The group walked in greeted by the store clerk. "Welcome to my antique shop. Look around for something that catches your eye. Also if ya break it you buy it."
The group then wandered around for a good bit until something caught the eye of Ramen. He saw an odd statue almost hidden in a corner. "Excuse me sir, how much for this one?" Ramen then touched the statue a bit before the clerk came.
"Well I'm gonna be honest, that thing has almost no use to me. I got it from some northern tribe but I never got it to be of any importance. It is made of a common limestone, has no historic value and any water bender who comes to see it also says it has no significant cultural aspects. If you find value in it, I'll let you have it."
Ramen of course a bit hesitant on having to walk around with a 100 pound statue, was almost backed away. But Terrance suggested using water bending in it. Ramen observed the oddly shaped statue. It looked like a Japanese Oni but with a water tribe look to it. It held out its arms, a scroll shaped object in its hand and the other empty.
Slowly taking out his bottle of water, he used his water bending to traverse the statue. As he did, a small glow came from the statue. Slowly, its hands opened.
With little to no hesitation, Ramen grabbed the scroll and read it. As he read the words off the scroll, it vanished. Each word read was as if a revelation was told to him. After reading the entire scroll, he officially learned how to use the octopus stance.
After the group was told about what just occurred, they were mostly satisfied. But, not Terrance. He walked over the counter and stood in front of the older man. After scanning the old man, Terrance backed off and left the store.
Seeing the rough hands of the man, Terrance knew if he attempted to steal from the man. It wouldn't be easy.
After getting mocked by the group, Terrance spoke up. "Ay, I've been making all the plans so far. Why don't we do something y'all wanna do."
Terrance watched the slight bit of chaos that would occur. After a quick murmur here and there, none of them could really come up with anything to do. With a face palm Terrance decided to take the tram to downtown.
With his posse following behind him, the group was able to make it all the way to downtown in a measly 10 minutes. After walking around a bit, Terrance was a chef in his kitchen. "Imma be a policeman."
After a bit of talk about it, it wasn't that bad of an Idea. He could be an insider for the boss and get training. While hopefully getting paid. Damien was actually very interested in this idea.
He asked if an air bender wanting to be a policeman was out of the question. Terrance said on the contrary, it would probably be great for interrogation. After a bit of chatter, the group was able to officially get to the public library.
"Knowledge is power, boys."
Terrance then strutted into the library, searching for the history area. Particularly anything within 100 years. While he was doing such, like children to their father. The rest simply followed along.
After a short bit of studying Terrance got some clues. Satisfied with what he learned, he took a free map of the city and left the building.
After heading outside he wanted to get his muscles pumping. Knowing that if he didn't be in a gang type association would get 10x more dangerous. Looking at his new paper map he checks out if there were any gyms.
He was lucky enough to find some. There were 2 gyms made specifically for benders. One in downtown and the other on the east side. Using his common sense, he could deduce the one downtown would just be more expensive.
Ramen remarks that he wouldn't really mind where he trains as long as there's water. Damien, the same but as long as it's useful. Michael just said he practically has a teacher already so it doesn't matter too much to him either.
Catching his eye, Terrance sees a small plot of land, it looks like a playground. What's peculiar about this land is that there's a large open area in its back yard.
Terrance without much hesitation plots a route straight for it. Taking their steps, they hop on the tram. Sitting in the tram, they look around a bit. If it were by modern day standards, this area seemed just around 1960's.
Where cars are being used more but still around the time where information was passed around by word of mouth. The area is calm, collected, and homely. If you were to be there you could say it's peaceful.
While sitting around for a bit, Terrance spoke to the group about his findings. After huddling up like hooligans plotting.
Terrance spoke, "Ok, so from what I read. The current avatar is supposed to be a fire bender but they can't find him or her. Before this fire bender there was an earth bending avatar, which after a little bit more digging I was able to find out he died at the age of 5. I don't know how or why but it happened. Then the avatar before that was Avatar Korra. She died at the age of 66, so far it's about 20 years since the death of that earth avatar. What I can assume is that the cult stuff the news was talking about is surrounding the missing fire avatar."
After the rest of the group was able to take in this knowledge, they came to their conclusions. "What's the plan?" Damien then gestured at the group to answer. "Find the avatar? Stop the cult?" Ramen then pondered a bit, not really knowing what to do.
After the chatter ended the group got off the tram, thanked the driver and stepped onto the field. While looking around the area it was simply a small park, but near the back of the park was a wide open area about the size of 4 basketball courts. Looking around the park they found a sign, it read.
"Welcome to Brights Community Park, we welcome anyone from any background or age. Rules, don't cause violence, don't harass anyone don't litter. Any expectation we hold to you is be a good Samaritan."
After reading the rules, the group walked into the park, look around there were all sorts of people. Looking at the sun it was just about 3pm.
There were older folks doing stretches while kids were messing around. After the group stood in awe of the area, they decided to not judge a book by its cover. After taking a few steps around the place Ramen and Damien walked over to the older folk.
"Excuse me sir, what are you doing?" Damien then observed the older people.
An old man walked over and said, "Just doing tai chi, letting the energy flow. Stretching."
Damien smirked at the thought then asked to join. The older man allowed him to hop on in. Damien proceeded to start training with the older folk. Ramen on the other hand noticed a fountain of sorts.
He walked over to the flowing water. He placed a small orb of water in his hand, turning it to ice. He then turned it back into water. With a little bit of thought, he stepped into the fountain placing his shoes on the floor. His feet touched the marble flooring of the fountain, feeling pennies and dimes.
After taking one of his feet out he placed it right over the surface, turning a small portion of water into ice. Placing a bit of weight onto the spot, he stood on top of the ice. Balancing on his leg turning another portion into ice. Repeating his steps from before he slowly made a plot of ice to sit on. Then he began to practice turning water to ice to water to ice.
Terrance on the other hand walked over to Michael and asked for a spar. Not wanting to run from a fight, Michael agreed. Without much preparation, the two found a free bit of space, stood on each end and began their fight.
Michael, boosting himself with fire, sped over towards Terrance. Terrance, shocked by the speed, popped up a wall, hoping for Michael to run into it. Able to just barely notice the wall, Michael made a flip past it. Landing on his feet and shooting a small ball of fire towards Terrance.
Terrance watching this bit of fire coming towards him, stood his ground while making fists of earth. Being able to make the fist in the nick of time, Terrance was able to block the blast. Michael raising his foot high, slammed on top of Terrance.
Using his fire to increase the speed of the axe drop. Terrance, making a hasty defense with his fists, wasn't able to block the full brunt of the attack. Leading Terrance to take a nasty hit. After taking the knee, Terrance remarked on Michael's quick thinking skills.
Michael puts his hand out helping Terrance back on his feet. The two made a comradeship.
