Chapter 3 - Chapter three: They will suffer alone

Wei Guang was happy to see that Nina got dressed and came out. He observed as she walked down the stair case. He couldn't help but examine her outfit. She wore a tight leather dress in black ,topped with a black leather jacket. She wore high black boots that went all the way to her knees. Her hair was tied to a bun decorated with cute bunny shaped harpins. Her earings duzzled as it shined like a diamond.

"Stop staring. Can we go now"

"Oh yeah,sure,after you"

Wei Guang internally slapped himself for embarrassing himself and gently opened the front left door of his car for Nina to hop on. He closed it shut and boarded on the other side. Hitting the gas and driving off.

***********

Close to the far end of the city was an unfinished building. Once they parted close to it they entered in and climbed the stair case. Pulling up what seems to be blocking the only way to the roof top. They got on top and closed it again. It was 6pm already and the sun was setting. Wei Guang stood behind Nina as she walked by the far end of the roof and stared at the beautiful sunset.

Nina could stand right there and watch the sun take it's rest, biding fare well before the moon ascends and take its place.

Every bit of emotion Nina felt came crushing like a tornado. Before she knew it tears started flodded her eyes but she tried pushing them back in. So she just sat on the floor , knees touching her chest with her hands folded on them and rested her head on them.

Nina was tired,so tired. She didn't expect any of these things to happen. It all took a rough turn,on a road with bumpy trails. She wishes everything could go back to the way they were.

With all that in her mind, Nina didn't notice that Wei Guang already sat besides her.

"You ready to open up?" He calmly and patiently asked her in slow tone.

Nina sighed and allowed her head to rest on his shoulders and stared at the sunset a little more. Wei Guang of course didn't mind,he didn't want to rush nor did he want her to feel uncomfortable. So he waited.

"I love the sunset and the beautiful full moon. But why is it that they bring more pain than happiness? Why did it have to take such a rough corner? Why me? Especially when I thought things where finally starting to get better."

Tears had already started falling on her cheeks down her chin.

"Why did my parents have to divorce?"

"Uh-ah"

Wei Guang was taken aback by what Nina had just revealed but he chose to stay silent so that he does not end up offending the girl so instead he held her shoulders and stroked her hair. But this only caused Nina to cry even harder. Nina explained everything to Wei Guang.

From the time she snuck out of the house only to receive a call from Ms Wang and next her mother was chased by her father and unexpectedly got divorced. Talking to Wei Guang about this reminded her of what happened on her 14th birthday. Could what had happened then be the reason or trigger the doubt, anger, hatred, the fakeness ,the strictness, the loneliness and misunderstandings. Which ever the reason, Nina suddenly had the determination to find out what had caused this.

"Do you have any idea why they divorced so suddenly?" Wei Guang had to speak calmly and tactfully as to not sadden the girl further.

"No,I was too sad to even ask why they did so"

"So what are you going to do?"

"I'll ask them both privately. If the reasons turn to be too hard to take in I'll embrace it either way. It will be better than being left in suspense."

"I'll be by your side. This time, I promise not to leave you especially now that you need someone to talk to and comfort you. I'm sorry for what happened to you"

"You left me when I turned 14. Next thing I knew everything began crushing"

"I'm really sorry. I didn't want to leave but I just had to".

"Where did you even leave to"

"I left for England"

"Oh,I see"

"And I never did"

Upon hearing what Wei Guang said, Nina looked at him confused. His voice came out low as though he regretted something and as if he didn't want to remember. She could tell that he was debating on whether to tell her or not. Still, curiosity was already built in her mind.

"Why?"

"Not important. Hey, it's getting close to 10pm, let's go now"

***********

That night Nina stared at the ceiling and replayed what had happen and on what Wei Guang said to her just after she dropped her home.

"Please come to school tomorrow"

"Why would I?"

"Cause I'll be there"

After letting herself develop a headache deciding whether to go tomorrow or not,she finally made a decision. She'll attend classes and this time she'll just focus on her education to distract her mind from all this drama. It's okay if nobody helps her, she'll help herself by battling up her feelings. The sudden urge to ask her parents left her mind, she won't get involved not will she care. If they suffer, they suffer alone and not drag her soul into this. She won't need anybody.

"It'll just be me , myself and I"
