Chapter 2 - Rewinding the Clock

As Rishab struggled to make sense of his surroundings, he wondered, "Wait, was this supposed to be a dream of countless years? Or did I really get another chance after all that has really happened?" His heart skipped a beat with excitement as he took in the familiar surroundings of his one-bedroom studio apartment.

Rishab gazed at his familiar old cellphone and at the year mentioned, memories came flooding back. Being transported back in time to his twentieth year, on the verge of adulthood, felt like he has been given another chance to redeem his life and not repeat the same mistakes again.

Rishab's thoughts raced as he attempted to comprehend the situation he was in. He reflected on his past life, the errors he had made, and the chances he had lost. He took into account the scandals, the gossip, and the suffering he had brought upon others.

However, he noticed a world full of opportunities as he looked around. He saw an opportunity for self-repair, atonement, and fresh beginnings. Rishab's thoughts clouded with questions and doubts, but one thing was certain - he was determined to make changes and live his second life without any regrets. Any chance given to him would not be forsaken for he would not get another second chance to condone his mistakes again.

With a sense of determination and purpose, Rishab took his first step into this new reality.

Getting up from his bed with an immense pain in his head, he held his head in discomfort, clutching his temples as if trying to physically contain the throbbing ache. The room spun around him, a blurry haze of colors and shapes that refused to solidify.

It was at this time he remembered a similar pain he had experienced in his previous life when he was blacklisted from his family. He suddenly lost all the love from his family but still was stubborn in not returning back to them and living the life that he was predestined for.

Stumbling from the bed, he went to the washroom. As he gazed into the mirror, Rishab's eyes widened in wonder. The reflection staring back at him was that of a young man, full of vitality and promise. The lines of time, the weight of his past mistakes, were nowhere to be seen. He looked at his bright, inquisitive eyes, his strong jawline, and his messy hair, and a surge of energy and excitement coursed through his veins.

He couldn't believe it - he was young again, with his whole life ahead of him. The possibilities seemed endless, and Rishab felt like he could take on the world.

With a newfound sense of purpose and enthusiasm, Rishab splashed some water on his face, feeling the cool liquid revive him. He took a deep breath, and his young self smiled back at him, ready to take on whatever lay ahead.

Getting ready to go out and breathe in the fresh air, Rishab wore an ivory sweater over his white t-shirt and brown trousers. Pairing it up with the white sneakers and a classic wristwatch, which perfectly described his features and youthful look.

Walking casually around his surroundings, reliving everything once again, memories flooding his mind. His leisurely walk led him to a billboard that caught his eye - a larger-than-life advertisement featuring the current movie king, the very same icon who had once inspired him to chase his dreams and reach the pinnacle of success.

Rishab's gaze lingered on the billboard, a mix of emotions swirling inside him and a hint of strong determination to speed up the things in his current life. This time he wasn't content to simply reclaim his former glory as a movie king; he was driven to create a long lasting impact.

Rishab envisioned a future where he wouldn't just bask in the spotlight, but also encourage the budding artists to pursue their passions in the arts, a field often overlooked in his country. With unwavering determination, he vowed to forge a path that would not only revive his own legacy but also illuminate the way for others to follow their dreams.

As Rishab walked, he noticed an elderly lady sitting on a bench, watching him with a warm smile. He felt drawn to her gentle gaze and decided to approach her.

"Beautiful day, isn't it?" he said, trying to sound casual.

The old lady looked up at him, her eyes twinkling. "Oh, yes! It's lovely. What brings you out here today?"

Rishab smiled at her, she was pleasant to talk to although she was a complete stranger. But there was something about her kind face that put him at ease. "I'm just reliving some old memories," he said, gesturing to the surrounding buildings. "I used to live around here."

The old lady nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Well, it's nice to revisit the past sometimes. But don't forget to live in the present, too."

Rishab smiled wryly. "I'm trying to make the most of the chances given to me. Life is uncertain and we have to grab all the opportunities thrown at us." he said, feeling a sense of vulnerability.

The old lady's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "You are still a young little kid, what kind of chances have you missed in this short span?"

Rishab took a deep breath, unsure how much to share. But something about her gentle demeanor put him at ease. "It's a long story," he began, "but I've been given another opportunity to make things right."

The old lady listened intently, her expression filled with empathy. When Rishab finished speaking, she nodded thoughtfully. "Well, I wish you all the best, young man. Make the most of it!"

Rishab felt a surge of gratitude towards this stranger, who had listened to him with such kindness. "Thank you," he said, smiling. "I will."

As Rishab struck up a conversation with the old lady, he was struck by a sudden realization - it had been an eternity since he'd last engaged in a casual chat with someone. The simple act of exchanging pleasantries and sharing stories with a stranger brought home the stark truth: his previous life had become a desolate landscape of isolation.

Rishab felt hope for the first time in years as he bid the old lady farewell. He continued his walk, lost in thought, until he arrived at the cinema hall where his career as an actor began in his previous life. The faded sign creaked in the gentle breeze, filling Rishab's heart with nostalgia. He pushed open the creaky door, and the familiar scent of popcorn and dreams enveloped him.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows - a woman with piercing green eyes and long, curly hair. "Rishab?" she whispered, her voice trembling. "Is that really you?" Rishab's heart skipped a beat as he struggled to place her. And then, like a bolt of lightning, it hit him - this was the one person he thought he'd never see again, the one person who could shatter his newfound peace.
