Chapter 2 - Chapter 2 | A Dream?

A feeling of warmth caressed the edges of my body, from head to toe. Faint light that touched the skin that I wore, and that very same light attacked my eyes. It was a blinding light. An intense bright light that shone over me.

Huh? Was that a dream? Where am I? Two large figures towered over me, who are they? Matter of fact, who was I?

Before I could even react, my nose was physically attacked! My mobility was limited, unable to force my head to look away, it led me to continue facing whoever these giants were. It looked like I was unable to understand whatever they were saying. The only thing I was able to understand was my thoughts.

"AGH AGUH AGAH" My voice was like a dissonant chord that struck in an irritating way.

The man persisted on enunciating these two syllables, which slowly allowed me to understand that he was trying to say 'Dada'. So that was my Dad and that's my mother I guess, in which I turned my eyes to the woman beside my presumed 'Dad'.

My presumed mother, with beautiful, dark purple, curly hair that seemed to go down to her shoulders. Gleaming, blue eyes just like sapphires. Lips that were a light pink, and a My mother's face was also rather small, with features that complimented her face.

On the other hand, my presumed father, with short, dark red hair, and a split middle part. His eyes were also a red ginger-like colour though lighter than his hair. Broad shoulders and seemed to be rather tall. Albeit, it may have been my distorted perception because of how small I was. His face also had a distinctive feature which was a scar that went over his lip on the right side of his face.

I was unable to pronounce Mama or Dada because I was incapable of using my own mouth, making me say nothing but incoherent sounds. Which I found extremely difficult. I had failed at my very first task as a baby, how pitiful. I presumed that the 'dream' I had was most likely my past life, as my thoughts were probably that much more complex than an actual baby's thoughts. Despite that, I had no recollection of what had happened before my '30th birthday'.

After several minutes of me trying to pronounce either word, the more I tried, the more tired I became. There wasn't much luck with me trying, which led to me slowly closing my eyes. The very next day, I was pumped!

Several minutes of me trying to pronounce either word swiftly passed. I quickly realized that I had absolutely no control over my mouth, as well as the fact that I was getting tired very quickly. There wasn't much luck with me trying, which led to me slowly closing my eyes.

The very next day, I was pumped! Or so I thought, even after sleeping till noon, my body still felt incredibly fatigued and I was barely able to keep my eyes from shutting down. The only thing that I saw was the glossy ceiling that was a pattern of colours, with its primary colours of white and gold.

Months went by, and my daily routine was being picked up by my Dad first, and then being carried by my Mom next, where I would attempt to pronounce either of the two words that I was tasked with.. Of course, I still failed. Afterwards I would be placed in my cradle by 3 maids who took care of me every day.

I could tell that everyone within the household were good people, well... Being trapped within this 1 by 1 meter prison, I didn't really have anything else to do besides, look at the ceiling and wait to play with my parents or wait for the maids, which was my only reasoning for why I thought that.

You'd expect that since I had retained my inner monologue as well as some knowledge from my 'past life', if it even was my past life, I'd be more of an expert at controlling my ligaments and joints, but no, it was quite the opposite. It seemed that my body didn't learn the muscle memory to actually move my body even though I 'knew' it myself.

While asleep, the exact same memory or dream continues to play within my mind. The sword stabbed into 'my' heart feels real enough that I continue to experience the excruciating pain that it induces in my heart. I don't actually know if that was me or not, nonetheless, it continues to ache repeatedly in the morning.

I know that the 'me' in the dream had two best friends, Weiss and Zenith. That 'I' had turned 30, I was a Queen, I had supernatural powers to be called one of the strongest, and 'my' name was Yuralis. Of course, the thing I remember most is the betrayal from Weiss who stabbed 'me' directly in the heart. Nothing much else after that or before that even.

Around 7 months after my birth, I was finally able to crawl! Albeit I could only crawl a few feet before feeling like my entire body was about to shut down, it was still progress! My parents continued to pick me up whenever they had time, I also slowly became accustomed to the language of this world. Despite that, I still couldn't talk yet. I had learned that my father was an adventurer, while my mother stayed at home to take care of politics and work-related duties.

My name was 'Ophelia Rhin'. My Mother's name being Cyrielle Rhin, age 25, and my Father's name being Flynn Rhin, being a year older than my mother.

The many maids mostly took care of us; with Dad staying home every few weeks. From a few days ago, from my parent's conversation of what I was going to 'awaken' into, I inferred that in this world, they also had supernatural powers just like my previous life.

Around 9 months after my birth, I was finally able to say my first word. 'Mama', though I could've easily said 'Dada' first but deliberately didn't, I knew my Dad probably would've had a funnier reaction than my Mom, which led to my mother having a weird expression plastered over her face.

One of the maids took care of me while my parents were slowly becoming busy overtime. Every other day, my mother would take the time to teach me the language of this world. But, it was mostly the maids who did all the work. Of course, I was able to retain information much more efficiently because my brain was more advanced than my body. Allowing me to easily learn the language at a rapid rate.

My bodily functions however.. Could not keep up.
