Flynn had stated the obvious, of course she'd have my traits! Wait, that's not the issue here, first a name! Of course she'll be called-
"Ophelia. That's going to be your name from now on, my little Moon."
I gently rubbed her nose a little from side to side, though it did seem to get the wrong reaction..
"AGH AGUH AGAH"
"Can you say da-da? Da-da DAAA-DA?" Flynn chimed in, before I followed after. It looked like he was trying to steal Ophelia's first word!
"How about mama? Mama mama?"
When I told you that my little baby girl was THE cutest baby in the entire world, you wouldn't believe me. Just because I gave birth to her doesn't mean I'm biased. Before all this happened, Flynn and I both were thinking very hard about names to give to our baby, he had some good ideas..
Though I shut them all down because of personal preference, and mine were better. If it was a boy, I would've personally named him Kaladin if they had red hair just like his father, personally one of my favourites. If my baby boy had my hair I would've named him Einar.
Now since she was a girl, I named her Ophelia. She inherited my blue sapphire-like eyes as well as my dark purple hair, which was amazing! She needed to get all the good traits of course, how else would she get a husband or wife, I don't discriminate. Though after the first few days after giving birth to Ophelia, I had noticed she had never wailed at all.
I had been told that babies would be a nightmare, mostly because of how tough it was to stop them from crying, but my baby Ophelia had never done so at all. I felt like she was already maturing which made me shed a tear within my study room..
The only thing that seemed normal was that she wasn't able to speak, or control her bladder which made me slightly happy that I still could do my job as a mother. I usually played around with her whenever she was awake, doing all the daily necessities of what a mother should be doing.
Whenever I went to visit my cute baby Ophelia, she'd always look so excited and happy to see me, flailing her little tiny hands around, it made me so happy to see her do that.
It took around 7 months for Ophelia to crawl and 9 months to say her very first word, 'Mama'. You don't know how HAPPY I felt when she said that, especially since Flynn was right next to Ophelia when she said that. He looked like he was about to break down from losing the bet made a few months prior to Ophelia's birth.
One time while I was carrying Ophelia back to her cradle, Flynn and I, well mostly Flynn was talking about what she would awaken into, and suddenly she just suddenly became excited and pissed herself! It was kinda adorable, surprising, confusing, and scary at how she coincidentally became excited from those words. I don't know if she knew what Flynn was saying but I brushed it off.
As time flew past, I neglected my work and the maids suggested that I should focus on it more. I was the daughter of a low of the lowest-noble, housed in a place far from the kingdom. After many years, I wouldn't doubt that the king had even forgotten that my family existed. I didn't want to agree to the maid's suggestion, however, it was true that I hadn't completed several weeks of work.
All I hope for the future is that Ophelia could live a happy life.
Oh boy.. When Ophelia was able to crawl, I thought she was a prodigy! I remember when I first started crawling my mother said it was when I was 10 months old! So it was obvious I'd think that, but nooo.. Apparently not. I guess I was just a late-bloomer, heh. I'd say that I became pretty successful in my life recently.
I've got a beautiful wife, I'm an A-rank adventurer, which is quite high on the rankings. Z, however, are the strongest people in the entire continent! With only 4 people registered to be at that level.
S is the next below that, with those being extremely strong as well but said to be several times weaker than Z ranks. AA, is the next rank, A-D and E as the lowest. Each rank is considered to be multiple times stronger than the one below it. I don't understand how people can attain that level of strength..
Back to my rambling! I'm the son of a commoner and my wife is that of a noble, I'm pretty hot if I do say so myself, I've got myself a party, and now I've got myself a baby girl! Though I wasn't able to name the girl, I'd say Ophelia was a pretty good name, not as good as my own suggestions but still pretty good.
Now when I tell you, I was both happy and depressed when Ophelia said her first word, I mean it. How do you feel both at the same time? I thought that was impossible till I felt it at that Moment. Honestly, even at that Moment, I swear I saw Ophelia looking at me as if she deliberately did it on purpose..
No way right? She probably just wondered why the coolest Dad in the world dropped down to the floor sobbing.. Cyrielle of course, had the biggest grin all over her face, even without her saying it directly I knew what she was saying, 'I win'.
Now don't get me wrong, I love when my wife wins her battles, but this? Nonono, I SHOULD'VE WON, ME. NOT HER! I think they were conspiring against me, Ophelia probably said Dada before mama but she's keeping quiet.. That's right.. I'm not delusional I swear!
Days after that had happened, the maids helped Ophelia learn the alphabet, it didn't take her long to learn it, which was a surprise. Maybe she really was a genius? Sometimes I'd see my baby girl looking by the door to watch me train. Maybe I could convince her to train and become an adventurer just like me! NO, I can't do that.. She must be kept safe.. She has to know who the coolest Dad is!
Other than that, oftentimes Cyrielle would have to carry Ophelia back to her cradle because she continues to read books. Though I don't really understand the curiosity Ophelia would have, it didn't seem like it'd be much fun without the picture books about knights slaying dragons..
