied the suddenly very nervous apprentice.

"I seem to recall you saying that this area was uninhabited."

"That's what the satellite network said Master."

"Well it appears to have been wrong, doesn't it my young apprentice?"

"Yes Master."

"Do you have any suggestions Padawan?" asked Qui-Gon, still in a perfectly level tone that gave the possibility of turning nasty any moment.

"N...No Master."

"Knight Secura?"

"Well as we have landed somewhere that appears to be quite busy we really only have two choices," replied the knight who was barely containing her amusement. "We can either fly away and pretend we never found the planet and therefore this embarrassing situation never actually happened, or we can go outside and pretend this was the plan all along."

"I am reluctantly forced to agree that the second option if the better of the two."

"In that case give me thirty seconds to get my welcoming gift," she replied, disappearing around the corner before they could respond.

Qui-Gon mentally recalled the Twi'lek tradition of giving gifts on important occasions such as this, he just hoped he could stop her throwing the party that sometimes went along with it.

She returned a moment later with the thirty centimetre sculpture of the Jedi temple that she had built on the journey out of very small pieces of metal.

"Hoods up and cloaks around us for the very start I think Secura, seeing a space ship and meeting an alien who looks like them will probably be easier than meeting one who doesn't.

Aayla reluctantly grumbled and raised her hood, before Qui-Gon initiated the ramp which slowly began to descend towards the ground.

Hermione was almost bouncing with excitement beside him, barely able to contain herself as they watched three figures descend the ramp, one tall, one a couple of inches shorter and one about their height.

Aayla studied the pair in front of them curiously. She had never been in a first contact situation before and was quite excited to see how it would turn out.

The pair looked relatively normal, or at least as normal as humans can look. Both appeared to be about Obi-Wan's age, the girl has long bushy hair and seemed to be buzzing with excitement and was barely able to contain herself but the boy was much more curious. Out of the two she was much interested in him, as soon as she had seen him she had felt something, she did not know what it was but she guessed he had felt something two as his eyes were looking at her rather than either of her companions, the closest think she could compare it to was the feeling she got the first time she laid eyes on her first Master.

Harry watched as the tallest of the figures stepped forward and lowered his hood to reveal what appeared to be a middle aged human male with long hair.

"Hello, I bring your greetings from the Galactic Republic and the Knights Jedi Order."

"Welcome to Hogwarts," Hermione greeted, speaking much faster than she intended. "And the planet Earth itself of course."

"My name is Qui-Gon Jinn," continued the figure. "I am a Master of the Jedi Order we are peace keepers of the Republic. These are my companions Jedi Knight Aayla Secura and my apprentice Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi."

The shortest of the figures lowered his hood and bowed, the figure that held Harry's interest on the other hand just bowed and went back to staring at him. Although it was quite sunny today he could not see the face under the hood.

"I am Hermione Granger and this is Harry Potter," continued Hermione, he figured she had probably read somewhere about proper first contact procedures so he might as well let her continue. "We are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. May we ask why you have come to our planet Master Jinn?"

It was at this point that the start of the stampede from the school arrived, heading the group was Dumbledore.

"Mr Potter, Miss Granger, can you please let me know what is going on and who these people are, I was just alerted that this...This object has penetrated the wards."

"It's okay Headmaster," explained Hermione. "They're extraterrestrials and they don't appear to be violent."

"I'm afraid Miss Granger that I am not familiar with that term, can you please explain."

"Allow me Headmaster Dumbledore," interceded Master Jinn. "What your pupil is trying to explain is that we are not from this planet."

"I am sorry, I still don't understand," replied Dumbledore.

"We are from other planets in this galaxy. We travelled here in order to find other Force users and possible future members of the Republic."

"How is that possible?" asked Dumbledore, seemingly having more trouble with the concept of this than he usually does.

For Harry who has spent most of his time locking eyes with the still hooded guest, it just occurred to him that the idea of aliens was probably something no Pure-Blood wizard would ever really consider.

"Headmaster," interrupted Hermione. "May I suggest we take this conversation inside Hogwarts, we seem to have developed quite a crowd and I think this is going to be a long conversation."

"A good idea Miss Granger. If the three of you would follow me please we can go to my office and talk."

"A good idea Headmaster," agreed Master Jinn who after waving a hand at the ship to raise the ramp, moved to follow Dumbledore, his companions following behind him. "Can I request Mr Potter and Miss Granger's attendance of said meeting, as they were the first people to receive us and also they seem to understand us better."

