Harry Potter, The Jedi That Would Not Die
Chapter 4 – Terrible Consequences
Obi-Wan realised after several minutes of no one being able to move at the end of the conflict that he was going to have to take charge and start the clean up. He may still be very young but he knew what he had to do. His master was down, Secura was still comforting Harry and no one else seemed in a position to do anything else.
He quietly gave orders to the Captain and the crew to tie up any of the clocked figures that were still alive and to make sure they were stable. Then to move their wounded to the passenger areas and to tend to them while the remaining crew move both the live and dead enemies up to the ship's cargo hold. They would move their dead back to the ship at the end with more reverence.
It took an hour to complete all of the above as no one felt in any particular desire to move quickly, the mood was decidedly melancholy.
"What's the status of our wounded Captain," he asked quietly from the ships ramp, very aware of Hermione being inside the ship and of Harry and Secura about twenty meters away exactly where they had been for the last hour, the position they were in had changed slightly but barely at all. He could see Harry's arms tightly wrapped around Aayla's back, pressing her head-tails into her back. It must be quite painful for her, head-tails were very sensitive and grabbing them too tight could even render a Twi'lek unconscious, but he had been holding her like that for almost an hour and she had not complained once.
"Master Qui-Gon seems to be ok, he's got a nasty gash to his side, but when he awoke a few minutes ago and I told him you were handling everything he smiled, nodded and seemed to go to sleep."
"He's probably meditating to heal himself," replied Obi-Wan, silently slightly proud that his master was confident enough in his abilities to leave him in charge of this disaster recovery.
"Four other members of the crew were injured, one died of his injuries, the others are stable."
"I'm sorry about your crew member Captain."
"Don't worry about it sir, we all heard a bit about young Mr Potter's circumstances, we were all fine with coming to help him and we all know that first contact situations can occasionally go very wrong. He was a brave officer and knew the risks, you have nothing to apologise for sir."
"Thank you Captain. Prepare the ship for takeoff, we need to get back to the castle and let everyone know what's happened, they are probably frantic by now. I just don't know how to approach Knight Aayla and Harry to get them aboard. Any suggestions?"
"Not really sir, though I did hear the young witch saying something about the cup being a portkey whatever that is to one of the crew when she had recovered a bit. She said something like 'if only they had just picked it up again it would have brought them back'."
"Thank you Captain, I will speak to her."
Slowly walking inside he went up to Hermione who was sitting wrapped in a blanked next to the bodies of her best friend, Cedric and Sirius, her eyes red from tears.
"Hermione," he asked softly.
She slowly turned to him.
"I'm really sorry to disturb you but I need to ask you something."
"Yes Obi-Wan?" she replied a bit shakily.
"I need to know what you said to the crew about a 'portkey'?"
She gave a sniff and started to speak.
"The cup...it must have been a portkey, we use them to travel long distances very quickly. The cup must have been made into one by whoever sent Harry and Ced...and Cedric here."
"You said it could also transport people back?"
"Yes, portkeys work in two directions, when they touch it again it should bring them back to Hogwarts."
"Thank you Hermione, you might want to go up to one of the decks and take a seat, we will be taking off again soon."
"I'll stay here," she replied.
Nodding, he slowly got up and went back outside the ship. He moved around to where Aayla would be facing him if she was looking up before gently reaching out with his mind to touch hers.
As she felt his presence she looked up slightly, not moving her arms at all.
Yes Obi-Wan?
We are going to take everyone else back to the castle, we need to let them know what has happened. Hermione has told me that the cup over there will take you both back to Hogwarts like it brought them here if you take a hold of it.
Thank you Obi-Wan, and thank you for taking care of everything.
It was no problem Knight Secura
You did well Obi-Wan.
He nodded once more to her and went back to the ship, which then took off rustling the dead leaves on the ground before disappearing into the sky.
A couple of minutes after the ship left Aayla determined that she had better try to get Harry back to the castle, although unlikely there could still be enemies about and Harry was in need of medical care, other than the numerous scrapes, bumps and scratches from the fight, when he had been wielding her lightsaber he had nicked his leg in the process, the wound was light and because of the nature of lightsabers the wound was almost entirely cauterised but it still needed treating.
