The bright red and orange light of the approaching sun shone on the world in all its glory and brilliance. The fresh air after the rain was refreshing . If one was in a good mood, they would have run a few kilometres to maintain their resilience.
But this was not for the current residence of a small nameless cave in a dense forest.
Who knew how many people might have visited or set their ground in this cave, only to be washed away by the ever forward flow of time. Taking everything in the past as memories or remnents.
In this nameless cave, some nameless figures, not known in the world, have just now started to cook their food soon after waking up from a deserved sleep.
A young girl was lighting the fire and then some metres away a young man in yellow robes and a calm expression was watering the fresh meat of its remaining blood.
Some distance away, inside the cave, part of the rocks and the ground were swept clean and flat with soft dirt with leaves on top. On top of the leaves was placed a white blanket.
A 15-year-old with a pale face that looked much younger than his supposed age.
Thick bandages, and ripped pieces of clothes were wrapt all around his back, his left and right shoulders, his forearms and on his left foot.
Occasionally he would shiver for a moment or two but then would calm down. Some waves of cold wind that managed to reach him, sent chills down his whole body.
It was, of course, Zuigao. Well, the pain had atleast subsided a little.
His slight round face was still devoid of emotion and with some eyebags.
He then remembered vividly how he had reached his or..their way back thanks to his guidance, which quite fatigued him even more.
During the whole time, his mind was cloudy, and he felt as though his thinking speed and the ability to make safe and complex decisions had been taken away from him.
His physique has helped a lot.
Now he felt as if his small cracks all over his bones were now healed and some major ones would only inflict pain if he moved that specific bone.
*Grumble* * grumble*
Soon these sounds came freely from his quiet stomach. He was hungry, a lot hungry.
He stood up, using the hilt of the sword as a support while making his way to the fire.
Wu Li rushed over as soon as she saw him.
Supporting him, he sat down on the clean floor.
The warmth of the fire soon reached him, and he felt as though a constant pain in his mind was gone.
Silently relaxing and not moving much, he heard the soft but echoing footsteps of Jing Hong.
"I got some fruits, please wash them so they don't lose their luster taste", he spoke respectfully.
Zuigao saw that his friend was now finally relaxed as the sounds of footsteps grew lower and his ragged breathing became more natural.
Now all three, sitting near the fire, were enjoying its bright orange flames.
Some wood died out, and occasionally Wu Li pushed the remaining wood forward into the flames, producing star specks like particles that flew into the air.
Eventually, one landed on a bright red apple.
The fruits were there and then silently, Wu Li took an apple and fed it to him.
Zuigao didn't know what season it was, like his earlier hypothesis that it maybe near to winter, but that was wrong.
But he didn't care and let his thoughts wander around and just focused on eating.
Thinking about what he will do next.....
