Alana, seated on the stairs at the schools entrance her gaze fixed on the school gates, wondering just how long it was going to be before someone would come pick her up. A while later a black car pulled up and upon seeing it, she just let a sigh before making her way to the car.
"Late again, as usual", Alana spoke, her voice laced with hints of anger, annoyance, and frustration.
The man seated at the driver's seat, his hands on to wheel with his hands still on the steering wheel wearing a pair of spectacles, just gave glanced at her before turning his gaze away.
"Of course, what else is new", she underneath her breath, having got used to being ignored before opening the car's door and then entering, seating at the front next to the man.
Upon entering the car, the man readied the car to leave with her but before they could depart from the school they heard someone calling out.
"Mr. Williams", a familiar voice called out, drawing the attention of both Alana and the man.
"Not this again", Alana spoke underneath her breath, recognizing who the belonged to.
Alana's teacher then rushed to the car. Standing right outside the car and staring at both Alana and the man.
"Mr. Williams I would like to speak to you about your daughter", she spoke in a serious and stern tone.
"Are her grades going down?" was the man asked.
"No, it's not about her grade it's…" the teacher was cut off midsentence by the man saying, "I'm a very busy man and I don't have the time to spend on trivial matters. So whatever the matter is with Alana, if it doesn't involve her academics, that being the main reason I enrolled her in this school, I would rather you don't waste my precious time discussing it".
The teacher was greatly taken aback by the man's response, not expect a parent to call a matter relating to their as trivial.
"Dad, can we go now. I've had a long day and I just want to go home", said Alana to the man with huff and an annoyed look on her face.
"Good day", the man said before raising up the car's glass windows and then proceeded to drive away and out of the school grounds, leaving the teacher standing the teacher just standing there with mix of shock and confusion expressive on her face, finally understanding where Alana got her disrespectful attitude from.
Alana, laughing out as hard as she could before turning to man, "Mean, with the way you spoke to her, I could have sworn you were really him".
The man's appearance then began to glitch, revealing him to nothing more then robot designed to take on the appearance of her father.
"Let me guess, he was too busy to come pick me up himself", said Alana.
The robot gave her no reply, simply focused on the road ahead.
Alana then let up a sigh before saying, "Yeah, I can't even tell the difference".
The girl then turned to the window and spotted a family going out for ice scream, spotting the smiling face of the kid with his parents, before letting out a deep internal and saying, "Must be nice".
