Chapter 4 - Qin Man

Before I begin, I want to say that English is not my native language, so I may make grammatical mistakes. If you find any, please let me know so I can correct them. Thank you and enjoy reading.

The common bandits, how should I say this, are bastards to us mountain fortresses. Why? Well, it's simple: they don't follow the unwritten rules of Mount Qingniu. They rob everyone, act like animals. In short, they're not nice guys, even among the scum.

And right now, I'm standing in front of these same bandits. I got out of the carriage and walked towards them, but I decided to give them a contrast because they are the weakest force on this mountain. So I just did what Aoki did.

Me: Hey, look over there!

I said, pointing at them in a certain direction.

All the bandits simultaneously turned their heads in the direction I pointed.

Bandit A: What is Ther*?

Suddenly he felt someone hit him under the chin and he fell to the ground.

The other bandits were confused and didn't notice me running back to the carriage. And after I got to him, I immediately hit the horse with my sword to make it run as fast as possible.

The bandits watched all this silently at first, but suddenly one of them shouted:

**GRAB HIM!**

After these words, horsemen appeared out of nowhere, who seemed ready for me to do something. This scared me a little, because there were a lot of them, and I clearly couldn't handle them. After that, I remembered Qin Man, so I just started shouting:

**Qin Man, I choose you!**

When there was no response, I decided to say something else:

**Answer my call, greatest hunter!**

Silence again, which was interrupted by a bandit approaching my carriage.

Bandit: Stop, son of a bitch, let yourself be killed!

I didn't stand on ceremony and immediately replied:

Me:Fuck you!

After my words, I heard someone's voice calling me. Turning towards the voice, I saw him. He had red hair and was incredibly muscular. He was holding a spear in his hands, and I recognized him immediately.

**QIN MAN!!!**

Qin: Yes, I am.

Qin: Master, don't panic. Why? Because I'm here, nothing else matters.

I immediately drove the carriage towards him, and after I reached him, he stood in front of the bandits who were chasing me.

The bandits, seeing the man in front of them, shouted:

Get the hell out of the way!

Qin Man gripped his spear tighter, and before striking the bandit, he said:

Get off!

And then he stopped the horse in its tracks with just brute force. I couldn't believe my eyes - inhuman strength.

After that, the bandits froze in place, confused. Just now, in front of their eyes, a man stopped the horse in its tracks.

They decided not to mess with him and simply ran away, leaving them with only the horse.

Watching this, I sighed in relief and immediately headed towards Qin Man, hitting him on the back. I immediately thanked him:

Thank you very much, Qin Man! If it weren't for you, I would have been lying dead somewhere.

Qin Man: No thanks, young master. It would be better to give me the right to join your fortress.

To be honest, I don't remember why he joined the bandits. I should ask him.

Me: I'm happy to accept you - people like you are hard to find, but tell me one thing: why would such an outstanding person join the bandits?

After my question, there was silence, and it was clear that he was collecting his thoughts. After a few minutes, he opened his mouth:

I was once a hunter who lived near the city of Heishi with his wife. My wife was very beautiful, and this attracted the attention of a nobleman of the city. He first heard rumors, but then he himself came to my house and offered money in exchange for my wife. He wanted to make her his concubine. I immediately refused and asked him to leave my house.

After that, his last words were that I would regret this. A few days later, when I was away, some soldiers broke into my house to capture my wife. She ran from them until she reached a cliff. There, seeing that she had nowhere else to run, she jumped off the cliff in despair...

And when I returned home, it was too late. In a fit of rage, I broke into the city and killed ten guards, thereby becoming a criminal. Unfortunately, I could not get to that nobleman because I now have the mark of a criminal. I decided to join the Toad Fortress.

After finishing his story, a glow appeared behind me, and behind it was the inscription:

...Quest...