Sighing to herself she quietly spoke.
"Harry,"
No response.
"Harry, I'm afraid we need to go."
He stirred slightly and tilted his face upwards to look at her, his eyes were red and wet from tears, large and filled with sorrow.
"I don't know what to do?" he said despairingly.
"You are coming back with me is what you are going to do," she said firmly. "You need a new start a long way from this, away from that horrible family of yours, away from the people he keep trying to kill you."
"You'll...You'll take me to be trained as a jedi?" he asked pleadingly.
"If that's what you want, yes."
"What...what if I'm not good enough."
"That happens all the time Harry, there are other jobs in the Order other than that of knights, if you are not quite up to the mark, which I doubt, you will join one of those roles. Do not worry Harry, either way you will have a place with us."
"Thank you," he gasped, hugging her tightly once more.
"It will be my pleasure Harry," she replied smiling slightly, before picking them both of the floor. "Come Harry, let's get back to the school. Obi-Wan should have explained everything so there should not be anyone there to bother us when we get there."
After picking up her discarded lightsaber, with one arm firmly wrapped around Harry they walked over to the cup and as one picked it up.
Obi-Wan was instantly bombarded with dozens of questions as they landed. As he explained what happened cries of loss and anguish went up. The man who turned out to be the father of Cedric and the family of Ron all rushed into the ship distraught as they heard about them dying and their wale's and cries could be heard even through the bulkheads.
The Minister of the country ended up starting quite a frantic argument with Dumbledore and himself when he told them about Voldemort, arguing that he could not possible be back and that he was dead and that they were lying, thought he could not explain the 'Death Eaters' attacking them and how four of their number had ended up dead.
By the time Aayla and Harry arrived back a few minutes later they had managed to disperse much of the crowd but Fudge was still arguing with Dumbledore and Obi-Wan over what happened. An older professor with an artificial eye took them both to his office to avoid the arguments.
"Here drink this," he said giving them both drinks. Aayla downed hers quickly while Harry stared on, only just aware of what was happening.
"Is what the boy said true," asked the gruff man. "Was You-Know-Who there?"
"Yes," she replied, having guessed this was what most people called Voldemort. "Until Harry was able to defeat him."
"What did he do?" the man asked.
"He cast a spell against him," she replied, slightly worriedly as her vision and concentration was blurring.
"What spell?"
"Avada something I think," she replied, her head dropping forward before she caught herself and tried to sit up, only for her to start sliding sideways. "What...What's happening to me?"
"That would be the strong sleeping draught I put in your drink. I needed you out the way while I take care of Potter here. A year's worth of work ruined by a boy."
"You...You're the one who made the cup a portkey," she stated figuring it out and trying to stand and drawing her lightsaber, only for her to fall to the floor, her lightsaber skidding across the floor to the other side of the room.
"Yes I was and know I will kill Potter here, my master might be gone but I will have my revenge for him ruining all my plans."
"No..." she managed to say before her vision went black and she was lost to the world of dreams.
Off to the south in an empty graveyard a black mist started to gather into a single cloud, it condensed and solidified into a ghostly form of Lord Voldemort.
"You may have won this round Harry Potter, but the blow I struck to you was stronger, and now I know what I must do."
The misty figure seemed to dissipate as it moved off in search of information, it had to know what had happened since his latest defeat.
"Harry!" Aayla shouted as she awoke.
"Easy Knight Secura," said a middle aged woman in an apron. "You have just awoken from a very powerful sleeping potion, you have been out for two days."
"Where's Harry, that professor he-"
"Dumbledore got there in time to stop him," the woman interrupted. "He got you sent here to the Hospital Wing to wait for you to come around, we did not want to risk trying to revive you early as we don't know enough about your physiology."
Aayla sighed in relief.
"Thank goodness," she breathed, swinging her legs around off the bed.
"You be careful," the apparent nurse said as she stood slightly shakily. "You've been out for a while, go and eat something and don't try to do anything too strenuous for a few hours ok."
Aayla nodded and carefully moved off in the direction of the ship.
When she arrived and went up the ramp she was greeted by the sight of a very angry looking Qui-Gon and even more unusually and even more angry looking Obi-Wan, both sitting in chairs in the main common room area.