"Of course, Mr Potter, Miss Granger, please join us."

"Yes Headmaster," replied Hermione eagerly, moving forward in the column to stand beside Obi-Wan, that left Harry to walk beside Knight Aayla Secura. Both of them stared at each other for a moment before following after the others, neither really aware of the excited chattering of the students and teachers from three schools around them or the fate of poor Obi-Wan who was suddenly being subjected to a large amount of rapid fire questions from Hermione.

The pair walked side by side as they entered Hogwarts and followed the others, neither looking at each other more than the corner of their eyes would allow.

When they entered Dumbledore's office Knight Secura's attention along with that of the other jedi was rapidly drawn to the incredible room they were in.

The walls seemed to be lined with many video feed displays that showed many other men and women staring at them and chattering excitably to the next displays along, as if the people at the other end of the video feed could see who was on the display next to theirs. There was also a large amount of odd spinning, humming and buzzing objects on various shelves, several of which got faster or louder as they entered or as they passed them.

They were even more astonished when Dumbledore snapped his fingers and a series of chairs appeared in front and around a large desk which the Headmaster went to sit behind.

The Jedi took the three seats directly opposite the Headmaster, the others including the younglings sat around the desk, a couple of other people who followed them in flanked the Headmaster including a older woman with a serious expression and a dark haired man who had so much black on him he practically repelled light.

"Now Miss Granger," continued the Headmaster. "Would you please continue your explanation."

"It's as I was saying sir, they are from another planet and they don't come from Earth."

"Ridiculous," interrupted the dark haired man. "If they don't come from our planet which of the other planets in our system did they come from?"

"We don't come from your star system Sir," explained Qui-Gon. "We come from planets very far from here."

"There are no other planets outside this solar system," countered the man. "There are just the stars."

Aayla and the other two Jedi exchanged a look, where these the same people who built the satellites and the station in orbit.

"Professor," interceded Miss Granger. "I think I need to explain something to our guests as I get the feeling we are not who they came to see."

"Very well Miss Granger, continue," nodded the Headmaster as the girl turned towards them.

"Masker Jinn, can I ask how you came to the decision to land here?"

"My padawan," he said gesturing to Obi-Wan. "Scanned your satellite network and discovered that this area was supposed to be isolated. We were going to land and then prepare ourselves to address your United Nations."

"I suspected as much," nodded the girl. "What you probably did not find out from the satellites is that there are two distinct groups of people on this planet. The Muggles or non magic users who occupy over ninety five percent of it and the magical community and the magical races that live in secret around it and are only known to Muggles as myths and legends. The reason that you were not able to find out that this castle was here was because its magical and is hidden from the Muggle community. It is the Muggle community who built the satellites and who are part of the UN, the magical world is fairly err...backwards by comparison."

"Miss Granger," interrupted the older woman who it turned out ad a distinctive accent. "How can you possibly describe the wizarding world as backwards, we can fly on brooms, we can communicate over vast distances using the fireplace network and we can travel across the country in the blink of an eye using portkeys, can the Muggles do any of that?"

"Actually yes Professor," replied the girl slightly shyly at having to disagree with one of her tutors. "Muggles had planes that can fly faster than sound can travel, they have instant communication between multiple people at once on opposite sides of the world. The only thing we can do that they can't is apparition and portkey travel, but then again they can travel into space and we cannot."

The professor look quite shocked at the revelation, it sounded like the societies were truly divided if these people did not even know a lot of what went on world.

"The wizarding world is probably at least one hundred if not two hundred years behind the Muggle world. The most modern piece of technology I have seen since coming to Hogwarts was the Hogwarts Express and steam trains have been out of date in the Muggle world for decades." She then turned back to the Jedi and continued. "May I ask why did you came to our planet Master Jinn?"

"Of course Miss Granger," replied Qui-Gon. "We are on a mission to find new civilised worlds that may one day join the Republic, yours would normally not have been advanced enough for us to come but I detected a strong Force presence when we passed through the system."

"My apologise Master Jinn, but I am not familiar with 'the Force'?" inquired Dumbledore.

"The Force is the living force of the universe, some being like the Jedi are capable of controlling it and using it to enhance our abilities."

"Could you give us a demonstration please?" asked Miss Granger.

With a sly smile, Qui-Gon turned to Aayla. With a nod she turned her attention to the dark haired professor and raised her hand.

There was a moment of worry that crossed the man's face before he was lifted off of the floor and floated in mid air.

"Put me down this instance!" he shouted as he nearly bumped into the ceiling.

