Chapter 30 - Who exactly are you

The bell rung as Exelirus made his way to class, once there he took his sit at the back next to Alana. Stealing glance at her as he took his seat, noticing that this time she awake, albeit partial as her eyes were dim and barely open, her sunken and drowsy, her was still as messy as it was the previous day, and she would often let out a yawn. She looked as though she was going to slump and collapse on her desk at any moment, making Exelirus wonder at point if she was even conscious or maybe she was sleeping with her eyes open. Simple glance his way was enough to get him off guard and let him know that she was awake and caught him staring. Exelirus, embarrassed by the fact he had been caught staring at her immediately diverted his gaze away from her and on to the teacher who had just enter the class.

The teacher the began the class and Alana, watching as she taught just let out a tired sighed and then a yawn, seeming, uninterested with the class or what the teacher was teaching. With a bored and tired look on her face, it seemed as though she was doing nothing more than trying to pass the time while simultaneously trying not to asleep. Exelirus then glanced at her once more, noticing how the other children were taking notes and paying attention to what the teacher was teaching, all except her. She just sat there on her seat half away, uninterested, seeming paying little to no attention to the class, making Exelirus wonder, what up with her.

Soon the lunch bell rung and then the children rushed out of the classroom and in to the cafeteria to have their lunch. Exelirus, standing with his lunch books amidst the crowd of kids seated on their, found vacant seat or table as they were all occupied, all except for a single table occupied a single lone girl with enough room for him.

"Mind if I seat?" He asked with a nervous smile on his face.

Alana who was busy focusing on her meal just briefly casted her gaze to him before returning it back to her meal. Exelirus, seeing that she didn't seem to mind his presence, took a seat on the vacant spot on the table across from her before proceeding with his meal, stuffing his face with honey caramel syrup pancakes pack with an enough sugar to leave child his getter before having a sugar crash. Exelirus dug in to his meal, seemingly noticing the stares from the other kids, partly out of awe and partly jealous. He was so engrained in his meal that he failed notice that passing glances of intrigue Alana shot his ways. In about a minute after Exelirus had pulled out a massive stake of pancakes from his lunch box, Exelirus let out a belch as he swallowed the final pancake.

Alana who had just witnessed him stuff his face, questioned herself on how that twig of a boy seated could be capable of eating all that and still be so thin. Was he some kind of alien, Alana thought to her as she snuck a glance at him, thinking and wondering to her just who was the strange kid seated across from her.

The ringing of the bell signaled it was time for recess. All the kids then rushed out on to the playground to play and fun. Exelirus once again found himself standing by the corner, watching the other children as they played together but unable to bring himself to join them. He simply let out a sigh as he watched them play.

"What's your problem?" a voice startled him, causing him to turn around to see none other than Alana standing behind him.

"Alana?" he spoke shoked to see that it was her talking to him.

Alana just stared at him for a few minutes, seeming examining him with her eyes before letting out a breath and saying, "Nope, I get you".

"What?", said Exelirus.

"You are detached but at the same time you seem curious. You don't fit it here and you know it but your trying to but you can't because you don't want to", said Alana.

Exelirus eyes widened in shock upon hearing what she just said, aback not just by her words. Looking at her, still in shock, Exelirus couldn't help but wonder, just who exactly was this girl.

"Did I scare you or something? Sorry about that, I'm not exactly good at talking or any form of interaction to be honest", Alana spoke with a littlee embarasssment upon noticing the impact her words had on him.

"Er...It's quite alright. I...was just taken aback a bit, that's all", Exelirus spoke, regaining his composure.

Alana upon hearing what he said smiled with a sly grin on her face before grabbing hold,, greatly taking him aback.

"Come on", she then proceeded to drag him all the way to the swings and before knew or could process what was going on he found himself seated on a swing with Alana right beside him on the other swing wondering what was going on and questioning how she managed to get him on the swings.

"Isn't this fun", she spoke while propelling herself back and on the swing.

"Fun?" Exelirus questioned while remaining stagnant on his swing, almost as though he could not grasp the concept.

"It isn't, isn't it? At least not to you", she spoke as she stop propelling her and her swing slowly came to halt next to him.

"Who exactly are you?" she asked inquisitively.

"Huh", he replied with a bit of shock and confusion, not understanding her question.

"You're not like the other kids", she with her fixed on the other children as they played.

"No, you're more reserved, less care, and a bit dense not to mention the fact that you can an entire mountain food that would probably send any grown man to the ER", said Alana with a smile on her face causing Exelirus to look at her questioningly, wonder if she just insulted him.

"And it's not that you don't fit in because of some strange quirk. It's more like you out right don't belong almost as though you're some kind of alien", said Alana startling Exelirus a bit, wondering if she might have somehow figure he was an alien.

"An alien, me? What makes you say that", Exelirus spoke with a fake and nervous smile recalling how Daniella cautioned him about never ever revealing his identity as an alien and how doing so would most likely end up putting him in either a lab for dissection or a cell.

Alana just smiled upon seeing his reaction before saying, "From the way you reacted, I'm starting to really think you might actually be an alien".

"What?!?!", Exelirus spoke with beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

Alana upon seeing his reaction couldn't help but let out a giggle be saying, "Relax, I don't think you're an alien, you're way too dense to be an alien".

Exelirus, though thankful she didn't think he was an alien, was slightly offended that she thought he was way too dense to be an alien especial since he actually was an alien.

"But you are extremely weird for a human", said Alana.

Exelirus, having got tired of remarks, finally decided to ask her, "What do you want".

Alana upon hearing what she just hummed before saying, "Nothing, just a little curious. There is something about that piques my interest".

"And what exactly might that be?" Asked Exelirus, wondering why exactly Alana was so interested on him.

"Don't know", she spoke before getting of the swing and then as if right on queue, the ran ending recess causing all the children to leave the play ground and make their way back to their classes.

"But, I'm going to find", Alana spoke bright and playful smile on her face before leaving Exelirus on the swing question just who exactly is she.
