Chapter 8 - Reclaiming the Legacy

Rishab's father, Raj, looked at him with a mix of surprise and concern. "I had no idea, Rishab. I trusted Mr. Jain with my life. He's been with me for years."

Rishab's grandfather, Mr. Ram Mehta, nodded in agreement. "We all trusted him, Raj. But it seems we were wrong. We need to be careful now. We don't know who else might be involved."

Rishab's mind was racing with thoughts and questions. He couldn't believe that his own family members had been betrayed by people they trusted. He looked at his father and grandfather with determination in his eyes.

"We need to take action, Father. We can't just sit back and let them get away with this. We need to expose them and reclaim our family's legacy."

Raj Mehta nodded, a firm look on his face. "You're right, Rishab. We need to take action. But we need to be careful. We don't know what we're up against."

Mr. Ram Mehta stood up, his eyes blazing with determination. "We'll get to the bottom of this, Rishab. We'll find out who's involved and we'll make them pay. Our family's legacy is at stake."

Rishab felt a surge of pride and determination. He knew that he had to do this, not just for his family, but for himself. He was ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that his family was behind him.

"Let's do it," Rishab said, his voice firm and resolute. "Let's take back our family's legacy and show them that we won't be betrayed. But we have to be very careful to not let the traitors alert the branch family."

Both his father and grandfather looked at Rishab who was so involved in solving the crisis that their family is facing and their hearts are filled with pride.

"But we have to plan carefully and not alert the enemy. For now I will be acting from behind the scenes and carry-on my current lifestyle and attending the university. I have to at least graduate before taking up any full-time work for the party." said Rishab

Although his grandfather and father hesitated a little, after nodding at each other, they looked at Rishab and with a smile Mr. Ram Mehta said " Although we are against the idea of you going into the entertainment sector, currently that is the only option to maintain status-quo. While we find out the enemies, you can peacefully enjoy your time in the entertainment industry".

Rishab had never expected even once that his family would allow him to be in the entertainment industry but he was completely wrong from the beginning. He has to prove to them that he can handle the politics well when given a chance.

He is now strongly determined to excel in both the fields. He promised his family " Grandfather, Father, Mother, although I might be a little rebellious earlier in the past few years, I am willing to take the responsibility of the family as the only heir. But my identity would remain hidden even in the future until and unless it is necessary for me to step in personally."

The family of four discussed how to handle the things carefully and would take one step at a time to avoid being caught by the wrong doers.

It was almost time to sleep when the discussions ended and Rishab was asked to stay at home for the night. Rishab obliged them as it was quite late to travel back to his condo.

Rishab walked through the familiar hallways brightly lit with warm colors where he had grown up in, each room bringing up to mind the memories of his childhood. He finally reached his room, a place that had been his own once, and sat down on the edge of the bed. The soft hum of the house settling for the night was a comforting backdrop to his thoughts.

Looking around, Rishab felt a wave of nostalgia. The old furniture and the faint lavender scent of his grandmother's scented candle reminded him of simpler times. He had not slept here in years, and now that he was back under such tense circumstances, the weight of his responsibility seemed heavier than ever.

He remembered the conversations with his father and grandfather. There were many surprises, attention, and finally the acceptance of his plan to continue in the entertainment industry. It was clear that they had reservations, but they trusted him to at least temporarily follow this path. This unexpected recognition came as a shock to him but it also strengthened his resolve to prove himself.

Rishabh leaned back in bed and stared at the ceiling. The determination he had felt during the meeting was still there, but it was now taken on a deeper sense of responsibility. He knew it would be difficult to navigate the complexities of his academic life and his family's covert operations. But his family's support gave him new meaning to his life. He was ready to embrace both worlds: juggling his public persona in the entertainment industry while secretly working to reclaim his family's legacy.

Closing his eyes, he thought back to the evening's conversations. There was something deeply reassuring about reuniting with his family, discussing their shared goals, and planning their next steps together.

For the first time in a long time, he felt a true connection to his parents and grandfather, a connection that had been strained by time and distance. Rishabh knew the road ahead was full of pitfalls and the need for secrecy was the most important.

The stakes are high and the safety of his family would be his main focus. But he also knew that he wasn't alone in this fight. His family was behind him, and that gave him a sense of strength and resolve he had not felt before.

With these ideas, they went around his head, and Rishab fell asleep. The night was quiet, and for the first time in a few weeks he felt the world is in his grip. He knew that in the morning he would have to face new challenges that awaited him with utmost focus, but for now he allowed himself to rest, embraced by the familiar comfort of home and the quiet promise of a new beginning.