"If you would not mind Mr Knight," asked Dumbledore.

Turning her cloaked head towards Dumbledore and letting the professor drop to the floor a little bit too fast and dropping her hood for the first time since they landed.

"That's Mistress Knight Headmaster," she grinned as the eyes of all the non jedi in the room doubled in size.

"What," she asked with a slight laugh. "Did you think everyone from space looked like you?"

"I can honestly say that it had not occurred to me until now," replied Dumbledore. "One thing I think we could all do with is some food, I suggest we join the rest of the school for lunch, I think they are going to have a lot of questions. We can resume this conversation afterwards"

"An excellent idea Headmaster," agreed Qui-Gon, standing.

"But first," interrupted Aayla, quickly standing and straightening her cloak and pulling out her gift and placing it on the desk in front of the Dumbledore. "On this first historic meeting of the peoples of Earth and the Republic, we the representatives of the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic present you with this gift to commemorate this great day. It is a replica of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant that I made myself."

The Headmaster was obviously quite good at this as he instantly picked up the gauntlet of the historical conversation.

"I Albus Dumbledore, Grand Sorcerer, Order of Merlin First Class, Headmaster of Hogwarts, Supreme Mugwamp of the International Confederation of Wizards and Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot accept this gift gladly and in return offer..."

The Granger girl was obviously good at thinking on her feet as she provided the answer.

"The Sword of Gryffindor?"

The Headmaster paused reluctantly for a moment then sighing nodded.

"Yes, I present you in return the Sword of Gryffindor; it belonged to one of the four founders of this school in times of old."

"I accept your gift Headmaster Dumbledore," returned Aayla.

After a quick explanation to the Jedi about the tournament and the visiting schools they went down to lunch and never had there been so much chatter and gossip in one room before. Even after Headmaster Dumbledore explained who their new guests were there was still so much chatter in three different languages that it was almost impossible to make out what was being said to anyone else.

Harry had been in a bit of a daze most of the meeting and on the way to and from it, so much so that McGonagall asked if he was ok on the way down to lunch. All he could think about was the Jedi Aayla Secura and not for the obvious reasons of her skin colour, her odd head tentacles and after she had taken her cloak off her very good physic, he just kept thinking that there was something about her that was drawing him to her and from the looks she was sending him, he guessed she was experiencing something similar.

Once at lunch with their new quests joining the professors on the head table almost everyone in the hall spent at least half the time staring at the female Jedi, either due to wonder, fear, curiosity or in quite a few cases desire or lust, only Harry watched her in complete silence, he was aware of Hermione talking and was concentrating enough to give short answers when required but most of the time was spent looking over at the blue woman who spent a great deal of her time looking back.

After lunch had concluded the meeting resumed. Fudge, some officials and a group of aurors turned up shortly after the talks resumed and made himself look like a complete idiot by after talking to the for a few minutes claiming they were liars and that Aayla was actually just a French woman wanting some fame, as her accent sounded almost identical to that of their guests, then went on to turn completely ashen as soon as she lowered her hood before running out of the room and getting a messenger sent from his own office to Dumbledore that he would leave all communication with the strangers in his capable hands. A couple of the members of the Wizengamot including Madam Bones turned up to represent the Wizarding Government and joined in the talks and managed to quieten the complaints that had come flying across the water from every other magical government in the world who all wanted to be included in the talks. In the end it the Jedi themselves who announced that if talks went beyond this initial first stage then they would of course meet with representatives of the Wizarding World as a whole, but for now they were just involved in finding out more about each other and whether an extended series of talks were going to take place.

There were many hours of discussion between the Jedi and the professors in which many things were discussed including determining exactly what it was that Qui-Gon had detected in the Force back in space. Together they worked out that magic and the Force were very similar, the difference being that the Force/magic that wizards used was exclusively from inside their bodies which was something unusual in the Republic whereas the Jedi used the Force/magic inside them and had access to that around them as well.

Many subjects were discussed and many things were shared until the Jedi eventually came to a conclusion on the second evening of their stay.

"They are not ready," Aayla nodded as she sat beside Qui-Gon on their ship.

"No they are not," agreed Qui-Gon. "If their two societies were one possibly, but with all the Force sensitive individuals in this isolated magical community and the more technological advanced but still primitive people occupying the rest of the planet."

"Is the testing complete on the blood samples we took?" she asked.

