I had no idea. In almost everything here in the land of man, there are a lot of things that i couldn't understand or recognize. Either be it in words, things, and function. Clueless at almost about everything.
"So you're saying you wanted to enroll to a school?"
The cautious officer questioned me with confusion. Answering him by nodding even though i had no idea of what enroll and school is about. But with enough clues, i can deduce that school is an academy and enroll is the condition to go there. The cautious officer then took a heavy breathing before speaking.
"Okay, okay. But still... Didn't the school year already started last week ago?"
He asked. Taking a glance at the loud officer.
"Yeah, it already started so i don't think he can be able to enroll to a school."
The two man heaved a troubled sigh before continuing.
"Well there's an exception."
The cautious man uttered, pondering for a moment. Tilting my head in confusion, he continued off with his words.
"If you're good enough, you can attend to the most prestigious school ever. If you took their test and passed then you can attend there."
"Now that i think about it. Renhe, buddy. You have
0.2m³ in base mana, and i think that's enough qualifications for you to attend there."
The loud officer stated, nodding his head off before continuing.
"Your base statistics was also on the high end to the most part. With this i think you can actually enroll to that prestigious school."
"Is it? Is my 0.2m³ base mana really that massive? To my opinion i think it's pretty low."
"Yeah boy. Having 0.2m³ for a base mana is a blessing. To compare it, the average base mana here is 0.07m³. You probably don't understand but 0.2m³ mana is comparable to 200 liters of water."
"Wait, really? 200 seems like a lot."
Whether it's true or not. But to think that i have a mana even as a demon was quite untold. Us demons use Infernal reservoir as a source of power than mana, and i was powerful enough to deminish and conceal it to the point that you don't see or feel it anymore. Making me resemble that of an ordinary person.
We stood there in the side of the police station entryway as we talked to each other. The two officers looked at each other then nodded at the same time before looking at me. Then the cautious man stated.
"Alright, we'll help you enroll"
"I am grateful."
I said in satisfaction as I bowed to them. Then after enough time has passed. The loud officer then bid his farewell.
"Well it's already night time, so i need to go now. I still have a family to feed."
"Yeah me too. I need to cool my head off."
"Oh yeah, it's understandable. Then should we meet here tomorrow?"
"Yeah, yeah. Let's do that. Wait hold on, Renhe. Do you have a place to stay?"
Asked the cautious man in concert. I shook my head before answering him.
"Don't worry about it, i have something in mind where i can stay. But before that."
After muttering out the world "open." A pale blue window then appeared of infront of me. Pressing the 'main menu' Then the 'friends' and after meddling with it for sometime. A window has also appeared from both them. With the following word.
[Friend request. Pending...]
[Renhe Lancefellow]
[Accept] [Decline]
Upon looking for a moment, they then pressed the accept button popping up another window infront of me.
[Notice]
[Thomas Yormurghand]
[Friend Request accepted]

[Lucas Phidelphin]
[Friend Request accepted]
Thomas Yormurghand and Lucas Phidelphin. The cautious officer was Lucas and the loud officer was Thomas. I had finally known their name for over an hours of talking to them.
"Alright then, Renhe were gonna go now. We'll meet here in the morning okay? I'll contact you if i arrived."
Nodding at Thomas, they both then goes inside of a car and rode off away from here leaving me alone in the side of the police station entryway not knowing what school they are talking about or what mana is.
I couldn't get the timing to ask them. No, i just didn't asked them. As myself, i am not the type to bombard a lot of questions to an individual that I'm talking to. Rather i was used to listen and only meddle for the conversation to continue.
After all. My retainer usually explain everything from the get go. Making me get used to this type of talk and in only rare occasions such as when i asked why i couldn't leave the Abyss is when i bombard her with questions.
After looking around the place at sometime. I headed inside the police station. Inside was other officers, the same rank as Thomas and Lucas. Another one was a girl. She was inside the counter. Her name was Yeli, a brownish short hair, and relatively the same height of that an average girl, she wore the same clothing as the two officers, conveying that she was the same as them.
The reason i knew her name was because Thomas stated her name before talking to her when i first arrived here hours ago. After noticing me walking up towards her, she greeted me.
"Good day uh.. Renhe isn't it?"
"Yes it is, good day Yeli. Is it possible to make a simple request?"
"Yes! You're a guess here because of sir Thomas and sir Lucas after all. What do you want?"
"Well uh.. Can i take a look at the prisoner here? Even if it's just for a moment?"
"Eh."
The cheerful girl tilted her head at my request before answering.
"Uhh sure thing, please follow me."
Yeli then stood up from her chair, she then got out of the counter before starting to look at me. Inciting me to follow her, i moved forward towards her, following her lead.
We came upon a door as we walked together. Opening it, inside was a cell. A dark and dimly lit place. Iron bars acting as a wall and a door. There, inside these privateless rooms we're prisoners. They started to stare at us as we came. Bruised, muscular, tattooed, with piercings in their body.
As they looked at us with hostility. I took a heavy breathing, inhaling which took 3 seconds to finish. Then exhaling for a short moment. After that, i quickly glanced at Yeli.
"Thank you Yeli. I'll leave now then."
"Eh. Is that it? Uh. Oh okay then."

