2 Years have passed since Gesalt has become Ingvald's apprentice, and a lot has changed, not only physically, but magically too, Gesalt grew fast as Ingvald's methods for training not only were extreme, but they were effective too, Gesalt started with 5 pretty simple spells, and now his empty Grimoire was already a quarter of the way full with actually good spells, many of them were focusing on Gesalt's 3 affinities, he had a plethora of healing spells, fire spells and curse spells.
Spending 2 years in the capital also changed Gesalt personality wise, he became more eloquent in his speech, and he became more polite to fit the environment, however, oddly enough, in these 2 years, he had only seen one other Senser aside from Ingvald, and it was only for a brief moment, he had asked Ingvald about it, but he simply said that the other Sensers don't spent time at the HQ as all of them do work in other parts of the country to keep the peace and to prepare for the Reckoning.
Gesalt has also learned about the Reckoning in this time, this year, Ingvald or one of the other Sensers will find out where the portals to the Demon Realm will show up, and preparation for fortification will start, Gesalt will need to help out too, mostly with physical labor, not with the fighting, as strong as Gesalt has gotten, Ingvald needed to fulfill his promise to Sene and Maren, meaning that he couldn't let Gesalt fight any time soon.
It was a cold morning, Gesalt was already in the training room that the Sensers have in their HQ, it was a pretty simple room, it had targets of all kind to shoot, heal, curse, burn, freeze and so on, perfect to try out abilities or to simply just practice, the walls, floors and ceiling were also coated in a strong lacquer made of a rare material that disperses magic, meaning that you couldn't destroy the room with magic, even without the lacquer, the room was made of hard stone, so it wouldn't be that easy either. Gesalt was currently practicing a new spell he had recently learned called Three Way Blitz, what the spell did was summon 3 fire balls that surround the target, two at the sides of the target, and one at the back, the only way to escape is to go forward, where Gesalt would then activate one of his curse spells, called Stone, which depending on how much magic you have, you are turned to stone, or slowed down to a crawl, forcting you to take the hit from the Three Way Blitz, it was hard to do all of this at once, but he practiced anyway.
Ingvald finally walked into the room, he was a bit tired as the previous night he had to do join the Conference of Reckoning with the other Sensers, as in one year from today, the Reckoning happens. He yawns, and looks at Gesalt.
Ingvald: You still practicing that move? Why not try something else, you've been trying that one for a week now.
Gesalt: I know, but, I feel that I'm really close to doing it, a few more tries, I'd give it, 8 or 9, and I'll have it figured out.
Ingvald shrugged: Suit yourself then, I'll join up later, I need to get me some coffee, I'm off to Verenia's, see you in an hour.
Gesalt nodded: See you, master.
Ingvald left to get himself some coffee from a pretty trendy and popular shop, called Verenia's Tearoom, while Gesalt kept practicing, he had one spell in mind he wanted to practice as soon as he was done with the Three Way Blitz, he remembered years ago when he had his first Grimoire, there was a spell he wanted to try, the Dragon Shot, the spell was a fire affinity spell, meaning that learning it wouldn't be hard, what would be hard is using it due to the energy consumption.
Gesalt, again and again used the Three Way Blitz, each time, it failed in some way, either the fire balls were too small, they appeared too late, or they were misaligned, yet, after 8 more tries, he finally got it right. Gesalt was ecstatic, but he couldn't stop now, he had to do it a few more times to make sure it's done well, and that's what he did. Luckily for him, the spell worked flawlessly, ending his practice of that spell after a grueling week.
Gesalt quickly ran to his room, and dug up his first Grimoire, now a thick coat of dust was on it, as he had changed Grimoires many times to learn for his affinity, while his first Grimoire was a general Grimoire suited for beginners. He flipped around the pages until he finally found the Dragon Shot, the spell was pretty complicated, it required him to constantly flip the poles of his magic until it had the form of a wavelength, then he had to shoot his magic at something, which supposedly would shoot fire at the same strength to that of a Dragon. Flipping the poles of his magic was already pretty hard, the poles of his magic also affected his concentration and strength, however it was worth a shot. He ripped the page for the spell, and took it to the training room, and started to practice.
In the meanwhile, Ingvald was still drinking coffee, he decided to just take some home and leave already as it was already noon, he went home and he heard loud noises, he ran to the training room.
Ingvald: Gesalt! You okay? What happened?
Gesalt was covered in scratches and smoke.
Gesalt: I tried a spell that I wanted to do for a while, but it's damn hard. If you want to know, its the Dragon Shot.
Ingvald:... The Dragon Shot? Why are you trying to learn that? You have better spells than that.
Gesalt: It's just a goal I had when I started to learn magic, I said to myself that I'll get strong enough to do it, so I'm giving it a try, especially since I'm strong enough now.
Ingvald sighed: Whatever, just be careful, that spell is known to be unruly and hard to deal with, make sure you don't hurt yourself too bad, okay?
Gesalt nodded: Yes sir.
Ingvald left the training room, and Gesalt continued training, trying to get the spell working.