"I'm just working on the last handful now Knight Secura," confirmed Obi-Wan from the computer bank on other side of the room. "So far we have had no potentially dangerous toxins of any kind that our standard inoculations would not cure and vice versa. All so far have had a higher concentration of midi-chlorians than the average person; hence their 'magic'. Whereas most members of the Republic have a count of around 2,500 the average amongst this population is between 3,000 and 5,000 but only two people so far out of the three schools populations has been above the minimum amount of 7,000 required for admission to the Order."

"Whose were those?"

"Headmaster Dumbledore has a count of 15,600 and Miss Granger was 10,200. A couple of the other teachers came very close to 5,000 but were still short."

"The Headmaster's is quite high, he could have been a powerful jedi," remarked Qui-Gon. "If only had been born in the Re-"

"I don't believe it!" exclaimed Obi-Wan. "It's not possible."

"What is it Obi-Wan," asked Qui-Gon going over to look at the readout before the young padawan. "That is most impressive."

"What is it?" asked Aayla, going over to join them.

"This midi-chlorian count is over 20,000," explained the Master.

"Is that possible?" she asked.

"Evidently," he replied.

"24,100, that indeed is most impressive," pondered Qui-Gon, standing upright and running his hand over his chin in thought. "Whose is it?"

"Mr Potter's, Master."

"The young man with Mr Granger," concluded Qui-Gon.

"I must admit I found him to be quite interesting," acknowledged Aayla.

"We noticed," replied Obi-Wan.

"What do you mean?" she asked turning to him with a slightly defensive tone, wondering what the padawan was suggesting.

"You spent almost the entire morning when you were not talking to one of us staring at each other," Obi-Wan replied with a smirk.

"Was it his strength with the Force that you detected Secura?"

"I don't think so Master Qui-Gon," she replied thoughtfully. "But it's something I need to look into and if his count is as high as that readout suggests he should be a jedi."

"He can't Knight Secura, he's too old," countered Obi-Wan. "The council would not permit it."

"Either way I need to speak to him," replied Aayla, waving her hand as though Obi-Wan's information were unimportant, before walking towards the ramp at the back of the ship.

Once she had left Obi-Wan turned to Qui-Gon.

"Master, how long do we intend to stay?"

"Not long Obi-Wan, a few days though so we can gather some more information about these people first, that way when they are ready we will know more about them. We have also been invited to the last trial of this tournament that is currently under way that takes place in a couple of days, we shall stay for that then leave."

After wandering around the school for a bit looking for Mr Potter, enduing the many stares from the population that her alien anatomy and revealing attire drew she finally found him in the library along with Miss Granger.

"Knight Secura," asked the girl confused. "Can we help you?"

"Yes actually, I was hoping to speak to Mr Potter in private if he doesn't mind."

The boy looked up surprised.

"Of course not Knight Secura," he replied standing up.

"Just remember Harry you are supposed to be practising your curses and jinxes," Hermione called Hermione as they left, earning a nasty glare from the librarian.

"Curses and jinxes?" Aayla asked as she walking out of the library with the boy.

"Hermione's got me practising curses in every available second ready for the last task, your arrival sort of disrupted our research a bit."

"Sorry about that. You would not happen to know anywhere private that we could go to talk would you Mr Potter?"

"Please call me Harry, there would normally be plenty of places but with your presence and the other two schools there are not as many as their used to be but and I think I know the best person to ask. Dobby?"

"Mr Harry Potter called sir?" said a small creature at appeared out of thin air ahead of them. Aayla went for her lightsaber but removed her hand from the hilt when she realised this was who Harry had been calling.

"Do you know a place where we can talk in private Dobby?"

"Yes Mr Harry Potter sir, follow me."

They followed the creatures up several flights of stairs before leading them to a quiet hallway.

"Mr Harry Potter needs to walk back and forth three times in front of this wall whilst thinking about sir wants."

"Thank you Dobby," replied the boy as the creature disappeared. Slightly confused by the instruction but none the less following it the boy started walking. As he passed the wall a third time a door appeared.

The pair exchanged a look before opening the door slowly. The room inside was of a reasonable size, contained five beds with drapes hanging around them in colours of deep red and gold, there were several windows in the wall which appeared to overlook the school grounds.

"This is my dorm room," he explained a bit confused.

"What exactly where you thinking of Harry?" she asked with a slight smile.

"I was thinking that we needed a room where we could talk in private," he replied. "I wasn't expecting this."

"Normally guys offer me a drink before asking me back to their bedrooms," she grinned back causing the boy to go red and open and close his mouth several times."

