That day, Nina was beaming with happiness as the thought of what happened with Wei Guang replayed itself in her mind. The feeling she was experiencing was new and exciting to her little Saul.
All felt wonderful as she walked to her father's study room. It came across her mind so she decided to inform her father about her newly found relationship with Wei Guang.
Standing in front of the wooden door and forming her hands into a fist in order to knock on the door, Nina's heart thumped loudly inside her chest. She stayed like that for a few more seconds before hearing a low but firm 'come in' come from inside.
"Hello,my dear. How was school?"
Mr Zhang asked in a low voice with eyes still fixed on the work. His eyes were welcomed by dark circles under them. His lips looked dehydrated and his skin seemed paler than usual. He probably overworked himself cause his work desk was filled with paperwork for signing. The little night lamb settled on the desk whilst giving enough light for the prime minister to be able to see his work. Close to it was a pen and a stamp.
"School was fine and very exciting. Today was one of the best days of my life."
"Oh really. Now I'm curious as to what must have made my daughter this happy"
"Well,father," Nina was quite nervous to tell her father but she knew she had to.
"I'm waiting"
"Oh yes. Father, I'm guessing you already know that Wei Guang came back right"
"Yes,what makes you think I wouldn't?"
"You are ever so busy. You sometimes don't realize things in this house"
"True!" Mr Zhang agreed and shrugged it off. Knowing awfully well that she was right.
"And he's made me happy the past few years. He keeps me company despite my heartless expressions at times. He never leaves me alone. He takes care of me and makes sure I'm smiling and alright. He's the best friend I ever asked for since mother left"
"Nina,what are you trying to say?" He uttered, continuing to sign his papers.
"I'm trying to say that Wei Guang and I got close to the point we've started developing feelings for each other and we are in a relationship."
Mr Zhang finally dropped his pen and closely stared at the mistake he made whilst signing and groaned.
"Say that again"
"Wei Guang and I are now in a relationship and I wanted you to know - "
"That's enough, Nina." He calmly stopped her.
"I'm glad that you've found and now experiencing love"
Nina's hopes went her at what he just said, "Does that mean?".
"But unfortunately I can't allow you to date him".
Nina's smile instantly dropped. She worked close to her father knelt down and gripped his arm.
"Why not father?"
"Simply because "
" Because of what?"
"Nina,I think it's best you go to your room"
"No father, Not until you tell me the reason why you can't allow me to date him"
"Nina, that's enough! Go to your room!"
Nina shrinked at her father's voice. He never yelled at her but instead calmly explains anything she'd need to know.
She therefore became angry.
"Father"
"Nina!"
"Why can't I. I'm no longer a child. I'm in University for Pete's sake and finally experienced love and suddenly you just wanna say no"
"Listen to me"
"No I won't, I'm done here"
With that said, Nina marched to the door and exited the room.

Nina sat on her bed and sighed. She didn't expect her father to react in such a way. It angered her a lot. Sometime ago, she'd ask him why he divorced her mother but he never gave her a reply. She tried her best reaching her mother but she completely went off as though death eliminated her existence for good. It worried Nina a lot. Pushing all that at the back of her head, Nina decided it was time she got ready for bed.
By the time she settled unde the sheets ,her phone dinged. Notifying her of a message. She opened her phone and saw that it was a message from Wei Guang.
Wei Guang : Hello Lil Rosy
Hi! Wei Guang : Nina
Wei Guang : I've got exciting news to tell you
Oh,what is it : Nina
Wei Guang : Do you know what day tomorrow is?
Hmhmm,I don't know: Nina
Wei Guang : Oh,try to think harder.
I got nothing : Nina
Wei Guang : Lights,treats,Custines,fire!
Still doesn't ring a bell : Nina
Wei Guang : Tomorrow's the dragon festival you fool.
Ooh ... Hey! : Nina
Wei Guang : Hahaha, sorry. It will be held at the Gong Qing national park.
Oh! So what about the festival : Nina
Wei Guang : I wanted to take you out and found out about the festival. Out first date. How does that sound?.
Nina faught the urge to tell wei Guang about her father's reaction. Should I tell him or not? But he seems so happy.

Once Nina dropped her phone,she stared at the ceiling for quite sometime. She felt so stupid not being able to tell wei Guang about her father's reaction. But may be she doesn't have to. But again that's deceiving to both of them. Just thinking about all this makes her restless.
"I'll just go think about it tomorrow"
With that said,Nina set an alarm for 06 in the morning, turned off the lights and finally closed her eyes.
