Gesalt and Ingvald slowly rode on the Royal Path, days passed by, and after some time, they reached the village of Geehes, right next to the capital of Aleza, which you could see far off in the distance. Geehes was a pretty quiet village, it wasn't anything extravagant or flashy, but it was certainly better than the grass plains and forests that Gesalt and Ingvald had to see for the past 3 weeks.
Ingvald: We'll make a quick stop here to rest, I already spoke with the driver, and he agreed to take a break here too. We'll spend the rest of the day in this village, then, at Midnight, we meet up again, and we leave for Aleza.
Gesalt nodded: Got it, what shall we do then?
Ingvald: Well, I've been in this village many times, I'll meet up with some friends of mine, and I'll get to getting us some food at this local eatery I know of, you just follow me and stick close.
Gesalt nodded. The carriage stopped right at the stables of Geehes, and Ingvald stepped out and looked around. Gesalt followed suit, and they both started to walk in the village, the buildings were a mix of stone and wood, and most of the roads were simple dirt roads, though some of the main roads were paved with stones and gravel, they walked around until Ingvald stopped in-front of a building with a sign on it, the sign read "The Eggscellent", Gesalt thought to himself.
*For real? The Eggscellent? Why make a dumb pun? Whatever, I guess it works.*
Gesalt sighed at the dumb pun, and Ingvald paid it no mind as they entered.
The place was pretty lively, tables and chairs filled the large wooden room, the floor was made of solid oak planks, and it was clean. The man at the counter, a solidly built man looks at Ingvald, and smiles almost instantly.
The man: Eeeey, Ingvald, I haven't seen you in a while, where have you been?
Ingvald smiled and responded: Here and there, took this runt as my apprentice, well, I'm about to anyway, it's Maren's kid.
The man had a surprised expression: It's Maren's kid? That guy actually got lai- ehem, that guy actually had a kid?
Ingvald: Yes, yes he had a child, c'mon, introduce yourself.
Gesalt turned to the man at the counter: My name is Gesalt Asardo, I come from the village of Ceresa.
The man: My name is Wizefh Miketch, I've known your father since he was about your age, never expected that guy to have a kid, still, Ceresa? That's pretty far from here, how's your dad doing?
Gesalt: He's doing okay, he works as a graveyard keeper at the local church.
Wizef: Grave keep? Well, I guess if it pays the bills, that's no issue.
Ingvald: Well, we're not here to discuss that, we are here to eat, so give us the house special, and put it on my tab.
Wizef nodded, and went into the kitchen for a bit, Ingvald and Gesalt took an empty table, and sat down.
Gesalt: So who is this man?
Ingvald: Oh, Wizef used to be the teacher here about, 10 years ago, back when me and Maren were just kids, actually, Maren is from this village, y'know? He moved into Ceresa because your mother is from there.
Gesalt: Oh, I see, why did Wizef stop being a teacher?
Ingvald: Beats me, I guess he wanted a change of pace, now he owns this shop and manages it, cooks all the food too.
Wizef comes to their table, holding 2 plates filled with all sorts of meats, the number was a bit ridiculous even.
Wizef: This is today's house special, the Super Meat Mountain, if this doesn't fill you up, buddy, I'm sorry, but nothing will, haha!
Wizef sets the plates on the table, and puts down some cutlery, and glasses of water for the both of them.
Gesalt looked at the plates astonished, who can even eat so much meat? If he were to measure the height, the meat would be half his size! Meanwhile, Ingvald started to dig in like no tomorrow, no wonder he can eat so much, after all, he's clearly a regular here.
They both did their best to eat, but Gesalt simply couldn't, meanwhile, Ingvald not only finished the plate, but he even ordered seconds! Gesalt looked... well, amazed isn't really the right word, more like, disgusted but also intrigued as how Ingvald was able to just eat so much, especially since Gesalt barely got to half the plate.
Gesalt: How.... how do you eat so much?
Ingvald looked up, his mouth full to the brim. In a logic and biologic defying move, he swallowed up everything he had in his mouth in one gulp, without even drinking water, Gesalt looked stupified by this.
Ingvald: I donno, I guess I'm just hungry.
Gesalt just looked at him with his mouth hanging open, he simply couldn't believe what he's witnessing, just how HUNGRY was Ingvald?
Gesalt: You know... uh... you can have my plate too, I am not that hungry.
Ingvald: Thanks.
He almost instantly took the plate, and pushed what was on that plate onto his, and went back to eating like nothing happened, Gesalt was left speechless.
An hour passes, and 5 plates later, finally, Ingvald seems to have stopped. He chugs down 3 tankards of water, yes, WATER, and the calls over Wizef to take the plates.
Wizef: Ah, Ingvald, I swear, you'd bankrupt me were it not for the fact that you make so much money as a Senser.
Ingvald chuckled: Heh, you know it. Well, just put this on my tab, I'll have one of my guys bring you the gold later.
Wizef nodded and took all the plates, cutlery, cups and the 3 odd tankards.
Gesalt was still very much speechless, so much so that he simply said nothing as they left the restaurant, and headed to the Stables to leave, as it was getting close to the evening, they spent a total of 2 hours at the restaurant. The first hour, they spoke about the town as Ingvald ate slowly, and the 2nd hour, Ingvald stopped talking, and got to eating plate after plate.
They reached the stables, and entered the Carriage, where the driver was sleeping at the helm, unbothered. After some time, midnight arrived, and the Driver woke up, after that, he woke up the horses, and started to ride towards Aleza, based on the distance, and the road, they would arrive at the entrance of Aleza at the crack of dawn, around 6 in the morning.
