Day 4 of Hunting
It's already been four days since I started hunting. The process has been tedious because most of the animals are faster and stronger than me. Although difficult, the process has helped improve my reflexes and reaction time. I have even gotten better at hiding.
[Quest: The Hunter or the Hunted
Kill 10 land animals!
Animals killed: 0
Time: 16 days]
Looking at the quest made me sigh, as even after four days I have yet to get any kills. The animals on this island all have intelligence, although I'm not sure how intelligent they are. However, it would seem that intelligence varies depending on the species. Animals such as squirrels, rabbits, and mice are more intelligent than most of the birds. The least intelligent are the insects.
Although the insects aren't as intelligent as the other animals, they still have more intelligence than normal animals back in my world.
I looked outside my window as the sun began to set. I sighed as I remembered the hours I've wasted until now. Ten hours today alone had been for nothing.
I was about to close the window and go to sleep until I saw an ant. Our eyes met, and it began to panic.
"Tsk. Bastards even got into my house."
Irritated, I crushed the ant as it tried to escape, and as I killed it, a sudden change in the quest made me shocked.

"..."
Silence echoed throughout the room as I stared at the screen.
"So I can progress with ants…"
I slumped down on my bed and sighed. "Either way, do I really wanna cheat my way out of this? Sure there will be a reward, but I won't learn how to hunt, and I wanna eat meat already… No diddy."
I pondered as I looked at the ceiling for a few minutes until I made up my mind. "Ah, what the hell. I'll just finish this and eat those bastards. If I really can't catch anything, then I'll use ants as my last resort."

Day 5
Huff Huff
I sat on the floor, out of breath and soaked in sweat. I have spent hours trying to catch anything, but nothing worked.
Traps don't work as the animals are too intelligent to fall for half-assed traps, and I don't have the tools or experience to catch anything. Almost all the animals are faster than me, and if they aren't, they are stronger or more agile than me.
Pondering ways to catch them, something suddenly came to mind, "Tools! I need tools!"
Throughout my five days of hunting, not once did I use tools. Yes, I have used stones and sticks, but not tools. As for the traps, I would use plants and other materials I could find throughout the island.
"So I need tools… But how do you make them? And what should I make first?"
I thought of different things that I could make, something easy and reusable, "A bow maybe? Nah, that sounds like it'll take time, and plus I don't know how to use it properly…"
I stood up and searched for anything I could use and something that would give me an idea of what to make. It didn't take long until I saw a long wooden stick.
"Ah! I should make a spear; it shouldn't be that hard, right?"
-2 Hours Later-
I crouched down in a bush as I watched a brown bunny take a shit. I readied to throw my spear; however, the bunny heard the faint sound of the rustling bush. The bunny sucked his own shit before it could fall and started running.
"Fuck!" I threw my spear but missed.
"This is really difficult… I've already tried throwing while getting close and even throwing when I'm standing still. Everything is difficult because I've never thrown a spear before, and my aim is off. It also feels weird whenever I throw it. It feels like it will land, but it doesn't."
I sighed and walked up to my spear and picked it up. I made five spears, and two broke while I was hunting. As I sighed and dwelled on the fact that I'm a bum, I noticed the dimness of the forest. It was getting dark, and I needed to go catch some fish and go to sleep.
Arriving at the river close to my house, I removed all my clothes and started catching some fish. However, this time, I wanted to use my spears and see how effective they were. I caught three big fish as my appetite had been uncontrollable since I started hunting.
As I ate the fish I caught, I realized something, "Wait… I caught those fish pretty easily with my spears. Maybe I should train with them too, with throwing and getting close. They did help me improve my reaction time."
I got up after finishing my meal and uttered,
"Well, maybe tomorrow."

Sorry if this is a little bit slow, but it's necessary trust :)
Also, if you could, please leave a review. I don't mind if it's criticism, just don't go too hard on me. Reviews help a lot, it doesn't just help readers, but help me too.