"I'm just teasing you Harry," she laughed putting her hand on his shoulder. "So which one is yours?"

"Err that one," he gestured recovering a bit from what she had just suggested.

"Let's take a seat and talk then."

Moving over to his bed she immediately climbed on and sat against the headboard crossing her legs. Harry had obviously recovered more than she though as he was able to offer a sly retort.

"I've never known anyone so eager to get into bed with me before."

Aayla blinked for a second, before laughing out loud as he climbed onto the end of the bed and put his back against one of the corner posts so they were roughly opposite each other.

"So," he began.

"So," she returned getting more serious. "I think we both know we felt something when we first saw each other, I don't know exactly what it is but I know it's important."

"I did feel something Knight Secura, I don't know what it is either but I agree it is important."

"Call me Aayla, Harry. Do you remember that part of the meeting when we discussed how jedi access the Force?"

"Yes, those microscopic organisms, midi-chlorian wasn't it allow you to access and control the Force?"

"That's right, the higher the count usually the higher the access to and control the jedi has of the Force. The average human has a count of around 2,500 which is really the minimum that anyone needs to connect to the Force in even the smallest way; a count of 2,000 will mean no contact with the Force at all. The average witch or wizard it turns out has a count of around 3,000 to 5,000 which is higher than average and the high end of that is really the minimum to be able to do anything consciously but still not enough to be a Jedi which requires 7,000. You remember that we took a blood sample from all those at this school?"

"Yes, but I thought that was for checking for diseases, viruses and illness that could affect you and vice versa."

"It was, but it also enabled us to check for midi-chlorians at the same time. Three of the results we got were quite surprising. We had one count of 10,200, another of 15,600 and a third of 24,100."

"I take it that's high?"

"Extremely high, my count for example if only 10,000 and that's about average for most Jedi Knights. I believe Master Qui-Gon has a count similar to mine and that Padawan Kenobi has a higher count of around 13,400."

"Who do those three results belong to?" he asked, though Aayla got the feeling from the expression on his face that he knew at least one of them, and he could probably guess which one, was his.

"The 10,200 was Miss Granger's, the 15,600 the Headmasters and-"

"Please don't say it's me?" he pleaded.

"Sorry Harry but yes it's yours and that is the highest count in history to the best of our knowledge, even the head of our order Grand Master Yoda only has a count of 17,700 and that is considered exceptionally high."

"What does that mean?"

"It means that if you were a Jedi you would have the potential to be the most powerful Force Sensitive in history."

"Oh great, not only am I one of the magical world's most famous people, I am now also supposed to be the most powerful jedi in the galaxy," he groaned.

"I said you had the potential to be Harry, not that you were," she pointed out.

"Mace Windu, the Master of the Order and second only to Grand Master Yoda is probably the best sword master the Order has, he also is an expert of the Force and a truly gifted Jedi and yet his count is lower than Obi-Wan's, it's all about training and experience, Masters Yoda and Windu have lots, Obi-Wan has some, you have only what you have learned as part of this community."

Looking at Harry, Aayla suddenly realised how worn out he looked; no one his age should look so mentally tired.

"What are we going to do about this?"

"I would like to take you back to Coruscant and get you trained but you are too old to enter the Order, training should have started year ago for you, you are now at the age as Padawan Kenobi is when initiates are either chosen by a knight or master to be trained as a knight or is placed into one of the other parts of the Order."

"So you won't take me," he replied sighing.

"You want to go with us?" she asked confused. "I thought you would want to stay here with your friends and family?"

He sighed again almost in sorrow.

"My parents died shortly after I was born protecting me from a dark lord who wanted to take over the world, he was defeated when he tried to kill me when his spell back fired, I got this scar as a result. My only relatives hate everything to do with magic and have treated me like their personal slave since I was old enough to do any sort of chores. And most of my friends are no longer friends."

"Why, what happened?"

"The Tournament happened. The Dark Lord called Voldemort who I defeated when I was a baby is not really dead, he's not alive either but he and his followers want me dead which was why we think my name was put in the cup that selected me for the Tournament."

"I must admit I was wondering why it was called the Triwizard Tournament when there are four of you," she acknowledged.

"It's just another plot to kill me, every year I come to this school my life ends up in danger, but this year is the worst as almost the entire school thinks that I put my name in the cup for the glory of taking part, its only really Hermione, Neville, Cedric and Ginny who think I'm the victim, even my best friend Ron has turned against me. Right now there are only three people on this planet I consider family; Hermione and two of my father's old school friends Remus Lupin and Sirius Black and to be honest I am not even that close to Remus."