After setting off his farewell to Yeli, Renhe then headed off towards the exit of the police station. Leaving the place. Darkness entangled his vision. Lamp post and the light inside the station was his only support to not be swallowed by the darkness.
Yet he walked. Away, away from light. Giving up the light, he walked away from it. His footsteps panned the sounds of everything. The footsteps of the other people walking through the busy streets, engines clattering around everywhere giving off a vast amount of noise. Yet it became weaker.
Renhe's footsteps was heard. Causing every noise other than his to subtle down as if the world was solely focused on him, ignoring everyone in the world.
At time passes, he arrived at the slum where there was no light. Burrowing himself more to the slum, it became more and more uncharted. Crickets everywhere took refugees, rats swarmed from place to place. Collapsing, broken, and rundown buildings took over the scenery of the bustling city. One thing is certain. There was no signs of human life there.
"Let's end the day here."
Renhe muttered. Then flames, flames roamed around him as he walked, circling him. It was no ordinary flame. The fire didn't shine. Rather it was dyed in pure vermillion only giving of a speck of light. The flames circling around him like a wave neither burned the surrounding nor him. It's density was apparent, it moved as if it was a pool of blood.
As Renhe continued his march, the flames fully surrounded him. Swallowing Renhe completely to the point of where you couldn't see him. The flames then stopped. Stopping it's movement as if the time was stopped. It's hue became darker and darker to the point it became completely pitch black. It then was swept away by the wind, completely crumbling like an ash, leaving with nothing.

A new day it is. As Thomas said, we'd meet here in the side of the entryway in the police station this day. Helping me to attend to an academy. Ending the day yesterday, i returned to my place trying to look for my retainer. But to no avail she wasn't there.
After sometime waiting here, the two came out of the exit in the police station. I asked.
"Is it done?"
"Yup, we finally got permission to take a break this day. Let's head out now then."
Thomas answered as he stretched his arms out. Followed by his side was Lucas drinking water from a cylindrical solid plastic. The three of us then headed inside a car. We rode away from the police station.
"Renhe. Do you still have your citizenship card right? And do you also have a birth certificate even if it's just a copy?"
"Don't worry about it, i have it all in stored."
Answering the questions Lucas asked, he nodded. Then payed his attention to the road as Thomas maneuvered the car. Looking from the side of the car, there i saw the looming tower once again, as it still emitting energy everywhere without a stop. Heeding no mind of it, i asked.
"What is this school you're talking about?"
"Oh, now that i think about it, i haven't talked about it to you yet."
Lucas replied before continuing.
"The school we're about to enroll you with was one of the most important place in this empire by far. The Orion Heavenhold University. The most largest educational institution in this world. Founded by the royal family, it is one of the most knowledgeable place second only to the library of Auras Apoleon."
Lucas took a break before continuing.
"It teaches almost everything. From magic casting, to sword combat, martial arts, marksmanship, mathematics, theology, politics, science engineering, spatial engineering and more. Which wasn't even half of it."
"Ohh, i see."
"Once you partake to the test for you to be able to get there. They will test you in everything and with that, whether you pass or not was up to you. If you passed, they will take you to a column you're good at, with that you will also be categorized under a certain subject. So good luck ok?"
"Thank you, although it is making me uneasy. Is it difficult to pass the test?"
"It is. Based on a statistic last week ago, the passing grades in the Orion Heavenhold University was a merely 12.4%. but with that, students here this school year was roughly estimated to be over 3000."
He answered. Which made me think to myself.
'should i cheat? Or should i just manipulate the results?'
Having the thoughts for the most part. Thomas who was silently maneuvering the car suddenly spoke.
"Ha ha ha, i know you'll pass. If there's one something that you're really good at, you can then pass the test, i'm sure if it. My daughter passed that exam even though she used to be a shut in."
Reassuring me, Thomas laughed as if he was trying to recollect the good old days. After some enough time he said.
"We're here."
Hearing his statement, i immediately peeked out of the car window. Outside was rather underwhelming. It was nothing but a road. In the middle of a beach. We suddenly stopped and Thomas opened the side of his car window. Then someone outside uttered.
"Please state your business."
"Were here to apply for a test."
Thomas answered the person. He was in a container and the one who stopped us by blocking our path with a long flat iron board blocking the car horizontally. After Thomas pressed his hands in an iron tablet that's closely resembling a verification. The flat board blocking us rose above, allowing us to advance once more.
Passing the checkpoint we once again took a straight path. With only a long road ahead in the middle of the ocean. After given enough time we finally saw something. A gate. Just a gate, it didn't have anything after that. There was nothing behind it.
Yet upon opening itself, i saw. After we entered, the ocean that was surrounding the gate disappeared as if it was nothing there. A vast land then appeared after. Land looming along the horizon. Structures made of stone appeared one by one. People in the same clothing walked around almost everywhere. Tall buildings layer by layer appeared. We finally arrived.
To the Orion Heavenhold University.