"What's happened?" she asked, drawing both of their attention.
"Secura, your awake, good," nodded Qui-Gon.
"Answer my question please Master Qui-Gon, I hate it when people try to avoid answering my questions."
The pair exchanged a look before the elder started speaking.
"It's about Harry."
"What's happened?" she demanded.
Miles away on a small island off the Scottish coast stood a black fortress. A sense of evil flowed off the building in all directions. A few humans stood guard at a dock at the south end of the island, waiting for the boat that was arriving.
The silent boat glided up to the dock and was tied off before two aurors stood up and pulled up their prisoner with them.
The prisoner looked up despairingly at the imposing fortress, his eyes barely giving any sign of internal life.
He was half carried half dragged up to the building, the sense of evil and terror over the building increasing with every meter further making it harder and harder for him to walk upright as his nightmares started playing out in front of his waking eyes.
He was dragged inside and down several staircases before being thrown into a cell and the door was sealed behind him leaving him in almost pitch darkness.
"There you go boy, you're own private room complete with running water, especially when it rains, four sturdy and impenetrable walls and a nice old mattress full of biting insects. We apologise for the stench of wet animal but the last person to be in here was Sirius Black, we thought it was appropriate considering what you did. Sleep tight, I'm sure the dementors won't bother you too much."
The guard then walked off with a crackling laugh as one of the creatures in question drifted in front of his cell and the memories of how he got there resurfaced.

It was early in the morning of the day after the battle of the graveyard and Harry was in the hospital wing when it happened.
A pair of aurors accompanied by Minister Fudge came into the room grabbed him, bound his hands and carried him out before Madam Pomfrey could even voice an objection. He was taken straight to the Ministry, not giving anyone a chance to stop what was happening and before he knew it he was sitting chained and magically silenced in front of a board of wizards at his trial for murder.
In quick order he was accused of aiding an escaped convict, killing two innocent people and attacking defenceless wizards.
The surviving Death Eaters from the previous day were all quickly wheeled out and all gave identical stories about what had happened. How they had been pleasantly minding their own business when they had spotted the escaped mass murder Sirius Black, how with their greater numbers they believe they could subdue him only for him to lead them into a trap set up by Black, Potter and their friends from the other planet or wherever it was who unfortunately as they were not citizens of any of the magical governments could not be brought to trial.
They all explained how they had seen Harry laughing over the body of his opponent from the tournament before the trap was sprung and they were engaged in a fire fight in which an unknown wizard had tried to come to their aid and had even managed to capture and kill the criminal Black after he had turned on his friends and killed a friend of Harry's Ronald Weasley who had bravely come to their aid to try and stop Harry. When Black was dead they said, Harry had fired the killing curse at the man and then had gone on to mutilate his corpse with one of the Jedi's strange weapons in his fury over Black's death. They then subdued the rest of them and accused them of being Death Eaters to cover themselves.
The prosecution then brought on a Healer from St. Mungo's who said that is was likely all a fame building exercise, not only would he win the tournament but he could then he claim that he had defeated Voldemort again and captured all these Death Eaters, the only flaw apparently was his arrogance at thinking that we would not ask the perfectly innocent victims of Harry's evil plot what had happened.
Any evidence that might have been presented in his defence, like testimony from Hermione or the fact that she was even there was discarded before she was even told that he was on trial because she would obviously say whatever she could to save the boy the whole world knew she was sleeping with.
Before the hour was even out, the judges had passed sentence. Two life imprisonment sentences in Azkaban for use of an Unforgivable against the unknown wizard and Cedric Diggory, thirty years for aiding in the attempted escape of Sirius Black and another fifty for the attacks on innocent wizards.
He was given no chance to give his side of the story, just like Sirius he was being sentenced with being given a proper trial and now he would share his fate.

Lying in his cell shaking as the visions of his trial left him, the images of Ron's and Sirius's deaths at the graveyard took their place. This was the start of his life now, how long would it be before we went insane, he had no animagus form to hide in like Sirius, he would go mad like all the rest that he could hear wailing, cackling insanely and whimpering in the other cells.