"Could you not move in with either of the latter two?"

"Remus is a werewolf," he explained before continuing at her confused look. "Once a month at the three days around the full moon he gets turned into a vicious creatures called a werewolf, it's not his fault and although there is a potion to make him able to control himself he is not able to prevent the transformation so he's not able to take me in, plus the fact that his condition makes it almost impossible for him to find work."

"And Mr Black?"

"He's a convicted criminal, it was believed for years that he betrayed my parents to Voldemort and then killed a street full of Muggles but he was framed and condemned to the worst prison I know of for over a decade, unfortunately most of the wizarding world still believes this is so and we could not prove his innocence."

"There must be other people who would take you in, from what I have seen of this world the kind of slavery you are talking about is not approved of," she said disbelievingly.

"Possible but I have been told by Dumbledore that I need to stay there as its the safest place for me and you are right slavery has been illegal for decades."

"Then why is it allowed?" demanded Aayla, leaning forward. She was not unfamiliar with slavery, on Ryloth her home planet slavery was one of the main currency due to the Twi'lekians lack of their own space travel technology, it was not unusual for the clan chiefs to sell of their subjects, especially the young attractive females. scantily clad Twi'leks served in the majority of the Galaxies bars either as serving girls, dancers, slaves...or worse. But even the chiefs did not sell children.

"I think Dumbledore just tends to ignore what happens there, either that or he does not care."

Aayla was positively fuming, thinking for a moment she leapt off the bed and started towards the door.

"Wait! stop!" Harry called, going after her.

She turned around to see Harry right behind her, a look of defeat on his face.

"It's not worth it," he sighed. "He won't listen and it will only set him against you."

"How did you know I was going to see Dumbledore?"

"Educated guess," he explained. "Just don't bother with him, I'm not worth it."

"Never say such things Harry," she replied hotly, kneeling down in front of him and taking his head in her hands and making him look directly into her eyes, green into brown. "Never!"

He slowly reached up and took her hands tenderly from his face before replying in a voice that said that her words hadn't changed his opinion at all.

"It's nice of you to say so."

He gave her a weak smile and walked her slowly back towards the bed before sitting on the edge where she sat beside him. They remained in silence for a minute or two before something he had said occurred to her.

"Harry, what did you mean by you being one of the magical world's most famous people, this tournament isn't that widely known is it?"

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"You know I said the spell that Voldemort cast against me to kill me backfired and crippled him, well that was during his first reign of terror when his servants and him were terrorising the country, torturing innocents etc so when I, a baby no less defeated the most dark wizard of the time I became quite famous. Because I went on to live with my aunt and uncle I did not see the wizarding world until I turned eleven so the world came out in force to use me to their advantage, Dumbledore, one of our former professors and our minister to name but a few. My fame has only increased though as each year something has happened that I have been in the middle of; my first year I thought our defence professor who had been possessed by Voldemort and managed to defeat him, by pure blind luck, there was some skill involved in getting to the fight but none during the actual fight itself. Second year students started getting attacked and everyone thought I was responsible; I then end up fighting this monstrous sized poisonous snake and a ghost like remnant of Voldemort from his childhood days in order to save a student who had been kidnapped. In my third year my godfather Sirius who everyone believed was a mass murder escaped from prison and everyone was convinced was coming to kill me which resulted in myself and Hermione having to save his life, fight off a load of soul sucking creatures which were being using as guards around the school and Remus in his uncontrolled werewolf form and then this year I get entered into this tournament which I am far too young to supposed to be able to compete in. So basically every year since I turned eleven my life has been threatened at least once a year and we are now waiting to find out what will happen this year."

There were a couple of seconds of silence before either of them spoke.

"You don't have much luck do you," she smiled.

"Oh on the contrary," he laughed I have plenty of luck, just most of its bad, I have just enough good luck to keep me alive and that's it."

"You really think something is going to happen this year too?"

"I'm certain of it," he replied. "I didn't put my name down for the tournament, there should only be three champions which means I am here because someone wants to kill me again, we just don't know who."

Making a decision then and there Aayla got up and dropped to her knees in front of him.

"Harry, We have been invited to the end of the tournament, I am going to swear this to you right now, I will not leave this planet until you are safe back in your home, or at least as safe as you can be. Even if Master Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan leave I will stay here until the end of this school year to make sure you survive it. I will not let ANYTHING happen to you, I swear it!"
