Lottie felt wronged.
"How the heck would I know if you don't tell me? Do you expect everyone to be like you to know what this so-called thing is huh? You imbecile. Pah!" Lottie thought to herself as she maintained her docile smile.
"Of course, Mr Wise, I really don't know this thing you keep talking of."
"General, its possible Ms Lottie really doesn't know of the thing. Old Madam Everhart must've kept it from her. She's still young after all." Lottie gave the man in black a thumps up in her heart. Finally, someone without a one-track mind.
Lottie felt Gio Wise's gaze on her.
"That's possible." Gio Wise walked up to her. "But you still have to come with us."
Gio wise turned towards the man in black and ordered, "Take her back immediately and treat her wounds."
"Yes, General." The man in black gestured towards Lottie. "This way Ms Lottie."
Lottie had no choice but to compromise for both her grandma's and her safety. Besides it wouldn't hurt for her to try and get information from them.
With that in mind, Lottie obediently entered the car.
"Ms Lottie, sorry for not introducing myself yet. My name is Kurt Connors. I am General Wise's right-hand man." Kurt started the car and looked through the rear-view mirror.
"You have to bear with the pain for now Ms Lottie. We can only get you treated once we get to the Wise Mansion." Kurt said apologetically.
Lottie didn't mind at all.
"Thank you, Mr Connors."
"You don't have to thank me, Ms Lottie. And you can call me Kurt."
The whole journey took about 6 hours from the forest to the Wise Mansion.
On the way, Lottie asked a lot of things about the past.
Kurt told her that her family used to be very powerful, standing on par with the Wise family.
But it was not known how or why, but her family was persecuted twenty years ago by an unknown force. Her family held out for a year before they finally fell.
Lottie listened quietly as Kurt narrated the past. He seemed to be in his late twenties and yet he was very knowledgeable about it.
It was like Kurt didn't mind Lottie keeping quiet as he continued to talk on his own.
From his mouth Lottie came to know of her father and mother. Her father was a bright and handsome man. He was smart and strong, compassionate and kind, and also came from a good background. He was the dream man of every maiden in Zephyr.
